We stayed in one of the rooms behind the main house which had one queen and two twins which was perfect for our family of four. The kitchenette was perfect for snacks and I was grateful for the tub for a soak after hiking. Nearby Pearsony falls is lovely. We enjoyed the two other falls up the road a bit and also climbing on Avenue of the Giant Boulders. Beckie’s was good for lunch. Our favorite hike at crater lake was up to Garfield ridge just to the right of the lodge. Everyone at the Prospect Historic hotel was very nice. I enjoyed their binder of historical stories about the town and hotel.

Located in beautiful southern Oregon, there’s spectacular waterfalls just down the street, nearby hiking or snowshoeing and of course about 45-60 Minutes away from breathtaking Crater Lake National Park. We were there for cross country skiing along the rim. Only the west entrance is open this time of year which gets you to the visitors center and lodge. Traction devices or chains are a good idea for traveling on the road though the forest service does an admirable job of plowing . Fred and Karen are wonderful, warm ,hosts. The hotel/motel has been has been lovingly preserved. Food is quite good in the dining room.

My wife and I stayed here a few years ago and it was a perfect distance from Crater Lake, which was great. The owners and staff were very kind and the dinner we had was fantastic! (we had steak and salmon). Dinner was better than breakfast, but that happens. Our room was clean and quiet, but we had no control over the temperature in our room, which was unfortunate since it was July. It was an overall nice place to stay and it was a great jumping point to Crater Lake!

We stayed at the hotel for five nights in September, 2019. We enjoyed the beautiful nature during daytime, in particular Crater Lake but also many other attractions in the area. After active days hiking it was a pleasure to come back to the charming hotel and enjoy the dinner at the restaurant. Our hosts Karen and Fred were very helpful to give us information and hiking ideas.

We have just returned from the most memorable 3 days at the charming Prospect Hotel. We booked this location for its close proximity to Crater Lake as we brought our bikes to "Ride the Rim" at the National Park. We were greeted warmly and found our room to be impeccably maintained. We had booked one of their motel rooms, which provided easy access to bring in our bikes. The small refrigerator in our room worked so much better than those used in major hotel chains. The shower provided hot water almost instantly and a wonderful firm spray for our tired muscles. There were numerous places to sit both in and outside the large property; plus the wrap around porch seating beckoned a person to "set awhile". The Dining room was so inviting to walk into each day and all the meals were a "Fine Dining" experience and beyond delicious. The rib-eye was the best we've ever had at any restaurant. The Wait Staff was always attentive and engaging, even amidst a full dining room. The Prospect Hotel was a welcoming view when we returned from our adventures of the day. A Perfect three days!
