This place smells like funk and is covered in dirty and grime. I think this Motel should get Oregons worst motel award. Such a disappointment considering what it could be. Unfortunately this is a place that once was and won’t ever again be anything as long Shilo Inns owns it. Think Motel 6 without a housekeeper quality for Grand Hyatt pricing. No joke. Total dump. DO NOT STAY HERE. Gross gross gross

The front desk gentleman was quite pleasant when we checked in. Our group rented two rooms on the fourth floor. Cleanliness was okay. Phone didn’t work for communicating room to room. The room rented for two had two bath towels, however only one hand towel and one hand rag. The furnace just blew cold air! We were able to get extra an blanket at the front desk which helped. There was no hot water for showers in either room at any time during our 24 hour stay. When we reported it at the front desk upon checkout there was no apology for the inconvenience in any manner. In talking to other guests many rooms did not have hot water. Both of our rooms were without hot water either in the evening or the morning. Very unacceptable . Sure glad we hadn’t planned to stay a second night. Unfortunately we won’t be back! Very disappointing.

We stayed for a birthday weekend getaway. Upon arrival the check in staff were great. Very friendly and helpful. The lobby is spacious and clean. When we checked into room 306 the room was very clean and big. But you could tell right away the beds were sagging in the middle. You could visually see the sag. The ocean view was good and we enjoyed the fireplace. The shower had great pressure. Neither one of us slept well due to the beds sagging. The room was over $300 for the night and honestly, we've had a better nights sleep in hotels that cost less per night.

We have stayed at Shilo Inns properties before and they have been OK and sometimes less than OK. This place was fine for us. Check in was easy as was check-out. We had two rooms next to each other and it was convenient. The rooms were large enough and comfortable. We appreciated having an elevator as many multi-story motels do not. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean and fresh. We appreciated having Mo's as the restaurant -- one of our favorite places and so convenient. The only complaint I have was that the kitchen was woefully understocked. There were minimal plates, cups, and silverware but a lot of other conveniences were missing. I would suggest including another paring knife or two, a couple of larger pots, pans (especially a larger frying pan), some hot pads and dish towels, a measuring cup and spoons, and at least salt and pepper. I can understand having to purchase spices (though some other places are well-stocked with some basics), but hot pads and dish towels are a must.

Horrible hotel, person in front of us was asking for a room change after he said a portion of ceiling fell on him . He said the ceiling drywall seam appeared to giveaway , our room dirty food wrappers in some areas , hotel very out dated , over priced. Refrigerator was not working , motor was full of dust and garbage . Microwave didn’t work . Bed was way to soft , mismatched furniture with tears in fabric , hair dryer missing from wall mount , bathtub needs to be replaced, door locks are so old you just as well have nothing . This hotel is very overpriced , outdated and not worth the money . It should be closed until upkeep can be done properly!! It’s a ripoff !!

My wife and I stayed at Shilo Inn Seaside Oregon from Saturday September 25. Checking out on Monday September 27. This was undoubtedly one of the worst lodging I have EVER stayed at.  The hotel is run down and needs major repairs. There was rust everywhere. Some outside corridor lights on the second floor were not functioning. Security was abysmal. Near the hot tub, there is an outside exit door to the beach. I was at that area in the evening and was shocked that I did not have to use my key card to re-enter the building. Speaking of the key card, my card continually did not work. I complained several times  to the front desk person (a black man) who continually argued with me saying it was my fault, and that if I had a cell phone nearby, it would not work. That was a bunch of bs. I told this person that I had never had this problem. Not ever. When I could not get into the hot tub area he tried it with my keycard. Lo and behold, it did not work. He finally admitted that there was something wrong with my keycard. This person was poorly dressed In jeans which I did not think appropriate dress. He also argued with me about the keycard. The refrigerator was working poorly, the freezer not at all. Finally, there was warm water for the shower the two days we were there.  Not hot at all.  On a scale if 1 to 10, 10 being the best, I would give this lodging a 1.

Stayed at the Shilo Inn last week for a short get away, one of our first trips since the pandemic. I checked almost every hotel in the Seaside Prom area and I was a little surprised that the Shilo was the least expensive for a non view room. The room was on the non-ocean side of the building but did have a window where some did not. Based on the number of cars in the parking area, I would say the hotel was less than 1/3 full. Room was very small and dated. It did have a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Clean but noisy, at least the first night. Could hear people above us walking in their room and a loud late night argument in an adjoining room. Second night was fine. Hotel restaurant is now Mo's Chowder. Next time in Seaside, I would probably spend the money for a water view room at one of the neighboring properties. Or one of the newer properties a few blocks away on the river.

Really disappointed to be writing this review because we’ve stayed at this hotel for years and never had an issue. We stayed August 19th 2021 and were on the fifth floor, and switched hotels after the first night we stayed here it was so bad. We were supposed to stay two more nights but after staying one night we couldn’t deal with how dirty and unsafe this building is. First, we noticed bird poop EVERYWHERE. In the hallways, staircases, balcony’s- everywhere. You have to dodge piles walking in the outdoor hallway to get to your room. The upper hallway also feels like it is falling off the building, the deck is so slanted outward it was hard to even push a luggage card down without it rolling into the railing because the floor is leaning so severely. You could feel the ground shaking as you walked along the hallway, our room was located on the left side of the building. I genuinely didn’t feel safe staying in the building once we started noticing the sloping floor and various cracks and patches all over the walls. When we got to our room, it was noticeably not clean. The carpets were filthy and sticky, we found an earring from a previous guest laying in the floor which makes me think they didn’t even vacuum after the last guests left. There were also bits of bird poop tracked all over the room(we’re unsure if that came from the hallway or the balcony attached to the room, or a combination of both). We didn’t even want to shower in the room or use any of the furniture everything was so gross and dirty. We checked in late after driving down after work on Thursday night, so the next morning, we opened the curtain to see the partial ocean view we had paid for, and the deck was absolutely covered in bird poop. Complete with two nesting pigeons LIVING on the balcony! The hotel had even removed the furniture out there, so they must know this is going on. The amount of filth from the birds out there wouldn’t have piled up in a short time, so they must be ignoring this issue and just renting the room out anyway. We looked and all the floors below us have balcony furniture out there still, just the 5th floor balcony room we were staying in had no furniture. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough, the location and view is ABSOLUTELY not worth it! There are way better hotels in the area that aren’t unsanitary. I want to say that this seems like a management or ownership issue, because both of the hotel staff members I spoke with were extremely helpful and efficient. It really seems like the ownership of this hotel has completely gone down hill and the building is needing some serious repairs and updating, and some serious, serious cleaning. We left feeling like we need to sanitize everything we brought in there.

The only reason I gave it a 2 star is for the location and the view.. otherwise everything else is not worth the money. The room is smelly, carpet is filthy and sticky. Rooms are extremely noisy .. couldn't sleep because of neighbors. The refrigerator is too loud. Beds are comfortable but I was very skeptical if they were really cleaned as the room was filthy. I couldn't wait to leave!

You obviously book this hotel for the amazing view ... boy does it have it. First room #408 outdated, flea infested. Moved us to #428, phone & fireplace broken, light out in bathroom. Dirty. Staff nice. Terell - please give me the menus, behind the counter... not the phone list. I write this review because we were asked to at check in and dropping names help. You've been warned.
