My favorite new hotel chain is ACE; and the Portland Ace is one of my faves in terms of a friendly most hospitable staff, comfortable casual common spaces + good choices for a co-located café and eateries like Stumptown, Clyde Common and Pepe La Moco. ACE Portland is in a great downtown location off the main CBD but near well-known... More

First impressions are fabulous - a beautiful building and many interesting design features, not least the amazing barn door which acts as a window blind in our room. The lobby, with its one large communal table surrounded by couches, sits between a coffee shop and a bar/restaurant, both of which are open to the public, so it's always a hive... More

I am a big fan of funky, quirky, well thought out hotels. I am an interior designer and really appreciate when someone has tried to make it personal and eclectic- to give an experience. So I love all the Ace Hotels. We were there for one night so we chose the cheap rooms- $125 for a room, except you share... More

Spent a long weekend exploring Portland and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ace. It was perfectly located for walking around the city, was surrounded by amazing restaurants and breweries, and was a super comfortable stay!

We staid in one of their on-suite rooms. No view but quiet instead. The room was very functional but well appointed. The building has four floors but only 1 lift, so you either wait for ages or take the stairs.

This place is straight out of a Wes Anderson film! The walls of the rooms, mostly plain, have wonderfully surreal muralesqe caricatures on them. The design is of an industrial flavor fused with some sort of futuristic 1930's art-deco. The groundfloor lobby has amazing coffee on one side and a bar with dining on the other. The music in the... My 4th or 5th stay at this Portland version of the Ace brand -- I've not ever stayed at any of the others. And, I love this particular hotel's location, staff and hip, quirky, and eclectic property. It's totally in the spirit of weird and wonderful Portland. The hotel is a classic old downtown building and the rooms and hotel... More

I enjoyed the one night stay but be aware these rooms are like staying in an old house. The wall hung sink is visible in the guest room and not in the same room as the shower or toilet. The mattress is quite firm on the platform bed. The old windows make for a drafty room in the winter. It's... More

I booked this hotel because the "name brand" hotels were full. It is super cool looking and the staff were very helpful. The only complaint was that the short platform beds were like sleeping on a futon. Make sure to visit Clyde Commons for lunch or dinner - the food is delicious! Tons of other great places to eat are... More

This hotel was my go-to place to stay in Portland after I moved from the city that holds my heart. The hotel was built in a building basically across the block and around the corner from where I worked. I have stayed here a number of times during trips back to the city and was really looking forward to staying... More
