Almost didn't book due to the "shared bathroom" situation with the room that was available; that would have been a mistake. Shared bathroom was no biggie, there is a bathroom door at the end of the hall which leads to 6-7 private full baths. The property is awesome; spent most of my time drinking and exploring...which is what this place... More

Such a cool place. I go here everytime I'm in town. Food is good beer is better. The place is just terrific. I love the Vineyard and gardens. I would love to stay at the hotel some time. Their craft beer is outstanding and the bartenders know what to give you based on your tastes

Attended one of the outdoor concerts at Edgefield and decided to make a weekend of it. The entire place is fun and beautiful, with lush vegetation, small craft shops, and tiny pubs in unexpected locations. If you're coming here on a concert day, get here early as parking can be difficult. My only complaint is that regardless of the accommodations... More

Came upon by accident. What an amazing place. Make sure this is on your list whenever you are in or near Portland. It's like a trip into a alternate universe with its funky feel and very unique 8 bars. It also serves as a premiere concert venue. A year long waiting list to stay in its exclusive rooms. It's on... Edgefield is my go-to place on the east side of Portland. Deservedly successful. But maybe it is time to expand outdoor dining options on the property itself. The Loading Dock is overloaded---with long wait lines. Edgefield should greatly expand the patio, or develop a new one---by the vineyards, perhaps?

We stopped here on our way to Portland. The grounds were spectacular and well kept. Every time we turned a corner we were treated to a new sight. We did not stay here but walked thought the hotel and it looked warm and inviting. I would come back.

McMenamins Edgefield is exactly as titled - a hostel on steroids. We had a king room with no bathroom. A community bath at the end of the hall contained approximately eight complete bathrooms each with its own door for privacy. Room was adequate and a nice size, but dark. They happily moved a hide a bed in for a third... More

Meg L, Thank you so much for your feedback. We strive to keep our property thoroughly cleaned and I'm sorry to hear that this wasn't the experience you had. I'm glad to hear you had the opportunity to enjoy our facilities' little nooks and crannies! I've privately messaged you regarding your stay - as I would like to hear more... More

Family trip for a birthday. We had fun on the grounds. We loved the hot tub/pool and the many bars on the property. The rooms are not very comfortable. There is no air conditioning. We had a room next to the men's lavatory, which made sleeping soundly next to impossible. It is an old building so the floors are creaky.... More

Urbantraveler80, I'm so sorry to hear we missed the mark during your stay. While we do everything we can to ensure a quiet stay, the uncomfortable bed is more than unfortunate! I've privately messaged you regarding your bed, so we can get it fixed for future guests and discuss your stay in detail. Cheers, Kathaleen G More

Stayed for an overnight and had a great time on the grounds. We hung out in the game room, wandered from tea house to the heated pool, checked out the artwork all over the hotel and had a fantastic stay.

Spent the Fourth of July at Edgefield. I have to say I was very disappointed with this property. Again, this lodge has no air conditioning and common bathrooms. Also no elevator in a three-story building, so be prepared to climb some steep stairs. I was a bit concerned with the bathrooms here. Both men and women use the same door.... More

BigBill65, Thank you for bringing these things to our attention. We are so sorry to hear that the service you received was not up to standard. We strive to make sure every dining experience is perfect. It is true that with the historic nature of our buildings, we don't have a number of modern amenities within the walls of our... More
