Million dollar views and wonderful customer service. We've been coming to this motel for DECADES but hadn't been for nearly five years. What a wonderful surprise to find our room (Pet friendly, 23) was freshly painted and decorated, with an upgraded heater and super comfortable bedding! The added bonus of the large array of free breakfast offerings made Silver Surf our NUMBER ONE CHOICE for staying at the Oregon Coast once again!

Despite CV 19 restrictions this modest motel meets the need for a genuine getaway. Peaceful, tranquil, right on the beachfront with ocean views, there is not much not to like about these full-kitchen suites. Other than a poor Verizon or ATT connection we have no complaints. And besides, their WiFi is exceptional. Not being able to make calls other than wifi calling might or might not be an inconvenience.

The room is very cute and kitschy. Feels homey and welcoming. Very clean. Firm beds. More than adequate lighting. Faux fireplace heating worked very well to keep entire space warm. Kitchen is fully supplied with most everything needed for cooking meals.

To sum it up, we enjoyed three most pleasant days and nights. The weather was awful but we stayed cozy inside with the balcony door partly open. The sound of the surf is totally relaxing. There is a beach access, but high tides made it treacherous ...not advisable to climb unstable beach cliff steps during winter storms.

Yachats is only minutes away, the state park ocean viewpoints are truly magnificent. Some shops were open and at least one restaurant or more offered inside sit down dining.

This is sure to be one of our go-back places. Not luxurious but more than just acceptable. We loved our time spent there!

Stayed for 3 nights. Got a very good deal. The only problem was the hot water in the shower. After turning it on, it came out scalding hot, then by the time that you get it adjusted, you have approximately 2 minutes of hot water, if you are lucky.

Asked the front desk if this was normal. She said, no, that she would have the maintenance man check the water heater. The next morning, we still had the same problem. So, room 25 has limited hot water in the shower.

Other than the hot water problem and being able to hear everything from the room next to you, (possibly from little insulation, and cheap doors, ) it is a nice place to stay.
Yes, it's old, but it's still o.k. to stay in.
I don't think that there should be a 10.00 fee for left dishes, as when we got into the cupboard to get a pan, it was lined with grease. So, they don't know if it was you that left it or someone else.
We have stayed here many times, and will probably continue to do so, as long as we have hot water in the next room.

The location on the beach is really beautiful but the snow hotel has gone way down hill that used to be one of my favorite places to stay. The room was dingy and in need of maintenance, neither door would shut or lock properly. Lots of mold growing in the bathroom and the fan broken. The breakfast they offered didn’t start until 930 and then was a series of prepackaged items. I won’t stay here again.

Very disappointing!! The cleanliness of the hotel is the responsibility of the house-keeping staff AND the owner of the hotel !! : The staff of this hotel does a good job of cleaning, but they are severely restricted by the owners of the hotel. Therefore, the floors are filthy, filthy!! NO ONE HAS SCRUBBED OR MOPPED the floors for years. I took a wet paper towel and wiped up a few spots on the floor, and the paper towels came back black, caked with crap. The bathroom floor is the same. The hotel is generally run down and ill kept. Nobody is doing anything to improve on the broken door materials, old paint with bad spots, weather-beaten surfaces, deteriorated deck surfaces, ....old, dingy, smells old and dirty. Poor lighting in all of the lamps, bulbs are the most dim, dark depressing wattage. NO extra garbage bags; you have to beg for them. We will never go back. You should choose somewhere else to stay and not waste your money on this place. $234.00 plus fees and taxes. And now, they charge a booking fee that is defined as a charge for "24 / 7 help presence", and that is a lie, because they only staff the place between 8 am and 8 pm. That is not "24 / 7" presence. Just another way to get money. Greed !! The owners do not care enough to patch the huge holes in the parking lot. What a dump !

I was so excited to taking baths every day, since we live in an RV and I don't have a tub. We stayed 3 nights and not once was there enough hot water to take a bath. We barely had enough hot water to finish one shower. Plus, the only thing heating the room and bathroom is an electric fireplace on the TV stand. The bathroom was quite aways from that heat source and there wasn't a heat lamp installed in the bathroom. I couldn't get hot water and was forced to endure an ice cold bathroom. I asked maintenance to see if there was something they could do and was told the hot water tank empties and it takes time to heat back up. I don't know how many rooms are on one hot water tanks, but it should be addressed as you pay to stay and should be able to enjoy what you are paying for. The bed was very soft and not comfortable, but that's not enough to complain about. The pictures show a nice railing with steps going to down the beach. Well, it does not exist. There is a metal bar jutting out of the dirt but it is not useable. The steps leading to the beach were dug in the earth, so they were muddy and slick. Very disappointed as we spent over $500 to stay for three nights and I couldn't wait to leave.

Looking at the reviews here it looks like something happened to this property in 2021. Change of ownership perhaps? The reviews went from generally very good to generally bad. The room was very dated and spare, but ok. The kitchen was ok. The room was clean, but had a strong mildew smell. The room was cold because the only heat came from a very small space heater that could not keep up. The beds weren't completely shot but they were not great. The grounds are poorly maintained and have tripping hazards and open access holes a pet or child could fall into. Beach access is treacherous but the beach itself is nice. Despite saying they take Visa I had to use my Mastercard because they kept saying my card didn't work(I verified my card was working an hour later). As an added bonus, there is no cell service here so good luck dealing with that refused credit card. If you look at my other reviews you will see my reviews are generally positive, but I will not be back to the Silver Surf and I recommend that you do not stay here.

The rooms are different than what was advertised to draw me in. We had a room for one night and it had adjoining doors on both sides, as we were in the middle of two rooms. You can hear the other rooms like they are right in the same room with you! Conversations, dinner, whatever a couple does on vacation you have an audience whether you know it or want it! Very disappointed, the rooms are old and dated with late 80s to 90s furnishings and blankets. The balcony and beach access were this hotels only saving grace or I would have rated it a 0. No WiFi either and during our recent stay it was fire season, with many fires burning around us so not having wifi was dangerous to say the least. I will NOT be back and don't recommend the place to anybody.

Directly on a nice beach, which is not crowded. Quiet location. The rooms, almost mini-apartments have a kitchen with large fridge and full stove/oven. The room we had could benefit from a remodel. Safe area.

I agree with two previous reviews. The electric fireplace is a joke, I was either hot, or very cold, since the floor is mostly tile it was always cold even with socks on. The bathroom was extra chilly since the fireplace heat didn’t reach that area. I called the office asking about which TV channels had local news and weather since there wasn’t a schedule, no one ever got back to me. I agree with the person in regard to the look of easy access to the beach, it was a rudimentary path that most older people would find hard or impossible to navigate. I didn’t find room 24 to be very clean. It had an odor. I wasn’t told when making my reservations for two nights the pool and hot tub were unavailable. I spent very little time in the room because it was so unpleasant. I was happy to be returning home. I won’t be back.
