We stayed there for a family funeral. The manager is not kid friendly at all. 10 in the morning, my grandkids were playing right by our cabins, and the manager called and said that they were disturbing the guest. Our family was also on the 2nd floor, they were all talking and got a call at 2:45 pm and said they were making too much noise, and that no kids are allowed on the 2nd floor. The rooms were really musty smelling. My daughter's cabin had lots of BLACK MOLD. I do have to say that the cabins are really big and very nice.
We stayed here for a quick get-away to the ocean. It was over the holidays so i didn't know if any rooms would be open. Got a room on the top floor looking right at the ocean. Room was clean and decorated with all the ocean theme things. The outside of the hotel looks rough and weathered (duh we are at the ocean) but the inside was great. little trail right to the water on the side of the hotel. They have an indoor pool but we didn't go in. It was close to town so going in for dinner was easy. Bed was nice. The heater is electric but worked. All in all good get-away. If the outside was fixed up they would have been sold out.
My wife and I revisited the Silver surf to celebrate our birthdays over Veterans day weekend. Just like our first visit we chose the lake room upstairs. we enjoy the view fro the balcony , the full kitchen and being just on the edge of town the ocean is all you really hear. You can spend A LOT more or a lot less in Yachats , but if you want a really nice get away with lighted surf and a full size coffee maker (thank you) then look no further.
We highly recommend the Silver Surf Motel. The room was very clean and well equipped. The views are perfect. A continental breakfast of warm scones and coffee is include with the room. The staff was friendly and unobtrusive. We will be back!
Very clean room with an ocean theme. Hard-working, friendly staff. Beautiful view of ocean. It was also quite, except for sound of the ocean, and the bed was comfortable. I would definitely stay there again!
