We stayed in one of the lodge rooms (note that all the lodge rooms have to share two bathrooms). It is about 7 miles away from the Crater Lake West Entrance. The staff is friendly and the room is very nice and cosy. The food at Becky's cafe is excellent.

Thanks for a lovely two nights stay. We really didn't know what to expect as we have never stayed in a cabin before but we were happily surprised. We were informed straight away of the fires at Crater Lake so we made our way there immediately before they shut the whole place down. Our cabin was so cute with gorgeous... More

The road/driveway is torn up for plumbing and the cabin number was on the blocked side of the cabin. Kitchen supplies are limited. However the cabin location is beautiful and it is 30 minutes from Crater Lake.

It's the only game "in town" at Union Creek unless you want to camp. Great value for the price, but staff was unhelpful and down right cold. I'm sure they are sick of tourists, but really since that's their livelihood, you'd think they'd give it a try. Not really. Lodge room share a bathroom, which they don't advertise clearly on... Anne Marie, We're glad the river sang you to sleep and provided a very restful time. Our lodge rooms are unique and the European-style shared bathrooms certainly add to that uniqueness. We do our best to let visitors know about the Lodge's shared bathrooms on our website. You'll find this paragraph on our website on the Lodge rooms page -... More

Not luxurious, nothing fancy, takes us back to a simpler time. No cell service but they do have wireless that works pretty well. Beautiful location near lots of outdoor activities. Close to Crater Lake and great fishing on the Rogue River. We have stayed in the lodge rooms as well as cabins. Very basic accommodations but all you need for... More

While the location is very nice, this place could be run much better. Upon arrival, and after paying a $49 cleaning fee (and being informed of a tax increase): 1) We found a sign in the kitchen stating that we are to wash and put away all of the dishes. 2) We are also to put all of the towels... Even for a family used to tent camping, we found this cabin nasty. Strong mold smell, mildewed shower curtain, moldy/stained furniture that none of us wanted to touch, sagging mattresses, windows painted shut or missing screens, yard-sale kitchen furnishings, and just dirty overall. Almost as if someone had closed the door 20 years ago and were were the first ones... More

This was on our way to Crater Lake. A little cabin that had what was needed. We were passing through after a long day's drive. This cabin had a little kitchen and a pit outside in case you wanted a fire at night.

We choose Union Creek based on location and it did not disappoint. While we picked Union Creek based on proximity to Crater Lake, we also very much enjoyed the Union Creek area. First, if you are staying here b/c of Crater Lake, it is still a good 40 minutes to the Crater Lake Lodge from Union Creek, although I still... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
It’s a resort that hearkens back to a simpler era. We call it rustic comfort; similar to what you would find in the 1920s when it was first built, but now with modern conveniences and charm. You won’t find golf courses, spa services, or salons. But you will find a well-appointed, authentic lodge set amongst towering Douglas Firs in the Rogue River National Forest. It’s an ideal location to experience Oregon’s great outdoors in a simple, yet comfortably updated resort. All around is the smell of pine needles and the sounds of birds and rushing creek waters. The stunning natural setting includes distinctive Union Creek and the Wild & Scenic Rogue River, hiking trails amongst spectacular 700-year-old Douglas Firs in old growth forests, and nearby Crater Lake National Park – truly a must-see destination. ... more   less
