Had a great 2 night stay here. The house and huge and in pristine condition. Bed was very comfortable, rooms were spotless, and breakfast was delicious with fresh baked almond cake one morning and fresh baked Madeline the following morning. Inn keepers were very friendly and accommodating of our late check in.

My wife and I just spent a great 4 nights at the Lion and the Rose. This historic Victorian house is beautiful, in a great neighborhood, and a convenient base for exploring Portland. Downtown is a short transit ride (or pleasant 20ish minute walk) away. Steve and Dusty were friendly hosts – a mix of being helpful when called upon... More

We booked two rooms on the go on our way back to Seattle from California. The web site was easy to navigate and when we arrived Steve welcomed us with cookies, jelly beans and cold drinks (it was close to 100 degrees that day!). My 19 year old son had his own room and he was very happy. The rooms... More

I stayed two nights at the lion and the Rose Victorian bed-and-breakfast. It was fantastic. I was there celebrating my mother's 80th birthday, and my sister's 60th birthday. Our room was beautiful. Our breakfasts were superb. Such a great location to go running in the morning and check out the shops and restaurants within walking distance. Wonderful weekend!

The inn's website is exceptionally thorough, saving us from having to research its surroundings. Restaurants, shops, public transportation and more are detailed online, and printed copies of the same information are available. The way the inn is run is equally thoughtful. We were shown around the spacious, historic property and informed about house rules. We were impressed by the efficiency... More

The place is amazing but the people there made it a wonderful weekend. Definitely staying here next trip back. Were able to walk to the Pearl District as well as to dinner, booze and other local attractions.

We were overcharged for our room after they moved us to a different room. I asked if there was a price difference (knowing this room was cheaper) and I was told I was no. I pointed out that there was indeed a price difference as they list these prices online- it's not a secret. I suggested that they provide breakfast... More

I do apologize for your experience. Every now and then we fail to meet the needs of our guests. I don't have enough information from the review to identify the room, the day and the guest although it sounds like a 1-night stay ate the end of July or beginning of August (our business period). We generally do not change... More

This was a very well-kept bed-and-breakfast. The breakfast was really great the room was very comfortable and the owners were wonderful. Would definitely do it again. The stay was a gift for my daughter on her birthday. I just wish there was a man cave room :-)

We had the Rose room on the entry level. Was a wonderful stay. Hosts are gracious and breakfast was very nice. We would definitely recommend this beautiful bed and breakfast inn. The inn is walking distance from a nice pub and fantastic restaurants.
