Great location, amazing staff all contributed to a wonderful girls trip. Perfectly situated for early morning walks along the riverfront with easy access to some of the ‘must see’ Portland hotspots. Afternoon cocktails were amazing….Meghan’s delicious strawberry lemon drops were amazing …she really makes guests feel special with her attention to detail. I enjoyed every aspect of my stay at this exquisite hotel!
As with most kimptons, it is very nice. Helpful staff, great room and a nice view. Very cool location. A bit pricey, but I can see why. It is right on the river, so it is a great place for a walk. I’m glad to see places like this back after Covid. We will stay again
Meghan and Sarah are INCREDIBLE! Like, hands down, life changing, let’s be best friends, amazing bartenders that care about their customers. I’m a Washingtonian that has finally had her first visit to Oregon, well, after this vist with these lady’s, I’m pretty sure I want to be an oregonian.
my room was advertised with a garden courtyard view. When i opened the drapes, it looked like a prison yard, Window look out to other windows in adjacent rooms. Anyone on second floor can open their window and walk over loose gravel to peek at my room. Get a room with a river view, much better. they don't clean the room unless you request. Which we didn't know about a day later when we complained. The girl at the front desk just said that she'll tell the maid to clean our room today. The Shower puts out a weak stream and not having clean towels everyday was a bummer. Make sure you let front desk know you want your room serviced. the nail place around the corner is great. Valet guys was friendly but finding them always a wait.
We loved our stay at the Kimpton! Beautifully designed king suite, with thoughtfully selected amenities that included a yoga mat! Location is amazing, near the riverside perfect for a laid-back stroll. The River’s edge restaurant at the hotel is great too- with a menu that has options for carnivores, pescatarian, and vegans (yeah, can happen in one family). They added nice touch with complementary coffee/tea and wine hour for guests in the lobby area. The staff is super helpful especially, the food and beverage director Stephanie who made the happy hour so fun and welcoming. The front desk is always helpful to any requests - Joseph, Adam and Isabel - proactively answered any of our requests. The restaurant staff, valet, and room cleaning staff all were great! Overall, it will be a no brainer to stay here if we return back to Portland! Loved everything about Kimpton!…
Arrived after 6 hour drive, met by valet Douglas, big smile and friendly. In the lobby Manager Michael welcomed us, made us aware of lobby amenities and took us to James for check in. Later using valets Rich and Richie, we toured Portland and did the river walk. Second night had great dinner at the King Tide. Very impressed with our suite and the hotel staff. Very friendly helpful people.
Stay was overall decent, however dinner was underwhelming, under cooked food, long waits for food, the such. Breakfast was similar but the food was better. The wait staff, Pat in particular, were phenomenal handling customer complaints, bringing food as soon as possible. They absolutely made this trip.
Best location in Portland with easy in and out of downtown. Waterfront walkway is beautiful with a nice little coffee shop where you can sit and watch the river. Best part of the stay was Pat in the breakfast restaurant- friendly, professional, and very helpful!
My girlfriend and I needed a place to stay in Portland before our wedding elsewhere in Oregon. We stayed at the RiverPlace Hotel and were thrilled. The hotel staff was welcoming and helpful, the hotel itself had great amenities, such as a sundry, a refrigerator in the room, a spacious closet, an attached restaurant and several entrances and exits. The hotel's best feature, though, is its location. Location on the riverfront, it is a very short walk to several coffeehouses, breakfast bars, a cannabis store, restaurants, or a simple view of the river. It is about a 30 minute walk or a 10 minute drive to Cascade and Rogue breweries, so while the hotel is not centrally located, per se, it is not far from other attractions in the city. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Portland.…
The best. I had a tech-related crisis that felt like it couldn’t be solved — and the front desk figured out a way to solve it (and bail me out). Wait staff in the restaurant was exceptional, everyone in the place went the extra mile, always. This is how a hotel should be run.
