Best Western's Mt. Hood Oregon "RESORT" is a Motel 6 level property that Motel 6 would be ashamed of. This might have been a very nice property at some point in the past. It is obvious that Best Western is taking advantage of consumers looking for a decent place to stay during the ski season. We stayed in the off season (August). The place is old and busted down. Old can be very nice if properly maintained / upgraded. This place feels as if they haven't done serious maintenance since the 1990s. Rusty water, noisy vibrating vent fans, broken toilette seat, ice machine out of order, filthy balcony (bird poop everywhere), ratty old carpet, not enough electrical plug ins, no availability of in-room movies and very weird "humps" in front of each room entry that are trip hazards. What's with the humps? DO NOT pay $200 per night for this crap-tastic property.

Stayed August 13 thru August 16, 2020. On first night ants were found in the room. Notified front desk. They came up and wiped down counter. Next day found more, including ants nest in cover maker. Ants got into baggage and medicine bag...also on bed spread. Informed front desk again. We were never offered another room. It was obvious the room was never cleaned and made ready for guests...especially considering the covid 19 issues. Management did offer one night reimbursement but refused to give me the contact of a superior to discuss these issues with. In fact, they threatened legal action if I kept asking for a contact. Totally disappointed with our experience there.

Hello sir, I’m Christopher, and I work as The Resort Manager for The Resort. Thank you so much for taking the time to write to us. At this time we take extra precautions and measures to make sure our guest rooms are cleaned to a high standard so that our guests can feel safe and restful. The guest staying in the room informed the front desk agent that they had seen ants near the coffee station. We did offer for the guest to move rooms which is our standard procedure. She said that she would prefer to stay in the room, so we had an agent go over and wipe down the area where the ants had been seen. Early the next morning we had an agent go over and remove the coffee make and replace it with a new one. After this, the front desk agent was told by the guest that the issue was resolved. We make it a point to be known for customer service. As you know we have touched base after the stay and we were able to evaluate situation. We offered compensation for the inconvenience based on the information we received. Thank you, Christopher

This was not our first stay here. And we understood going in that it would be different because of Covid restrictions. So we called ahead to confirm what activities would be available for our family of 7. We were assured that the only things closed were the pool and spa. However, upon arrival, we learned that we had not be given an accurate picture. Golfing was still available, which was great, but that appeared to be the only activity. Through some perseverance, we were able to persuade the golf shop to give out the croquet equipment, but the horseshoes, tennis, and basketball courts were closed. That presented quite a challenging issue for energetic children. Had we known going in, we could have brought some things with us. It was not fair or prudent to not be upfront about the closures. In addition, we were disappointed to see the condition of the golf villa (house). It was covered with spider webs inside and out. The patio had not been cleaned of dead leaves and debris. Upon retrieving an item from under a bed, we discovered the carpets there were deep with dust. There was no dishwasher soap, and we were told by the front desk clerk that she was too busy to bring any. We had to wait another day to get some. With the heightened alerts about extra sanitizing because of the pandemic, I would have expected the lodging to be at its best. This was not the case. Only the golf cafe, The Mallard, was open for meals. We understood that at booking. We ate there 3 times during our stay. During 2 of the 3 meals, the manager served a nearby table of golfers and offered them a different menu from the limited one our server recited to us. Overall, we expected more from this well-established resort. We'll be looking elsewhere for our next family vacation. Such a shame.

Booked to attend a wedding that cancelled (Covid) After countless calls, texts, and weeks (still waiting) there is no resolve. Others in same situation stopped fighting and are going to the hotel just to go because they cannot get refund. 1 person in this chain is trying to help but I get less optimistic with each passing day. NEVER!
