We moved to Washington recently and we live near the Gorge so it only takes us about 20 minutes to get here. My husband found out about Mcmenamin's and all their restaurants and their passport book and decided we should start going to all of them, so this one was our first choice. I thought we were going to a... More

It is funky, laid back, quiet & relaxing. Great food and drinks (Cajun tots are FAB). Usually some kind of live music happening and the soaking pool is heaven. Prefect temp and even if it is busy, it is spread out enough to feel like you have your own space.

My husband and I stayed at McMenamins Edgefield recently I admit that the hotel was darling at first glance. Our dinner and service in the Black Rabbit was top-notch. Fantastic cocktails! The downside was the room. Be advised, there are no fridge, microwave, TV or coffee makers here. Bathrooms/showers are up the hall! No ability to adjust the room temperature.... More

I love this place but after staying last night, not so sure anymore. It is a great place to visit with friends for the lunch at PowerHouse or wine at the winery and just to stroll around, but the prices for what you get just don't pencil out anymore. The rooms are very noisy. Definitely, don't get a room anywhere... More

Nice venue. It's a brewery. The smell of beer at the entrance at 8am... A bit much. The lunch was nice. Not enough but nice. The only reason to post this is the fruit flies. Oh my. I've never seen so many at a catered event. It made it very unpleasant. They Must like the beer? Although the rogue breweries... More

First time staying. Room is like an old historic or European style hotel: No TV, large room with fan and bathroom down the hall. Bathrooms were multiple private rooms with showers (perhaps 6-8 per wing per floor?) so there is no lack of privacy issues or lack of quantity. I enjoyed myself strolling the grounds and they hoping up into... More

We have been going to Edgefield for music for years and my stepson was married there many years ago. This was my first time staying over in the hotel -- we got a room with bath (it appears that some travel arrangers don't know that some rooms are available with bath for a few dollars extra -- still, a decent... I wish we would have had more daylight and more time to explore here. We can with a group and enjoyed the custom brews, unique craft cocktails and explored many of the differ lounge/bar areas. This is such a neat place and I would recommend going if you are in the area. It certainly got crowded later in the night,... More

Wow, what a cool place. We had some time to kill heading into Portland and found McMenamins on Tripadvisor or all places. (my attempt at humor) Seemed like a stuffy old hotel when we first walked in. The place just kept opening up into more different and eclectic different experiences. It would have been a totally amazing experience to spend... More

A fabulous place with everything one could want. Music, food, wine, beer, accommodations, fire pits, spa, golf.... I will be back. We didn't get a room at the hotel... seems people book the room and then get a ticket for whatever show is playing that weekend. We went on the labor day long weekend and booked our show in March...
