Detailed Reviews
This was a very nice RV campsite. The staff are very attentive and respond quickly to any requests that you have. Incredibly clean and up to date washroom / showers. Landscapers do a nice job of keeping on top of the lawns and cleanliness of the campground. Has a small swimming pool and hot tub. Games room inside the lodge. Make sure you bring ear plugs if you want to sleep in. This RV park is beside a busy road. People are on their way to work beginning roughly 5 AM in the morning. This is a nice central campground. We used this as our base, then ventured out to Silver Falls to go hiking, the Reservoir to go kayaking, and then over to Salem for some sight seeing / hiking.

This is a wonderful park to stay in! We were here for five days and had a wonderful time exploring the area. The park is not paved and a bit dusty, but extremely well kept and cared for. There is a lovely pool and hot tub, as well as lovely ponds to walk around. For pet owners, there is a very small off leash area. This RV park is very closely to Silverton - a quaint town along a small river. It is a very easy bike ride into town. The park is also a great stopping off place to see the Oregon Gardens and the Gordon House (the only Frank Lloyd Wright house in Oregon). Don't miss the Silver Falls state park where you can hike behind waterfalls. Local wineries are a bit of a challenge, as they are often only open on Saturday and Sunday. Finally, for folks who like photography, there are many covered bridges to see in the area. This is a great park and I would highly recommend it.

A great location - 5 minutes from downtown, 5 minutes from the Oregon Gardens, and 30 minutes from the National Park. Very clean, nicely laid out, easy in and out, great parking and nice general store. Have fun

No dump station, no pool. Clean gravel, confusing layout, clean restrooms/shower. It was OK but I wouldn't go again. Overpriced to be sure, especially for an off-season booking. Tracks nearby but we didn't hear any train noise. Fishing ponds were a joke - more like fishing puddles.

Stayed in B7 which was very close to the roadway. Lots of evening road noise. Park was well maintained: Frequent cleaning of shower rooms and pool maintenance. Rules not enforced. Sites with multiple vehicles parked across the roadway. Raised the issue with the office the day before and morning of departure. Park map shows arrows for flow of traffic that don't seem to be followed. The roadways don't permit traffic in both directions and we often came across a party traveling against the flow resulting in a stand off at crossroads.

Large rv park, gravel roads. A couple of the ‘aisles’ are narrow. Our site barely fit our fifth wheel and truck. There are a LOT of permanents here but they aren’t trashy, areas are clean. Nice large office area, meeting area, pool and hot tub.

Last year, we found Silver Spur RV Park quite by accident while doing an Internet search for an “RV Park close to Oregon Garden”…They were the closest one, so we spent a couple nites there. We found it clean, well kept, pleasantly staffed, modestly priced and enjoyed the free showers and Wi-Fi. It would be easy to recommend it as a great place to park your rig while visiting nearby Oregon Garden and Silver Falls State Park. The lodge has a small rec. room, a book exchange library, laundry facility, a conference meeting room for classes/small conventions, catch & release fishing pond, a well stocked “RV necessity store”, etc.
While it's not adjacent to the I-5 corridor, we feel it's worth the short, scenic drive through the Willamette Valley farm to get there.
Since that pleasant week-end, we’ve discovered that it’s more than just a “great place to spend a nite or two”. Silver Spur RV Park is a “Destination”! We recently attended their “Spring Flower Weekend “ event….My goodness…two satisfying breakfasts, two large evening meals (one a buffet bar-b-que, the other a 5 course, sit-down meal), two chartered bus trips to local attractions, wine tasting, evening BINGO in the cozy great-room in the lodge and “always available shepherding” by their happy, fun and funny but hard-working staff caring for every little detail.
We learned that they have frequent planned event packages…and we found that many of the other guests were acquainted with each other because they were “regulars”. You’d better believe that we’re on their notification list and we plan on becoming “regulars” as well.
We’ve stayed in a lotta RV parks ranging from “yucky-poo” to “great”. Silver Spur RV has ‘em all beat…they are THE BEST!

We found this park in the Passport America guidebook. It looked good on paper – it looks even better in person!
There’s an easy entrance from the road (over railtracks), with plenty of space and room for manouvering. Rigs exiting the park leave from a different road so you aren’t worried about it getting clogged with rigs. There’s plenty of room to park while checking in, either on the road you come in on or further around, right in front of the office.
The office is located in a beautiful wooden, ranch-style building. Inside, the friendly staff use large touch-screen computers and can see at a glance which sites are free. This saves a lot of time checking in! The staff area is in the center of the room and to one side there’s a very nice seating area around a massive stone fireplace (complete with chandelier!), together with a good bring/borrow library; to the other side is a drinks/shop area. The whole thing has a very nice feel, both because of the décor and because of the staff. The manager couple have (well-behaved) children and live onsite. I get the impression they RV themselves as they understand RVers needs. They employ great staff. One young chap was particularly helpful – he checked us in and explained that he had spent the morning doing gardening around the site, later that evening we saw him whizzing by on a golf cart, doing some repairs. I don’t know when he sleeps! He said his grandfather used to work there so it’s obviously a longstanding park.
We were given a choice of pitch – with explanations of the pros and cons of each (near the road, close to the restrooms, by the pond, etc.) and chose the one by the pond, away from the road. It was a great pitch, we loved it and our Rough Collie spent all his time outside, staring happily at the pond.
We initially booked in just for 2 nights but extended to over a week as we loved the park so much. The staff were great about us extending, even using PA discount.
The site is very relaxing and friendly. Other guests sit outside and say hey when you walk by. No-one objected to our over-friendly Collie, who likes to meet and greet everybody in the park. There’s an off-leash dog area – small but big enough – and fountains in the two ponds. It has some lighting for nighttime walks but not bright enough to interfere with sleep.
My daughter was particularly thrilled with the showers. We’d had a run of poor water pressure showers in parks prior to this one! The showers are Silver Spur are in a good, clean block and contain the best shower heads and water supply we’ve found in a park. You really feel clean!
There’s a great laundry near the office. It’s big, plenty of machines, and cheap - we did all our bedding, summer & winter stuff!
Also outside the office is a lovely terrace with shade from a large wooden gazebo-type structure. It houses a massive square fire pit. There’s plenty of seating.
We saw it in use one evening at a pot luck and the fire pit was really impressive! It’s quite a social park but one without pressure, people just drift along to things if they fancy attending.
There are shops within walking distance in the little town. It has two good supermarkets (a Safeway and a local one – might have been a one-off - that was excellent, higher end, like a Fred Meyer), as well as smaller stores, drugstores, restaurants, hardware/farm supplies, a vet, doctors, etc. A little further away is a larger town with a Walmart, another Safeway, a PetSmart, etc.
There are lots of things to see locally. The Oregon Garden, Marquam Hill Alpaca Farm, a state park with waterfalls, a western store, and more.
We enjoyed just being on the site. They have social things going on but it’s also a great place to kick back and relax. There is cable TV (free) but we preferred to sit outside as we were right by the pond and it was so peaceful.
Very highly recommended. If we were US citizens, we probably would never have left!

We spent this last weekend at the Silver Spur with our Elks RV club. Not many of our group ventured out given the ugly spring weather, but the 5 rigs that showed up enjoyed our stay - as we always do. Each time we come here, there are new improvements. This has to be one of the nicest RV Parks in the area. The owners have plans for more and more events, but March weather sort of limits opportunities. We were able to stay warm and dry in the game room in spite of the record-setting rainfall outside. All aspects of this park are clean and inviting. The sites are gravel, but you'll find them almost perfectly level - making for easy setup. Even though we live only 12 miles away in Salem, we've stayed here at least once a year for the past several years - just to get away. Close to the Oregon Gardens, so a great time to check them out might be June (Brewfest at the Garden).

we were there 10 days, as close to the road as you can get and OMG the road noise was just about unbearable. It was during the 4th of July week and couldn't even spend anytime outside because of the noise and inside with the windows closed, air and TV on it was still NOISY! The park is somewhat rural, but the country road run along the frontside where we were, no trees, no buildings no nothing for a sound barrier and all the traffic entering and departing went by our spot. The traffic started about 4 AM and slowed down about 10 PM.
Not a relaxing or pleasant experience.
So my advice to you, when YOU call for reservations request as far from the road as possible....

I can't recall seeing any fire pits. It's Oregon, not CA, so I don't think there's a ruling against them. It's a very helpful campsite so they may well allow it, just don't provide them.
We did see people cooking outside so I gather they allow grills.
14.2 miles, about half an hour.
