The hotel is ideally located walking distance to all things downtown Portland. I chose it because it was the least expensive option in the area, so I didn't have high expectations for it, but it was really very nice with just a couple of issues. Our room was beautiful and spacious; we had a corner room with a little kitchenette,... More

This is the oldest hotel that has been in continual operation in Portland since the early 1900s. They have updated the rooms recently. The decor is beautiful - marble-tiled bathrooms, exposed brick, dark wood beams/columns. The room was not large, but it was perfectly fine for two people. The bed was, by far, the most comfortable hotel bed I have... More

Thank you for such an excellent review! You're absolutely correct in that we're the oldest, continuously operated hotel in the city of Portland! The hotel began in 1907 and is family owned - a true boutique hotel in the heart of the city. We've taken great efforts to infuse old world elegance and modern luxuries to provide our guests with... Stayed here when I was looking at real estate in the Pearl District. Perfect location a few hundred yards from Powell's Books and the Brewery Blocks. Right on the 11th Ave streetcar loop so get a room on an upper floor. They are currently renovating, but the hotel is open and busy. I got up early and came back late... More

We're in a great location of downtown known as the West End, just on the edge of the Pearl District. We schedule all renovation work between 9AM - 5PM Monday - Friday and we make extra efforts to keep... More

The staff are accommodating, efficient and friendly, and the hotel is well located -- between downtown and the Pearl district. But for a property that prices itself in the premium category, there are some surprising lapses. There are no in-room safes, no bathrobes, no grab-bars in the shower and minimal hanging space in the bathroom, and (at least in our... More

Worst hotel we've experienced in Portland. Many reasons, but the main being the shocking customer service. Absolute lack of care by all the staff. Calling room service has massive delays, when arriving at the counter they are busy socialising with each instead of attending to customers. When asked simple questions about breakfast or even checkout time, you're met with a... More

We booked the master suite a couple months before our visit. The reason was, it has two rooms. I called, discussed with reception and she understood we needed two rooms. We received a call the day of our arrival that our room would not be available, however they had two other options(not two rooms). The manager told me he was... More

We had a great stay. Good breakfast to start the day and perfectly timed happy hour to end a day of sightseeing. Great location. Close to Pearl District and many other popular restaurants. Our room was big with a nice sized bathroom that was fully stocked with the essentials.

Stayed at this charming boutique hotel for 7 nights while visiting family in Portland. Location was excellent - an easy walk or tram everywhere, only 2 blocks from Powell Books!
