We really liked this place. The staff was friendly and inviting. The room was spacious and clean. the bed was quite comfortable. Then comes the view. The Pacific was not far off our balcony. At 7:00 AM we watched the surfers paddling out in search of waves. Various sea birds made appearances. It was March so it was chilly and a bit rainy but the electric fireplace made it feel comfy. I would say that the only downside is that you only got one coffee filter at a time and upon arrival we only had decaf coffee in our room. But that was quickly remedied. The sound of the ocean at night was very calming. And the lights of Seaside around the cove at night were a nice backdrop. If you come here, I would suggest that you get a 3rd floor room facing the ocean.
We were told because we booked with a third party we would need to change rooms for a two night stay! We were told to put our belongings on a cart and they would call us when it was moved so we could enjoy the Oregon Coast but that never happened so we had to come back to the hotel. The second room had no toilet paper or dish soap. There were hairs on the shower curtain and a used tooth floss pick left under the dining room table. Not a quality stay
I absolutely love Lanai at the Cove. I am so grateful I stumbled on it a few years ago - it is indeed my happy place. Being from Canada it is always special for me when Wayne (general manager) flies the Canadian flag when there are CDN guests. Wayne is so personable and very interesting to talk to. I have stayed in about 6 different rooms over the last few years, and certainly have my favourite(s). The ocean view is always changing and mesmerizing. I appreciate the little kitchenettes. I always bring additional kitchen items so I have what I need. I leave my door open the entire time, day and night, to hear the waves. The walls are thin and the walking above is noticeable, but with quiet time from 10 p.m. onwards its not a problem. My most recent stay, I added on three extra nights for a total of 12 nights. My time there was sooo restorative... I love that there are specials from time to time that allow me to have a longer stay. Madison (front desk) is an absolute delight. She makes time to connect with the guests, offer suggestions if asked. The other staff are great as well. Matthew, Lisa and of course Wayne the general manager. The Lanai is a little south of town so is quiet. There's a good little Thai place just a few blocks away. Long Beach, WA ~Cape Disappointment, Cannon Beach, Tillamook Cheese Factory and so much more are easy to take in. I am already eagerly anticipating my return. Another satisfied guest!! The place is neat, clean and provides an awesome view. The staff are friendly and it's obvious they enjoy their work. Our stay was wonderful and just what the Dr. ordered. In fact, we left a couple items behind by mistake. I received a call notifying us. Two days later my jacket and rain pants were sent back to us in the mail. So, I need to add: "honest" to the staff review.
My husband loved the beach. As it turned out this was our last trip before his health took a sudden turn for the worse and he passed away. He loved the coast and our room overlooking the ocean was the perfect spot to enjoy the view since he had difficulty walking on uneven services. The parking lot was at the same level as our unit so it was convenient since he didn't have to navigate stairs. It was great having a kitchenette so we could prepare some of our meals ourselves and not have to leave our comfortable space. The only difficulty for him was that the beds were higher than what he was used to. They have not updated their TVs to the big screen models which we have become used to. It was a beautiful trip for us and the weather was sunny and clear on one day. It is a memory I will cherish.…
Hidden Treasure its not in the main apart of town. Has great ocean views. Rooms do have thin walls but other than that its a great place to stay. Enjoy Watching the suffers attempt to catch a wave

We stay here as often as possible when we just want to get away. We have stayed on every floor and each studio size condo is decorated differently, but have enjoyed each stay equally. The Lanai is not on a beach, but overlooks a surf spot where the breaks are always wonderful to enjoy as each condo has a view. It is a short walk to the Promenade and sandy beaches, and Seaside proper isn’t terribly far to walk. An added bonus is that some of the units allow for dogs, always a bonus! Each unit has a small kitchenette with small stove with oven (which we’ve never used 😀 by choice), microwave, etc. There are just the basics provided, so if you plan on doing cooking, I’d suggest some casserole/microwaveable cooking dishes. But there’s everything you might need, really, for snacking, etc., and always some good restaurants nearby. The units have always been very clean and housekeeping always helpful with anything you might need. The staff is the friendliest you will find anywhere and it is truly always a joy to deal with them, either in person or by phone. We live in Portland, so the drive here is close enough that we’ve come to feel like it’s our go-to for a restful, peaceful time where we can be lulled by the ocean sounds. Having written this, we’re ready to return! …
We have been coming to The Lanai since the 70s! Always our first choice in Seaside! We love how close to the ocean it is and love watching the surfers! Has been fun to see the updates in the units through the years. The beds and pillows have always been comfortable and the staff is always so helpful and welcoming! The walls are thin but Mother Nature makes up for it. Totally worth it!! Pjmac422@yahoo.com
I have been going to the Lanai for decades, and my parents went there before that. I don't go as often as I would like, but I return repeatedly because it is my favorite spot. I love being so close to the water, and it's far enough away from Seaside proper to be quiet and serene. I do wish there were a bit more room for food prep. The kitchen space is tiny. But I've learned how to plan my meals so that I'm not too frustrated. Each room is different, so I can't generalize very well. But the view is superb, the management cooperative and helpful, and I just keep going back.
