This place used to be my go-to spot in Seaside, it was very affordable, very basic, but right on the beach, I loved it. Yet a year or so ago they painted it and remodeled it and had to increase the prices, which I understand, but I liked it better when it was less expensive and just a basic hotel room, bed, and bathroom. Recently when I tried to stay there it was only available for 2 nights or more at a time and the price was more like the Royal Hawaiian than what it once was, such is life I guess. I hear during the off season you can rent a room by the night and the price is more reasonable.

Nice ocean front old style motel close to everything. It is not the Four Seasons. It is an old motel that appears to be family owned. Mid-century modern furniture looked updated and clean. Room was clean and well maintained.
Quiet and convenient, staff was super friendly and helpful, especially the night clerk.

I do not recommend this motel. If you have no choice but to stay here, request a room on the second floor. I had to stay on the first floor, the rooms here are in a brick surround which retains the heat badly. No AC, no overhead fan, and very tiny windows. It was impossible to cool the room off. Thankfully after the first night the temperature dropped 10° and at least the very small room was cooler. However, I had to sleep with the windows open and even though they were small, it was a security risk, particularly as a single woman traveling alone, making it very difficult to get a secure nights sleep. Very basic, no frills accommodations. Right on the promenade and very noisy.

I stayed at this place with my family and so far this is one of the worst hotel of Seaside Oregon. The check in lobby smells horrible like cat poo and piss. The rooms it self is very dirty as well and smells like gross poo poo the bathrooms also smells like poo. The toilet also came with a nasty skid mark that was clearly left behind from the previous guest or housekeeping staff.

The room that I stayed in might of been haunted because I ways feel like someone else is in my room, next to me when there really isn't also I hear mysterious whispers at night.

This motel is ideally located right on the Prom. The staff was very friendly and accommodating of every request I made. I was especially impressed that Front Desk employee, Nancy, helped me to lug all my bags up to the second floor. Room #207 was fabulous for watching the fishermen and clam digging folks from my bed every morning.
Moderately priced even on Premium Ocean view rooms. Walking distance to most restaurants and the shops and even the famous Turnaround.

First let me say that I booked this motel with no unreasonable expectations. I knew from reading reviews that this was a somewhat run-down property, with cleanliness issues, but the price can’t be beat for oceanfront location, and I’m not terribly picky about room condition. I travel a lot, and as long as sheets and towels are clean, I’m pretty content. I noted when booking on their website, that the rates are cheaper for their back-side rooms with no ocean views, but it was worth it to me to pay extra for an oceanfront room, so I reserved and pre-paid for a double queen, 2nd floor oceanfront room.

When I arrived at check-in time, the lady in the office checked me in, gave me a key, and pointed to a small concrete structure on the far backside of the parking lot, saying your room is right there. So I politely showed her my reservation confirmation, emailed to me from the motel office, which showed an oceanfront 2nd floor room pre-paid. She became very belligerent at this point, said she had no idea what had happened, but the parking lot room was the only room left and I could take it or leave it, but it was too late for a refund. She then told me it would work fine, as I only needed one bed, and I was lucky because it had a kitchen, and my reserved room did not.

Um. Sure, I have one night at the ocean, I’m sure I want to spend it cooking?? Also, the way she stressed that I was only one person made me feel reasonably certain that she purposefully switched my room because someone showed up who needed two beds, and wouldn’t take the single bed parking lot room. Because I had never said it was just me, so the only way she would have known is if she was looking at the reservation details, in other words, she knew full well she was giving me the wrong room, and was attempting to just power through it as if she had no idea.

I didn’t want to waste my one night at the ocean trying to find alternative lodging, (Saturday night in Seaside? Not going to happen) plus getting a refund would obviously be a fight, so I just took the room. Once upon a time, it was a cute vintage cabin sort of room, it is now a hot mess of cigarette stained and burned furniture, and cleanliness is not a big concern here. (One of the drinking glasses was ironically wrapped in a “sanitized for your protection” paper wrapper. What’s ironic is the glass inside the wrapper had old milk in it). However, from the reviews, that much I had expected going in. I wouldn’t have paid what I did, though, for a back-of-the-parking lot room with no ocean view.

It was in the upper 40’s overnight my evening here, and pretty frigid in the room, but I couldn’t get the heaters in the room to turn on. I slept in full sweatpants and hoodie and a hat. I turned the baseboard heaters up to full blast trying to get something to happen, but they remained cold to the touch until about 4am, when they finally turned on.

When checking out the next morning, there was a different lady in the office, who seemed to be the manager. I asked her about getting a partial refund for the rate difference between the oceanfront room I paid for, and the parking lot room I stayed in. She told me she would need to “research the matter”. Seriously?! What the heck is there to research, she had my reservation confirmation and the rate I paid laying on the desk in front of her. She said after “researching”, she would call the owners, and then call me that evening and let me know what they could do about it.

Would it surprise you to know I’ve never received that call many days later?

The thing is, a little customer service would have gone a long way here. If there had been even a small “sorry about the mix-up”, or an ethical refund of the rate difference, I would have been content and chalked it up to one of those things that happen. The management & staff handled this about as poorly as could possibly be done.

Hands down, the hotel had a great location. It was footsteps away from the beach. However, you really get what you pay for. The rooms were extremely outdated. The worst thing was the smell of the room -- extremely muggy and smelled like cigarettes! The smell was so bad that the first thing we did was drove to Safeway to get some air freshener. :( I promise you I am not an overly picky customer at all, I just want to be real honest in my feedback to help others who may be thinking of booking this motel. Overall, cheap hotel but it's probably worth it to stay somewhere else and pay a few bucks more than to stay here. Trust me, your peace of mind is priceless at the end of the day on your vacation.

Arrived on 10th July 2015, and we had two rooms booked. The first room smelled real musty, the fridge was rusty & the whole place has not been painted or updated since the 1970's
My 10 year old daughter was horrified & begged us to leave but we had already paid the $400 so we stayed.
Our room was no better, the shower was filthy, we put towels down on the shower tray to use it. Sheets & towels were clean but the bed cover had dried blood on it. Carpet was sticky, and very old. Worst place I have ever stayed, please do not even think of booking

It is an older motel but a nice one. It adjoins the Promenade and the beach is on the other side. Our room was clean and we had everything we needed. As with all the beach hotels, don't expect the Promenade to quiet down much before midnight on weekends and in the heat of the summer. The price was right, it is convenient to all the shops and we will visit this one again.
