The Paramount Hotel garners appreciation for its prime location, nestled amidst theaters and museums, making it a hit for both leisure and business travelers. Guests indulge in the classic luxury and quietude of its cozy rooms, which exude a vintage charm with a modern touch. While the hotel's cleanliness and efficient service frequently earn praise, some guests have called out additional fees for amenities and valet services. Despite these concerns, the comfortable and well-maintained accommodations contribute to its overall commendable value.

Elegant staff that provides manageable service. Room and hallways are warm, bed comfortable and the sleep quality was perfect. Great value and professional. Fantastic down-town location. Bathroom soaps provided from wall dispensers eliminating single use plastic. Nice touch! Parking at the hotel was $45.00 daily. The only bummer!

We brought the entire family, inc grandchildren, for 3 nights. Their promo rate was too enticing, given that we stayed here before about 3 years ago and liked the rooms, location, and proximity to shops and restos. Breakfast is not included in the rate but the Swine adjacent to the lobby is convenient and tops.
Housekeeping is on 72H delay, ie, every third day, but fresh towels and emptying trash cans available daily. The AC works but it's not intuitive.
Parking is easy at the garage 1/2 block away at $20 daily. I saw too many busted out car windows to leave it outside.
Since the homeless situation is now hopeless, one of them likes to hang around the front of the hotel. When she scared my grandson with her sudden scream, he was always on the look for her, and the memory still haunts him.

Alohatripper, thank you and your family for allowing us the opportunity to welcome you back! We do apologize for the lady experiencing homelessness that upset your grandson, we are aware of her. She seems to spend a few days in our area then goes away for weeks at a time.

Have stayed many times at the Paramount Hotel, which has a great location in downtown Portland, within walking distance from many restaurants, sites and the great Powell’s Bookstore.

Our room was well appointed and very comfortable, but the only issue was a great deal of noise at 5AM due to garbage hauling outside in the alley on the side street.

Be sure to request a room at the front of the property to avoid this issue.

WellTraveled3, thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. We do apologize for the garbage truck, that noise is a small hiccup from being in a centralized location with a large number of restaurants and retail establishments around us. But we appreciate you for being a repeat guest and always coming back! We'll be seeing you again soon!

I had a good stay here - the hotel is located within walking distance of anything you want to see in downtown Portland. My room was lovely - large, with a balcony and an easy chair with lamp. Ordinary bathroom, but clean and plenty of big towels. There is a coffee machine in the room but it's ... well ... Starbucks. I noticed some of the front desk staff were friendly and others not so much. Ed, the concierge, was really eager and helpful. You can borrow an umbrella if it's raining (it is Oregon) but you have to sign it in and out and if you lose the umbrella they'll charge you $40. I've never seen that before. Being Portland, there are so many places to have coffee and eat at any time of day. The hotel bar was funky, great vibe and excellent wine list. I had a great stay and the front desk was happy to store my luggage for the day. I'd stay here again.

The place was pretty but the room was dirty and was not cleaned although we were told it would be once during our stay as per covid protocols. My partner and I have severe dust allergies therefore we need the room to be dust free, it looked like the haunted mansion with all the dust when we walked. Also the two people I felt with at the front desk were not knowledgeable at all which resulted in come having cot pay in a different way than I wanted/expected (I CALLED BEFORE I booked to check) and having to walk to and from the garage several times just to get a spot I had paid for and being charged extra! The hellos when you walk in and leave are nice but if the staff doesn't know what they're doing they are little more than a formality.

Staying in a King , Corner, District “park” view room on the 14th floor and view is dominated by huge building construction and a crane two blocks away. We chose this hotel and payed extra for a pleasant, expansive view ... reception could not move us, and apparently this is the best view available in the hotel. For $220 per night you can do way better!! Also , hotel is using Covid as an excuse to only clean rooms every other day, without lowering the price to compensate for less service.

My sister and I traveled to the Pacific NW for the first time from North Carolina. We weren’t familiar with the Paramount brand, but decided to try to our in both Portland and Seattle. We weren’t disappointed.

This Portland property is located walking distance from several attractions/places of interests. We walked to breakfast, lunch and dinner each day as well as to the Portland Art Museum and Powell’s Bookstore.

Ride sharing and public transportation are also easy to use to/from the property and around town. Restaurants and little places to shop were in plenty.

The hotel staff were helpful with giving directions and responding to our requests for clean towels & cloths.

We used Uber from the airport and Lyft to the train station (we caught the train to Seattle). The train station was a walkable distance from the hotel, but since it was raining and chilly, we used ride sharing. There is public transportation also but we walked everywhere we needed to go in the city.

The restaurant Swine was great for breakfast as well as a night cap. The server, Eusebio, was amazing!

The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

Excellent stay! Feels like home!
I had a wonderful stay at the hotel, The housekeeping team are great. In particular Afsal who is very attentive he ensured the room was cleaned well and all amenities were placed as requested. Housekeeping supervisor name Cecil never fail to approach us everyday during our stay, she is always more than kind enough, she look into our every need and try to fulfill it with the best of her effort. We'll definitely come back!

The hotel was absolutely beautiful. We booked our stay in January for an early April visit. We booked on the look of the hotel, but mostly the bar and restaurant because they both looked absolutely amazing. They ended up being closed due to COVID. Our room also ended up not being available because of the way they were rotating floors because of the pandemic. They called us a week ahead of time though and let us know our options including a refund which was nice because we selected the non-refundable rate. We found something that worked, and everything with our stay was splendid. Can't wait to come back and check out the bar and restaurant! Our next trip will be after this is all over.

The things we always look for in a hotel are cleanliness and a comfortable bed and we found both at The Paramount. The room was typical but nice, the AC is very good and we were able to get the room to a cool 60 degrees. The bed was wonderful and provided two very good nights of sleep. The staff is very friendly, the location gave us walking access to Powell's Books, a couple of record stores and some very good street food. The price was better than most other hotels in the area so we found to be an excellent value and will stay there again is we're in the area.

Hi ednabear7, Thank you for your question. The guest who posted the review about bugs stayed in room 1101 and the photos she sent us were of carpet beetles and have been treated. Hotels live in fear of bed bugs and because we do, we train our cleaning staff and managers to always be on the lookout for signs of them. I am able to personally inspect most rooms where we have received complaints and have not found a bed bug in a room in the last few years. When we get a complaint, we quarantine the room and start a very thorough process of searching. If nothing is found, all linens and pillows are put in the dryers as an extra precaution as the heat will kill anything and then we bring in a pest control company to re-inspect and then treat the room as an additional precaution. If something is found, we bring in a company which will essentially put all the room contents in a hot box and superheat it for a day. If you have concerns, you should always address them with the hotel immediately. It is equally important to us as I’m sure it is to you that we are bug free. Please feel free to contact me directly if you have further concerns. Sincerely, Norm Hwa General Manager 503.276.1764
