The Hotel location could not be better. It's within 2 blocks of Powell book store, Whole Foods is across the street, not to mention everything else downtown Portland has to offer. On the property there is a very cool bar downstairs (OM gosh the Manhattan Martini was fabulous!), live music/comedy and the main restaurant has tables in a sunny outdoor... More

Old historic building, floors creek, charming rooms, each decorated in homage to a famous music artist. Mine was Blues <Someone> (sorry it's been a few years, I forget at this moment). Bath was shared, but sink in room. Great hot tub in basement, not too hot, saltwater, cascading water falls, tiki theme. Very memorable and relaxing. Located near Powell's Books.... More

Each of the McMenamin's hotels are a wonderful get-away though the Crystal Hotel is a magical location in the heart of the city. With a seemingly secret pool made just for you (and maybe 50 of your closest strangers for friends ;) to float in after a long day of lounging, and the Zeus cafe and bar just upstairs it... More

I must preface this review with a few things... 1.) Prime location - the Crystal Hotel is in a prime, prime, prime location. So many cool things within a few blocks besides the hotel. Can't stress this enough. 2.) Went during gay pride week - It ended up being a bad time to visit. Hotel was in the "triangle"...so people... More

We loved the sidewalk/bar cafe', great food, especially the chick pea fries! They have a wonderful music venue downstairs, saw an amazing Grateful Dead tribute band, acoustics are amazing. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. Other guests we talked to really enjoyed the pool as well. Hope to stay there if we go back. Also check out the... More

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night. (Thankfully..) The location of this hotel is superb. You could walk everywhere. There are many good restaurants nearby. We travel with our dog this time. The hotel is pet friendly ($15 charge per night). However, due to the road noise and noise from the outside our room ( the common toilet was... More

Angeldreamz, Thank you for taking your time and giving your feedback. It's interesting to read that the desk staff just stood there, without offering help... (something to mention to them). We thank you you staying with us, and though this wasn't the best hotel for your stay, we appreciate your review. More

I was worried about the shared bathrooms, but that wasn't an issue at all. I never had to wait and they were conveniently located. The pool was quirky and cute and you can drink down there!! The only part keeping this from a five star review is the set up of the twin room (the door won't even fully open... More

When I first booked this hotel I was concerned about the shared bathroom situation. All of those worried faded away as soon as I checked in! What a lovely place. So eclectic. Each room is based on a song by a band that has placed the Crystal ballroom. The Zeus cafe downstairs is delicious and the basement soak pool is... More

Having spent over $400 for 2 nights and got absolutely no sleep, I really want to give this a 1 star, but---I'm trying to get over that and see the charms that others see--those who can sleep through music, recycling, garbage pick up, the noises upstairs and next door, the lumpy bed, the HVAC system. It's a lovely shared bath... More

Ouch StaceyLeeDee, It sounds like we were not the hotel for you...Nothing seemed to work, according to your review. I'm not sure if there was ever any resolve, to any of the issues you commented on, but I am available to talk to any time during the day. 503-972-2670, Dametris. Nonetheless, we really are appreciative of your feedback. Thank you. More
