Leaving their high-tech lives behind in San Francisco, Dusty and Steve moved to Portland in 2002. From the moment they laid eyes on Lion and the Rose Victorian Guest House, they knew this historic home with its wrap around porch, garden court, grand dining area, and eight charming guest rooms was meant to be shared with others. Authentically vintage yet up to date, every room is air conditioned and equipped with cable TV, free wifi, a computer and printer, and internet access. Each guest room also has luxurious bed linens and towels and an amazon Echo with Alexa. These master hosts are delighted to share their mansion and the city's natural beauty with you.

We felt at home in the lovely spacious BnB. The hotel in in a great location. The Victorian architecture and decor are unique and sort of fun. Most importantly we hung out a bit in the parlors and chatted with the hosts and other guests. It gave us a feel of having a place in Portland.

I can not speak highly enough about my stay at Lion and the Rose! The location was perfect for the purposes of my being in Portland. The bed was so comfortable I slept soundly. The room was spacious and pretty in the Victorian style. My needs were met and expectations exceeded!

In the Air BnB era, great BnBs are dying out. Ones like Lion and the Rose in 100+ year old Victorian homes in historic areas are not to be missed. The house is excellently maintained, architecturally beautiful, and the hosts are warm and welcoming. I did not have time to partake in the full service breakfast but even just for the cost of my room, I was still offered a good selection of teas, fruit, cereals, etc in the kitchen. And there are snacks and candy in the common rooms for all guests to enjoy. Street parking IS tight but time it right and you can find something within a block or two. Worse case scenario: you “have” to walk a few blocks and enjoy the craftsman style and other historic homes all around. There’s also a lot of food options within two blocks. I would f Definitely stay here again

We greatly enjoyed our stay here for two nights as we wrapped up our exploration of Oregon. The home is huge, sturdy, historic, and beautiful. We found the location to be very convenient. While here, we wandered the adjacent Irvington Historic District, walked to dinner (Petisco) and dessert (Eb & Bean), and walked to the Lloyd Center MAX station (for a trip to Washington Park). And we drove to several other sites. Both breakfasts were great, and we enjoyed the fact that one of the owners joined us for interesting conversation. The wraparound porch was a great place to linger with our coffee in the morning. Our room was roomy and luxurious.

I had such a wonderful relaxing time here. If you're into historical houses, this house and this neighborhood is for you. I spent time walking around leisurely and sipping drinks on the porch. I felt like I was back home in the South! Loved it.
