The staff was friendly and helpful. Before checkin they upgraded our room to a higher floor due to potential construction on the street that might have been loud at night. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, especially the beds. The food and drinks were great at the bar. Location was walkable to many stores and restaurants.
The staff was really courteous and helpful - luggage porter and valet attendants, front desk, manager, etc. Lobby is clean and nice. Restaurant and bar were open and busy... we had some of our best drinks in Portland at both establishments. Neighborhood is quiet and still recovering from the pandemic, as are most urban areas. We were alert at all times, but felt safe in the hotel. The room left much to be desired. The toilet was dirty (thank goodness I brought clorox/lysol wipes with me). The bathroom floor and carpet had permanent stains, and showed their age. Everything else seemed to be wiped down properly. Bedsheets seemed clean, but were wrinkled and pilled up. We also found three small, thin hairs on one of the beds under the top cover... did housekeeping accidentally leave hair behind while making up the bed or did housekeeping fail to change the sheets and simply remade the bed? The pillows looked crisp and clean. The A/C was so old and so loud. It woke us up every time it turned on and we are not the types who are usually bothered by those sounds. It is the loudest A/C in a hotel room based on the last several years of travels. The water trickling from the condenser also kept us up. And the worst part - the A/C vents could not be moved and the air blew at our heads on both queen beds. We needed to use the extra pillows to block the draft in order to sleep. 15 min stroll to Powell's City of Books. There's a Target just 2 blocks away. 10 min walk to a couple of good coffee shops and 15 min walk to Cheryl's on 12th for breakfast. It is also about a 20 min walk to Dan and Louis Oyster Bar.…
We stayed here 2 nights for a wedding. It is very convenient to Uber everywhere from here. The staff was so very helpful and kind. Aika, Kuba and Derrick at the front desk were amazing and so very patient. Our room was palatial with an amazing view of the city! We were able to walk all over down town and saw a lot of sights. The cleaning staff was so very nice and helpful. ( especially Francisco and Tatiana) I also used the gym. Very clean! The parking garage just 1 block up from the hotel was super safe and provided 24 hour security. We would definitely give this hotel a 10 out of 10 and will go back if we ever need to stay in Portland again!
Really nice hotel, very clean and love the gym, they have a peloton which I ride daily so that was an awesome touch. Food was really good, service was fast and accommodating, also everyone was extremely friendly.
overall good experience (as good as it can be in the warzone of downtown Portland). Pillows were pretty uncomfortable but the room was fine. Location very central. Quick access to other points in downtown or nearby
The Room, the Staff & the cleanliness was perfect! That is basically what we travelers look for!!! We enjoyed our stay very much!!I would have liked to stay longer & be able to enjoy their Food in their Restaurant! Thank you!!
Not necessarily the hotels fault but the neighborhood is a disaster right now with the homeless situation. Bum fights in the middle of the night, car windows broken out, etc. Throw that in with an unhelpful check in person and the lobby smelling like weed nearly every time we passed through was just an overall uncomfortable experience.
Wonderful hotel with charm and history. Everyone helped us have a wonderful stay with good food recommendations and friendly service. This hotel is within walking distance of wonderful restaurants and the food trucks. Would highly recommend if you like a comfy bed with a unique hotel that is not like the chains that all look the same.
Was at the Paramount for a week for a work conference. Nice place. Convenient location. Enjoyed my visit and the access to things to do and see in Portland. Would return to this hotel the next time I’m in the area.
I was here for a conference, first time to Portland, and this hotel was a sweet surprise: a classic beauty with a wonderful, friendly staff and nice views of the city. It’s a great find and one of the best things about Portland today.
