The exterior of this hotel is beautiful and the rooms are small but very nice. The staff was quite attentive and the location is ideal as it is within a couple of blocks of the train station, a half a block from the bus station, and within a mile of most of the important tourist destinations.

The location is amazing. Powell books is a block away, Broadway is a couple blocks. We walked everywhere. There is a closed-off street right next to the hotel full of outside restaurant seating. It’s even an easy walk to the alphabet district and across the river if you like. I also didn’t feel worried to let the older three wander. I sent the 18 yo to Whole Foods on her own at 8:30pm, and the 16/13 year old took off on foot for a game store across the river. We are in Seattle now, and I’m quite certain I wouldn’t have felt comfortable doing that here. We came as a family. One mom, 4 teens/tweens (ages 18, 16, 13, 11). The kitchenette was great so that we didn’t have to eat every meal out and/or didn’t have to use plastic silverware/utensils because plates and silverware were available, as was dish soap, dish washing cloths, and towels. Coffee was provided by office staff each morning. And although this place was covid-careful and wouldn’t “make-up” our room during the day while we were out, they weren’t ridiculous and would fill my travel coffee mug with coffee. The rooms were quiet and cozy with plenty of space. We did not hear any other guest or street noise during our stay. There’s really nowhere to set anything in the bathroom, and there’s no table to sit at for eating. Parking is simply across the street in a small, visible lot.

I loved my stay at the Mark Spencer Hotel. Joel and Mina made the check in and out process seamless. The room was gorgeous, very spacious. It exceeded my expectations. The fact that there was a stove and everything that I needed to cook real meals blew me away. I was so glad to not eat microwavable meals on this trip. I loved the sheik décor. The staff was amazing. Very friendly and attentive. They went out of their way to make sure that my stay was the best that it could be. They even had a little dog treat bag for my puppies. The location in downtown Portland was great. We were close to everything. We were able to jump on scooters and explore all that Portland has to offer. There are restaurants and shops very close by. I would and have recommended this hotel to all of my friends. This is my new go to hotel when I travel to Portland.

My stay at the Mark Spencer Hotel was amazing. The room I stayed in was the same price as the other Hotels in the area but, the room that I choose (409) was definagtely bigger than others. I came to Portland to spend time with my daughter and her boyfriend, the Mark Spencer Hotel was a great place to stay for the value, access to Hotel and Comfort. It is an older building with modern renovations that gives a vibe of a more mature and sophisticated atmosphere. Joel at the front desk was very professional and accomondating. I really appriciated that he took the time really listen and offer excellent feedback to any of my many questions and concerns. Thank You. I look forward to stay here again in the near future.

This hotel has incredible location and was stroller accessible, which was great. Parking was available for $25/night. Note that covid is restricting them from providing cleaning services during your stay. This frustrated us as our little one is crawling all over and putting her mouth on everything. They do provide fresh towels if you ask. The bed was super soft (we would rather have a more firm bed). The water pressure was great; however, it sometimes took 10 mins for hot water to come. Overall, a good stay...just wanted others to be aware of cleaning services. Not sure if this is the norm for most hotels right now...
