This place had so much potential but failed miserably. My husband, 2 dogs (an Australian Shepherd and Australian/Golden Retriever mix) and I stayed in a partial ocean view king pet friendly room. The room was small but I guess you could call it cute, it was clean but that was probably the only plus. The partial ocean view was a very small window that you had to be sitting a certain spot to be able to semi see the ocean. When we arrived it was very warm in the room (the high was 65 that day so not that hot). We thought that the heater had been left on but found that the system was just off. We opened up the small side window and turned on the AC (68 degrees) hoping it would cool off. There was a large window that was suppose to open but did not because the latch for the lock was missing. We went and spent some time on the beach then went to dinner and stopped by back the room (4 hours later) and it was hotter then it was before. We set the AC lower (65 degrees) and was just hoping that when we returned it would be cool. We returned around 11:30 pm that night and it was 85 to 90 degrees in our room. Walking in it felt like a sauna! Our dogs instantly started panting and were very uncomfortable. We called that front desk multiple times both on our cell and the room's phone. We also called the restaurant and every number available to try and get a hold of someone. After trying for about 20 minutes and our dogs being obviously over heated as well as ourselves, we tried finding another hotel to stay in but we couldn't find one. So needless to say we attempted to sleep but had to cool off our dogs every 30 minutes or so. It was a long, miserable night making sure that our dogs were as comfortable as they could be and that they were not getting heat stroke. When we checked out the next morning my husband was told that the night manager should of answered our calls (she wasn't rude but seemed very annoyed that we had a complaint) and we were given $30 off our stay. Yes, it was something but still one of the most miserable nights in a hotel room we have had.

I ended up booking a hotel room at the Seaside oceanfront inn with the intent on proposing to my girlfriend of two years, so I booked one of the nicer rooms on the premises that had a bathtub Jacuzzi, queen-size bed a great view of both the Pacific Northwest mountain range as well as a view of the Pacific Ocean. I informed the hotel that I planned on proposing to my girlfriend and they offered to have flowers and champagne waiting for us in the hotel room where we arrived. When we arrived the room was everything I wanted it to be for my girlfriend, there was champagne waiting for us as well as fresh flowers of her favorite kind on the table. She and I enjoyed our first night together in the room at first, and then we discovered that the toilet was leaking and soaked into the bedroom carpet. I tried to get in contact with the front desk which was supposed to be open until 9 PM but no one answered the call at 8:30 PM so I went to go investigate and see if I can find one of the staff to assist. The front office was vacant and the door was locked and no one was on staff that night. So my girlfriend and I did the best we could on soaking up the water that was coming into the room from the toilet, and later on, in the night when my girlfriend went to brush her teeth, she almost slipped and fell in the bathroom due to the water that accumulated on the floor from the toilet. The next morning I told the front desk attendant upon the situation and they said they would send up the maintenance person to check on the toilet and see if they could fix it, so my girlfriend and I went out and enjoy the sights and stores that Seaside had to offer and upon returning we were informed that the maintenance man could not fix it for us and they had to call in a plumber to have it fixed and offered to put us up in a different room. Initially, I refuse and insisted on waiting until the plumber came to fix a toilet (I worked as a general contractor for 9 1/2 years and have done both electrical as well as plumbing. So I understand that fixing the toilet is honestly not that difficult, and by the way, it was leaking it would be an hour job tops in repairing. I didn't fix it because I was a guest on vacation and going to propose to my girlfriend.) My girlfriend and I decided to go up to the room and relax for a moment before setting out once again to explore Seaside when we went up to the room the housekeeping did not clean the room or even bother to take out the trash (although my girlfriend and I saw them working on the room just across from us right when we were leaving earlier. She and I even left the door tag informing them that the room needed to be serviced and they did not do so. )This was around 11 in the morning leaving plenty of time to get in contact with a plumber on short notice to have the repairs done by midafternoon. So my girlfriend and I set out again to enjoy our day and when we returned in the afternoon we were informed that “Their usual plumber could not make it” and offered to put us in a different room. I accepted the offer expecting a room similar to the one I booked and was told that this room was more expensive than my original room due to it having an oceanfront view. After packing up all of our things we headed to the new room we open the door and immediately I was struck with the overwhelming feeling of disappointment. The room was indeed an oceanfront view, and that is all that was good about it. The room itself is smaller than our bedroom at home, the fireplace was not attached to the wall in the distance between the foot of the bed to the fake fireplace was so small that you had to turn sideways to walk from one side of the room to the other. The bathroom was disgusting, you could see paint falling from parts of the ceiling and you could hear the ice machine down the hall from the room. I asked the hotel front desk if I was going to be accommodated for the obvious downsizing/less accommodating room that they put us in due to the unsafe conditions in our prior room. I was shocked to be informed that this new room was more expensive than the original room that I booked, due to the oceanfront view. The only bright side of my stay at the Seaside oceanfront inn was that my girlfriend of two years agreed to marry me and that truly was one of the happiest moments of my life. I wanted the room that I paid for and booked originally and the room I intended to spend my first night with my fiancée in, and what I got was a complete disappointment in accommodations. I would've given this hotel high praise and a recommendation for anybody who was going to stay in Seaside, but after what my new fiancé and I went through I am hard-pressed to give any form of recommendation for anyone who wants to say in the Seaside oceanfront inn. (I usually don't give reviews, but sadly, in this case, I have to make my grievances noted)

Stayed here on a business trip. Beautiful hotel with amazing ocean views. Front desk and staff we worked with were all very friendly and exceptionally helpful. Nice room with beautiful view and walking distance to the downtown area of Seaside OR. We would definitely stay here again. Parking is limited but overflow lot is across the street so nothing that would cause a lower rating in my opinion. Nice hotel. We enjoyed our visit.

Honestly - the view from their top-floor room facing the ocean is wonderful. Hence the 3 rating. If not for that, well, shoot. A $300 a night room with foam blocks for pillows??? Sure, one was a real pillow - but ever try to sleep on a king-sized bed with solid blocks of foam for pillows? And, sure, they replaced some time in the past the carpet on the main floor - but the carpet up the stairs to the shower and tub? I've added a photo - it should have been replaced years ago. And, speaking of stairs - watch it - don't drink when you're in the hot tub - those stairs will get you - they are pretty darned steep. The details are just wrong for this room - which I believe is the best in the place. The sink in the downstairs toilet room - coming off the wall - said wall with some pretty pathetic patching of past "problems". Ever stayed in a room where you pull out a piece of tissue out of the box and it is the only piece there? Well, at least someone put a was of larger tissues in the bottom of the box. Clearly they are struggling to keep the place going - in my opinion.
