My husband and I finally made it to Oregon to celebrate our honeymoon/1st anniversary trip. This hotel is top notch! The staff went above and beyond to welcome us. We received delicious adult beverages upon arrival, plus a bottle of Champagne in our room with an adorable hand written Anniversary note! They even brought us a 6 pack of the delicious beer to our room when we ran out! The staff were all incredibly helpful and accommodating! And they had great safety protocols in place with hand sanitizing stations throughout the hotel. The room was very cool, and we loved the outdoor terrace! I highly recommend this hotel! Great place to stay!
We stayed at the Sentinel Hotel in 2017 for our wedding and the accommodations, and communication, was exceptional. Now, 3 years later, we came back to have an anniversary night and our expectations were exceeded!! (even during Covid and at the tail end of wildfire smoke!). Check-in was a breeze and we were offered some local wines (in cans) - delightful. Everything was safe and sanitized, and the room was impeccably clean. The tv remote in a custom plastic sleeve represented the amount of detail Sentinel addressed to make for a safe stay. We decided to eat at Jakeknife and wow, we were blown away by the new (southern inspired?) menu! Smoked chicken wings, fried green tomatoes, smash patty melt, and pimento grilled cheese were delectable. And, the staff brought us over a complimentary plate of deviled eggs to die for! As if it could not get any better, the bar crafted three inspiring drinks that were a delightful surprise: Slow Your Roll (my fav!), Southern Belle, and I Reckon. The staff was helpful, courteous, and respectful of social distancing and Covid related measures. All in all we had a great evening! We would highly recommend the Sentinel Hotel and look forward to our next adventure with them!…
I have zero complaints after my two night stay at Sentinel. Our room was very clean and very quiet. The hotel itself has glamorous charm. Almost everywhere you look within the walls of this hotel you'll see vaulted ceilings, stained glass, cool art, and elegant tiles. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The gym has a Peloton Bike and a punching bag and I was able to get some great workouts in during my stay. Even in the midst of the Oregon wildfires and pandemic; I felt very safe and cared for. The restaurant there is called Jackknife, and the food is amazing. I encourage you to try the honey; a mesquite smoked honey, which they make in house. Can't wait for our next visit!
Second to none. This hotel is a gem that shines brighter then the rest of the spectacular boutique hotels in the Portland Metro. The is not a better more positive staff in the city. They go out of there way to make sure you or comfortable and your needs are met. The rooms are impeccably clean. The beds are comfortable and after settle in you can feel the stress begin to dissipate. Thank you Matt Bernard. You have created something special. We will be back. -Tim and Kristy Fire
Stopped by for a night as a through stop on a road trip. Nicky at the front desk was above and beyond with every interaction and I noticed as much with other customers when I was in earshot. Portland is weird right now in this state of the world and it can be felt immediately outside, but inside The Sentinel is a peaceful and comfortable experience within a gorgeous building. Would absolutely come back and recommend. A+ staff.
