This was our second time staying at the Sentinel. Perhaps it is because of the time of year (late summer, very busy), but our room was not clean. It was actually quite dirty! The floor had not been vacuumed, we found tiny black hairs in towels, and there was some sort of dusty scum along the bathroom door. Ick.

The Sentinel is as funky chic as it is warm and welcoming. A beautiful, historic building in a super convenient location with spacious, comfortable, quiet, beautifully designed rooms (we were on the 6th Floor with a skylight). Bethanie was kind and generous in getting us settled right away although we arrived early. Ryan went above and beyond to help us... More

Got to stay at this hotel one night over vacation this summer and was very nice. We got a free upgrade with our room, which was beautiful. Portland is a beautiful city and it was our first time there and we loved it. Cant wait to make it back someday.

Lovely mini-vacation in Portland at the Sentinel. Stayed three nights, great sleep, quiet room (5th floor) great location. Biked the city on the Shinola bikes provided by hotel...fantastic! My husband needed help with some business issues and the staff was incredibly helpful. Friendly service from check-in, front desk, bell staff and bar. All around great stay in Portland! Would recommend... More

I travel quite a bit for business and stay in my fair share of large hotel chains. Whenever I can, and when budget allows, I try to find a great boutique hotel. Before IHG bought and divested a number of the Kimpton properties, these were my go to places when visiting large cities in the Northwest or Northeast. This hotel... More

Understated elegance in a beautiful old building. The room and common areas were stylish and comfortable and easy to feel right at home. From the valet and the front desk to the engineer, the entire staff was friendly and seemed eager to ensure we had a memorable stay.

Paid 300 a night for a room. Come to find out I've been charged an additional 43 a night for parking. Shouldn't a part of that 300 be spent on parking for your guest. Asked the front desk if there's any must sees in the area. Apparently there's a charge for that as well. For them giving you information.

The hotel is very nice and in a great location. However, on Friday and Saturday nights the main bar turns into a club with a DJ and dance music. At $400+ a night the guests that can afford the room prices will not return. I hope the hotel is happy just to become a dance club. We will not return
