My first hotel stay during COVID times and I felt good about it. The room is called Columbia River Suite (which doesn't make sense to me because it's on the Willamette River - besides that, it lives up to the name), with an over-180-degree view of the park, the east side, the trail, many bridges, and the marina. There is also a soaking tub in which I relaxed, looking out the window at the rising moon, indulging in KitKat, Reese's, and red wine I picked up for free in the lobby. This being COVID time, the restaurant was open for Room Service only, but with out awesome room it was a special experience for us, and maybe the best Clam Chowder I've ever had. Also got a free deviled eggs appetizer. To be honest the stay was not without slight service and maintenance issues, but recent experiences have lowered my standards somewhat, so I feel what I got is as good as could be expected.

I reserved a suite with a fireplace. John, Parker and Cody at the front desk were exceptional. The entire bell staff were great and handled my car, getting an apple charger, wood and other things in a timely and professional manner with a great attitude. I had room service frequently for dinner and breakfast. I believe one of their names was Nicole who, along with the other dining staff (due to Covid-19 they only served room service as King Tide is temporarily closed), were fantastic and every order was well prepared, accurate and efficiently delivered. I couldn't have been happier with the overall service, value, attitude and professionalism of all the staff. I've been staying there for more than 20 years and typically get a suite when in town and have never been disappointed. They recommended a lovely Italian restaurant for take out and to enjoy wine on the walk. I will be back frequently. Luxury service and accommodations. I feel it's the best hotel in Portland, considering all it has to offer and the safety.

The hotel was beautiful right along the River. It was a beautiful walk to take at night near the docks. The room was very clean and spacious. Parker at the front desk was super amazing and friendly! The guys who did valet were super fun to chat with as well. Great stay for 2.

I am really disappointed in the front desk staff. This person does not have any knowledge how to handle issues related to customer service. There was a extremely strong odor in the bathroom and we knew it was not a tobacco, but marijuana. We called the font desk to take a look and got answered they will check in. But, the oder was getting more serious and we called again to check in our room, but no one appeared. We felt really bad about how he responded our inquiry and had to make a third call to ensure he send someone to check our room. In the meanwhile, we had to open all the windows and put my kid in the room and closed the door due to strong odor. Finally gentleman came and checked our room and he totally agreed this is very bad odor and it is marijuana. After that, I came down to front desk and explained that what is going on and asked him bring up any air purifier to my room, but it has not happened until now. He did not even say I'm sorry, but saying they are checking right the hotel to figure out where it comes from and it is really difficult to solve this issue. My expectation was he should be more proactive than what he did. He had to come and check when you raised concern at the first call, not the third. Additionally, he had to manage this issue when he knew it is true. I am still in the room that had a strong smell with opening all windows and put my kid in a room. We are checking mid day, so did not want to pack all our stuff and move to another room. Instead, we asked to bring a "air purifier" to my room, but still not received. Specifically, I strongly not recommend this hotel for any family traveling with KIDS.

I called the front desk prior to arrival and the woman working set me up with a fantastic discounted upgrade for my 30th birthday! The staff was all very friendly while also maintaining social boundaries (some hotels ask so many questions!!). We loved how dog friendly Kimpton is and will 100% keep Kimpton in mind for future travel. We loved the location of the hotel along the river front - so peaceful and relaxing while also not being more than 5 minutes from downtown.
