I stay here several times a year during bird hunting seasons. Everybody is always friendly and helpful. The food even though it’s takeout is always better than expected . Hours of service are variable depending upon occupancy but they are willing to deliver a meal to your door if needed.

Love this quaint little resort. The location is per perfect for enjoying wildlife (across the street from the wildlife refuge), cruising up to Fremont Point at sunrise to see the beautiful valley below, and driving to Paisley and having lunch at the Pioneer Saloon (est.1893). This place is a gem! The rooms are very comfortable and the food at the Flyway restaurant is home style, plentiful, and delicious. The proprietors are super friendly and very accommodating. Not to mention they are pet friendly!! Highly recommend this establishment!

Pros: View is gorgeous! Food in restaurant good. Staff friendly. Was able to get two bars on my phone ( Verizon) Room walls well insulated. Very clean. Cons: Beds rock hard! Bathroom tiny, shower up too high ( almost fell getting up in). Towels old. Electrical outlets badly need upgrade! ( if you have CPAPS bring your own extension cord) Tv one local station. Be sure to gas up before coming. We were in the motel units, can’t speak for the cabins.

This could be a top notch place, and I realize it's a remote 'Oregon outback' place, but a few fixes would take it from clean & adequate to excellent. It's been remodeled but the soft mattress was unpleasant. Not one towel hook in the bathroom. And the one TV channel doesn't work if the TV in the restaurant is off. Not the kind of place for TV addicts anyway. However, it does have excellent wifi, which was all we needed. And it's by far the nicest motel in the Christmas Valley to Summer Lake area. We didn't try the restaurant, we have too many food allergies to risk it. But they do have fridges & microwaves in each room. A couple of the cabins have kitchenettes. While it's not perfect, we'll stay there again if in the area. Oh, and the view when you step out of your room is breathtaking.

I thought the room was comfortable. The rooms are in a classic old mom and pop style and there are several cabins on the property as well. The rustic decor was cute and clean. The firm mattress allowed for a good night's sleep. Behind the rooms is a viewing deck over a nice, large pond. Several Adirondack chairs face the mountain range behind the lodge where you can relax for a nice evening cocktail before you head inside for dinner. Each of the cabins has a deck extending over the pond. And the extra bonus: the lodge sits across the road from a wildlife refuge-a very large bird habitat where driving the loop will get you some wonderful bird sightings. Do it!!! It's worthwhile. The onsite restaurant serves fine meals, although we had a political rant served up with our breakfast. It seems the Oregon governor is responsible for EVERYTHING bad. Didn't need that, but I can't lie about the overall experience-good room, good food and wildlife!!!! One other oddity: the tv was controlled from the main lodge and you had to ask the desk to tune into what you wanted to watch. That is the channel every room has to watch, unless there's consensus to watch something else. Only soap provided here. No lotion or shampoo.

Room Tip: If you're willing to pay a little more, get a cabin. The deck over the pond is a very nice...
