My recent stay at the Sentinel Hotel was excellent. The staff, especially the valet team, were consistently friendly and efficient, making every interaction pleasant. The room comfort was a standout feature - the bed was extremely comfortable, and the white noise machine was a thoughtful addition that ensured a good night's sleep. The hot shower and the in-room fireplace were perfect for relaxation. Overall, a great experience marked by professional service and excellent amenities. Can't wait to visit Portland and the Sentinel again.

From the front door reception with help unloading our luggage to Reception desk to our Room! Exceptional friendly service!! We were treated with such lovely and unexpected gifts of flowers, chocolates, bubbly for our 2 night stay celebrating my husband’s and my birthday’s!🥳 (86 and 73!! ) We requested a specific type of room and we got it! Our every whim was catered to… including breakfast room service! Our heartfelt thanks to all of ‘Paige’s’ 😉 Concierge’s!! You ALL went the ‘extra mile’ for a couple of Seniors! We felt very looked after, loved and very special! Thank you for making our time with you so memorable! ❤️🥳🎄😘

Lovely hotel, interior decor is amazing and room was spotlessly clean. The room itself was slightly on the small side and could benefit from some space next to the sink for toiletries. Mine were on the floor. We had a room on a high floor with a terrace which again was lovely and access to a lounge with snacks. The drinks cabinet was empty though a couple of times we went in. Just minor points and I would happily stay here again

The hotel is good and clean. People are nice and kind. Generally the hotel is good and good hospitality is good I will recommend someone to come to the hotel. The food is good with enough varieties given the culture.

Good location for exploring the west side, just be aware that you’ll need to get a bus/cab if you want to do anything across the river. Staff very friendly on check in and good throughout. Nice complimentary snack/coffee bar for the suites. Room was clean but a little tired decor wise. Overall great place.

Although Portland is a strange city (for better or for worse), this hotel was well appointed, (love the bathrobe), and absolutely gorgeous. The hotel staff was young and agreeable, super helpful and friendly. The bed was beyond comfortable, and the bathroom has a deep bath that I enjoyed immensely.

Returned 30 years after marrying here. It was so nice to go down memory lane. The staff was helpful, accommodations were comfortable and the location is great. Jake's Grill (the restaurant inhouse) treated us very well.

We booked an Executive Queen Terrace for exactly that, the terrace. The terrace is shabby and filthy and the gas firepit didn't work. Clearly a member of staff had realised there was a problem and just left it until someone complained. When we presented at Reception to ask them to send a cleaner up to the terrace (which clearly had not been cleaned for quite some time), staff were sceptical until I showed them the pictures of debris, dirt and BROKEN GLASS. We returned some hours later to find that cleaning staff had done the bare minimum- they had removed the broken glass hazard but left the dirt and debris. Absolutely disgraceful and disgusting for $280 per night. The hotel is surrounded by homeless people and in a very shady area of town. The room at the end of the hall isn't worth it - it had one can of San Pellegrino in its fridge over 24 hrs. Poor value from a city that should be striving to attract custom. Dirty breakfast trays in corridors at 1630 hrs. Stay in Woodstock - much nicer. The staff here show poor judgment.

Dear KatieDuncs, We are sorry to learn of your disappointment, and we apologize for any oversight in ensuring your terrace was made ready for your arrival. We look forward to connecting with you further regarding this matter while you are still with us, so we can make this right. We have noted your feedback on The Room at the End of the Hall, which should serve as a welcome oasis for guests needing a moment to escape the bustle of the city, and we hope we can earn your higher approval before your departure. Kindly, William Strickland, Director of Guest Services

The staff is friendly. The rooms are nicely decorated and super clean. There is an all-day room service menu from the restaurant downstairs. Good restaurants are walking distance from the hotel, as is shopping and Powell’s books. There are homeless people around, but we did not find them to be aggressive. A nice hotel if you are in Portland for short visit.
