We have been to Portland many times but tend to stay at some of the very nice hotels in the outlying areas, such as the LLoyd Center. This time we stayed downtown at the Dunaway and it was superb. I had asked for a corner room and when I got what I wanted but didn't like the location of the TV and that there was only one window the good folks immediately relocated to what I wanted but had not asked for. The staff and management have made the best of these challenging covid times. And we appreciate that. There is also nearby parking. But in the end it is the people who make the difference and I first want to say how really superb Nur was--a nice balance of cordiality and professionalism. And we were fortunate to have her there for all three days. Angelica was also very good. Each should take pride in their talents as should management. So, I fully recommend for a city getaway now or in "normal" times.

I usually do not feel the need to write reviews but I want to thank the amazing front desk ladies, Angelica and Nur for the outstanding hospitality! Every request was not only met, but exceeded. From check-in to check-out! Angelica listened to our requests and delivered a perfect room for our needs! She provided AMAZING recommendations that really made our trip in Portland! She also texted us through out our stay to make sure everything was good! A+!! At check-out Nur quickly recognized us without needing to ask for our names. They truly make you feel like family. The hotel is amazing, the rooms are spacious, clean, and amazing views, but I will say what blew us away was the personable service these ladies provided. Great job hiring these two Hilton!

The front desk guy, tobby was awesome. So friendly, hospitable, and overall a good human being. If you plan on staying here please talk to tobby he will accommodate you find places to eat for you, and also ideas for adventure in the area. Besides the fantastic clean room tobby made my stay a 5 star.

I recently had an excellent brief stay in downtown Portland (my first trip to the state of Oregon) at the Duniway hotel. Because I am a Hilton Honors member, I chose the Duniway because of its price and availability. I wasn't exactly sure where to stay in Portland but based on the map of the surrounding areas I figured it would be a great place for a first timer to experience the vibe of the city. The room itself was very spacious and clean, and at the 18th floor, very quiet. The front desk staff member, Nur, was awesome, very friendly, attentive, and helpful. There were a few adjustments based on the covid-19 pandemic. Face masks were required on hotel property and daily cleanings of room was not done (not a problem for me as extra towels and supplies are readily available if you need them). As I drove into the city, I chose to park within the hotel parking lot which was $33 a day with 24 hour access in/out (there's a cheaper $25 dollar option in a lot away from the hotel that is monitored by security but not accessible 24/7). Even with all the one-way streets I was surprised at how easy it was to navigate and drive around the city. Several notable sights are within easy walking distance of the hotel, including Pioneer Square and Voodoo donuts. As I eat vegan, there's many great options for vegans. Right around the corner from the Duniway there's a Veggie Grill as well as a Qdoba both of which have great vegan options. Voodoo donuts had the best vegan donuts I ever had. Sizzle pie had the best vegan pizza I ever had (they have eight vegan options). And of course there are great food truck options including the Fifth Ave food cart pod. The only unfortunate aspect of my stay was that, understandably, many attractions were closed off to the public. This included Powell's City of Books, Pittock Mansion, various museums, and Multnomah Falls. However I did get to see the Japanese Gardens (not very big but still beautiful and worth it) and took a 2 hour drive to beautiful Cannon beach. The Wiliamette river is also within easy walking distance of the hotel and a nice pleasant walk for exercise. Overall I really enjoyed the somewhat laid back vibe of the city, and even with recent events I never felt unsafe at any point. I definitely plan on going back one day when things are back to normal.
