Our four night stay at Brooklyn Center Suites was perfect. The location is ideal - easy access to downtown and Sellwood shopping, walking distance to neighborhood markets, coffee shops, park and entertainment. The room is comfortable and the kitchen is well appointed. The hosts are welcoming and genuinely pleased to accommodate guests. We look forward to our next stay!
Jane was wonderful to work with! Our plans changed due to last minute requests from our daughter and she worked with us to make it happen. We were accommodated with an early check in on the day that we arrived. My husband was skeptical at first as they don’t really book through traditional channels and are not a hotel but it suited us perfectly. We were greeted with a personal letter and Jane checked in with us with a personal phone call during our stay to make sure that everything was satisfactory. We knew that, should we have any problems (which we didn’t) Jane would take care of it personally. Wonderful hostess, perfect location for our needs and should we need to return to Portland we will contact them first.
We loved the kitchen & being able to prepare our own meals during a 2+ week stay assisting our daughter & grandson with their move to Portland. The location was great in many ways: nearby coffee, groceries & necessities, MAX Yellow Line a 10 min walk away, easy parking, easy car access over the river, & good restaurant options both north & south within a mile or so. WiFi worked well & we enjoyed the early morning light from our camping chair outside the front door.
This was the perfect place for us. Our priorities were new, clean and central location at a reasonable price. It’s a hidden gem for those who want a very clean, practical place to use as home base while in PDX. Jane is a gracious and personable host and her personal touch is evident. Much better than a generic hotel.
Great place very accessible to anywhere in Portland. Well set up for cooking meals and has the cooking dishes necessary for preparing meals. We have stayed here several times and are really happy. The owner is very friendly and helpful easy to work with and very responsive
We recently had the pleasure of staying two nights at the Brooklyn Center Suites and it was absolutely wonderful. It is in a perfect location to get to downtown Portland and sight see, plus the neighborhood itself offers multiple shops and restaurants within walking distance. The room was cozy and super comfortable, I would highly recommend staying here on your visit.
Stayed at Brooklyn Suites while taking a four day class at Bullseye Glass. The room was exactly as advertised, was very clean and came with everything I needed. The neighbourhood was quiet getting to Bullseye was very easy. I would highly recommend this location.
My wife and I stayed July 19 and 20th. 2017. What a great place - excellent use of square footage. It really fit all of our needs and was so close to the Aladdin theater, We were attending a concert on the 20th. The suite was so class, clean and spotless with all the amenities. The air worked excellent for AC or fan. All of the extra touches were appreciated. The kitchen utensils, the fixtures-- the wonderful planters, flowers and tasty sitting area, free parking etc. Sure made our trip. We got to see a wonderful concert at the historic Aladdin and experience the Brooklyn neighborhood. We felt safe and everyone was so nice. The Lamp Tavern right next to the Aladdin was so much fun to go to before the concert. The help could not be more accommodating or nice in a totally over busy situation. Thank you Jane for offering all of this at a very affordable price compared to anything near this quality in downtown Portland. We will be definitely be checking out the Brooklyn suites for our first choice. We plan on returning for many more concerts. The Romero's.…
After my disenchantment with the prices of hotels downtown, I found Brooklyn Center Suites. It was much more affordable, with restaurants within walking distance and convenient access to mass transit. I stayed three nights and appreciated the proximity to downtown as well as Division Street restaurants. It was clean, comfortable and safe. Jane surpassed by expectations by picking me up and dropping me off at the Amtrak station. I would definitely stay here again.
My husband and I stayed here for three nights while attending a three night concert at the Aladdin Theatre. We wanted to find a place within walking distance to the theatre because we planned on having drinks at The Lamp and heard that taxis were hard to find after the shows. The Brooklyn Center Suites is the only place I could find within walking distance. I have to be honest...I was a little apprehensive about booking, because the only place I could find any info on it was right here on Trip Advisor. After I spoke to Jane (the owner) I felt much better. We arrived to find a newly renovated suite that was better than we had expected. The suite had everything we needed. The queen sized bed and linens were comfy. The glasses, wine glasses, dishes, cutlery, pot and pans, kettle etc were all really nice. Not cheap or junky. The suite had all the usual needs for guests such as shampoo, soap, dish soap, coffee, tea, wifi and was spotless upon arrival. There are only two suites available and they are located in a unique little building detached from another business building, in a residential area. I felt safe here 100% of the time, even when we walked back to the suite late at night. The only thing that you may miss while staying here as opposed to a hotel, is a swimming pool or hot tub. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to staying here again when we attend another show at The Aladdin.…
