Detailed Reviews
Had a really nice visit. Would totally stay again. Host was very easy to contact and communicate with. Only regret was that we couldn't stay two nights! I don't think I've stayed in a cleaner place. The host family was very warm and friendly, even sitting with us for breakfast to talk about the history of the hotel (HOW many times must they have told the stories before!?) as well as give advice for where to go snowshoeing nearby.

We were on a back country cycling tour of the area and loved our stay at the Sumpter B&B. Host was totally accomodating. I stayed in the John Wayne room, which was very comfy. The building has an interesting history, having started out as the Sumpter hospital. Rustic and charming. It is a sort of time travel back to the boom towns of Eastern Oregon. I did not see the rumoured ghost...

Very pleased with the B&B. Owner very friendly and breakfast was great. Loved the upstairs lounge as it was a great place for reading in the evening. Alot of history in the building. Also met a nice family from Bend OR who happened to have an Aunt that lives in my town and who I have known for along time.

We had a delightful stay! The antique furnishings create the ambience, the bed was comfy and the historic significance of the former hospital, reputedly haunted, was intriguing. Our hostess was a lovely woman who prepared us delicious huckleberry pancakes for breakfast. We saw no apparitions, but perhaps you have to believe in ghosts to be visited by them! It was a fun setting in which to spend our 50th wedding anniversary.

We drove up, after seeing photos and reading about the hauntedness of the bnb only to find it very clean, and very welcoming. We were part of a party that rented the entire house but every one of us were so happy with our accommodations. The beds were comfy, the rooms were air-conditioned and quiet. We would definitely stay again.
