Detailed Reviews
We have stayed at this place numerous times and it never disappoints. We like that it is at the north end of the prom, which is so much quieter, yet a short walk on the prom to downtown. The rooms are nicely appointed, cozy, clean and comfortable. A suggestion we have is for the inn to provide personal cooling fans in the rooms, since there is no AC.

Stayed in the king suite with queen bedroom.
Large room with wet bar with kitchen utensils, mini fridge, wet bar, gas fireplace, large bathroom with separate vanity well stocked with several small bottles of body wash and shampoos and lots of towels. Located right on the prominade has balcony with great views.
Kinda seems like a B&B instead of a motel.
A little weird having to check in at another motel several blocks away tho. Was going to write a stellar review but our last night was ruined by our inconsiderate neighbor smoking pot all night and haviing the smell fill our room. Nothing wrong with a little partying but have some consideration and do it outside as there are non smoking signs in the room.
Maybe if they had on site managemnent ir would be better

We were seeking a place with an ocean view and lucked into a 2-bedroom suite at the Inn of the Four Winds. "Lucked into" because we inadvertently scheduled our trip during Hood to Coast, a massive relay run that draws over 10,000 runners, volunteers, etc. to Seaside.
We were pleasantly surprised that our room had a small kitchenette, along with a comfortable bed, great location on the Prom, small balcony, and Smart TV, and that it was just a short walk to the ocean or to the main drag in Seaside with innumerable pubs and touristy things to do. It checked many of the proverbial boxes.
A few notes for the proprietors: some signs of wear and tear (bathroom wallpaper, tissues smelled moldy, one bath towel came with a hole in it). Housekeepers started door-knocking by 9am and there's no keeping them at bay with a Do Not Disturb doorhanger. WiFi was really spotty. But these are small, fixable things.
Overall, we were glad to find the Inn of the Four Winds!

This could be a nice place and it would be for maybe half the price. The room is just ordinary but shows signs of age. There is nothing special about it at all. The furniture is older and worn. The carpet is not in good shape, the bathroom rug was full of holes, and the dish towels were also old and had holes. After staying one night we attempted to cancel the second night we had reserved but the manager was rude and unpleasant and not willing to discuss that as an option. The view is quite nice but this hotel is not worth the money.
We've stayed in many hotels that were much nicer than this one at half the cost. Very disappointed. If you're staying in seaside I'd suggest finding a different hotel.

My family and I spent the 4th of July at Seaside in 2020 at the Best Western. We had such a great time that we thought we’d do it again in 2021 in style - so we picked Inn of the Four Winds. Online, it looked really nice. We booked it almost a year out to guarantee the room. We provided our credit card and got an email showing our room was booked. We told everyone we knew about our upcoming adventure and we were so excited.
A week before our stay we received an email indicating revised hours for check in and that they were looking forward to seeing us soon. On July 3rd, 2021, we packed the car early in the morning and drove 2 hours to the coast. We spent the afternoon on the beach, playing frisbee and digging holes. At about 4pm, I went to the lobby to check in. I walked into the lobby and let the attendant know that I was checking in. The first thing she said was, “No, we don’t have anyone checking in today.” I pulled up the confirmation on my phone and handed it to her. She looked really quick in the system and said that it was cancelled. I told her it wasn’t because I received no communication as such and that I received the email earlier in the week preparing me for my stay. She said that was just an automated system communication and didn’t mean anything.
She said that I should have made sure that a deposit was charged to my card and that was the confirmation of the room. I charge many things to my card and I don’t review my credit card statement every month. If I provide a credit card to a hotel and get a confirmation of my reservation and then get continuous email communications indicating I’m booked - then I’m booked. She called her supervisor and then told me there was nothing to be done. She made no offer to make me whole. No suggestions for how I might get a room last second on 4th of July weekend. She just stared and waited for me to leave.
What a way to ruin a great family outing. I would say the moral of the story is to make sure you check that a deposit is charged to your credit card before considering yourself booked at any establishment you go to. But I believe the more appropriate moral is - Don’t make a reservation at the Inn of the Four Winds. You won’t know if they really kept your room until you actually get there. I had the luxury of being able to drive all the way back home if I had too. But do you?

I'm not sure why this hotel has as high of a rating as it does, because it is pretty awful. For as much as I paid, I feel robbed. I've paid less to stay on Central Park in NYC. The location and proximity to the ocean are the only redeeming qualities of this place. Please note that there is NO A/C, which may have been ok before the climate started changing. However, with no a/c, no fans and only one small sliding door to allow air in on the beach side, the room is stagnant, hot and stuffy in the summer. I had to go to the local Safeway and buy electric fans so we would be minimally comfortable. (More money spent on top of the outrageous $450/night rate we were already paying.) We stayed in a King suite with queen bedroom upstairs. The walls are paper thin and the stairs and deck are creaky and loud. From the queen bedroom, You can hear EVERY step that people make in and going to/from other rooms. Between people clomping up and down the stairs, loud laughter, slamming doors, and letting kids run and stomp, getting sleep was pretty much impossible. Aside from the slamming of doors, the other guests weren't being inconsiderate. It's just the nature of the poor construction of the building. Our room had a cracked bathroom sink which leaked water below, ruining the one extra roll of toilet paper provided, so we had to call for more. There are multiple anchor holes in the walls, a missing towel hook, the shower head leaked water in all directions, the bar of the towel rack above the toilet fell off when I removed the towel from it, the microwave barely heated food, the tv was impossible to figure out (even with two teenagers trying to help), and the carpet, sofa and throw pillows were old and grungy. I feel like housekeeping does a good job, as the linens, towels, and counters were clean. Parking is a nightmare, as the spaces are small and cramped. There is one small round table, one desk chair, one desk, one lounge chair plus the two-seater sofa. No space to actually have more than one person eat a meal, play a game, etc. There is an ice machine on site, but no other amenities and no management on site. Stay elsewhere and get more for your money. This place is NOT worth it.

Location was close to the promenade and had beach access close by. Overall, room was outdated and stuffy. Carpet was old and should be replaced or removed in our opinion. Bed was comfortable and it was nice having a separate bedroom. Bathroom was small and we had to buy our own toilet paper as we were only given half a roll that was in the room when we got there. Housekeeping was there every day but did not speak English and was very reluctant to give us new towels or more washcloths when I asked with Google translate. She never smiled when we would wave or say hello every day. Biggest complaint for us was that while the website specifically said “Stay entertained with the DVD player, DVD library, and board games. Be well-prepared for beach outings with towels, blankets, mini wagons, and lawn chairs”, none of those were provided. When I asked about it, I was told that was from an old website although I was directed to the same exact website when asked what the new one was. I purposely didn’t pack beach towels bc they were supposed to be included. Needless to say, we didn’t have any beach chairs, towels or blankets. DVDs and games would have been nice to have for our family as well since they were supposed to be included. We ended up buying some board games to play. Overall, room was not worth the price we paid. Definitely overpriced for the amenities we had. Missing a lot for that price range.

It is a cute place, nice room. We looked at the photos and thought that the beach was a bit closer than it actually is. Our room had a fan, but it was not good enough for the temperature. If we had a window that opened that would of helped. Our room had a screen door, with the screen ripped around the door handle, so we were not comfortable leaving the glass door open. Early the day of our arrival we received a text saying that our reservation was that day and it included another address of a home office. I responded to the text asking if we needed to check in at the other address... no response. When we arrived at the Inn of the Four Winds we found out that we did have to go to the alternate address to check in.

This lovely Inn is located on the Seaside Promenade in a quiet location. Every room has a spacious view of the ocean. Our room felt more like a nicely appointed home versus a typical hotel room. The fireplace added a special touch to our room. The hotel is just a short walk from the downtown attractions and places to eat.
The staff were friendly and helpful. We were able to use two bikes. They also offered to take pictures of our group at times convenient for us. They made us feel like family.
Housekeeping. gardening and maintenance staff keep the place in excellent condition.
We could not have had a more relaxing and enjoyable time on the Oregon Coast.

The room was nicely updated. The view was beautiful and it was nice and quiet. However, there was black mold growing around the bathtub, which is unacceptable for the price of $350 for a Sunday night. We stayed here because our friends booked. Due to the price and condition it may be our only visit.

We won't be back either!
Since our horrible experience at "Inn of The BIG Wind", we've booked our Seaside, Oregon reservations through Oregon Beach Vacations with much satisfaction.
This property should be called 'Inn of The BIG Wind"!
The "manager" (actually only the son of the real owner) is, perhaps, the rudest individuals I've ever encountered.
In addition to yelling at his neighbors for "double parking" across the street in front of their own home when, in reality, they were merely unloading an elderly family member in a wheel chair, he also took out his "anger" on his staff during
our check in.
Save you money, and stay somewhere friendlier...we certainly will.
You would have to contact the hotel about occupany rules.
Their website has a convenient grid with availability and pricing
We do have some rooms open for those dates in September please give us a call so we can get you the most up to date information.
We look forward to hearing from you.
