Starting with Will, the most congenial valet ever, at the curbside with boku luggage and then whisked through registration with lovely Ava ,we knew this was our kind of hotel. The bartender/server gregarious Meghan not only mixed incredible martinis, she got food on the table with record speed. Food was fabulous served in the bar!! Daniel the Assistant General manager has assembled an extraordinary staff--speaks well of his leadership
Staff is exceptional, polite, professional and accommodating for anything and everything we needed. Words are not enough to express there kindness. Room is spacious, clean and comfortable. Bathroom has all you need as far as shampoo, conditioner, bath gel and towels. Nice magnifying vanity mirror. Hair dryer. No body lotion. Bed and pillows were comfortable and cozy. Most important it accommodated my pet. Restaurants, cafes and bakeries are all walking distance. We are grateful we found this gem of a hotel.
Nice hotel with great staff. Room was large and decorated nicely. Lobby bar was great, they had a featured winery on Friday night with the vintner pouring his favorites. Bar food was great. Front desk staff was top notch. Will definitely stay here again when visiting Portland . Walkable to great restaurants.
The hotel was great. We enjoyed how close it was to many fun restaurants and coffee shops. Beds were very comfy. We had such a nice time connecting with Meghan at the bar. She is incredibly friendly, kind, and passionate about making people feel welcome!
Meghan is the night bartender and she is great! She makes me the best espresso martini and makes my stay at the hotel much better! I also love the location and appreciate how friendly the entire staff is!
Conclusion: I stayed at Kimpton Vintage Portland for 3 nights. The hotel is cosy with a perfect location downtown Portland. I like the social hour a lot, where the hotel is servering a glass of wine in the game room, when there at the same time are live Music in the bar. There is a lot of dogs in the hotel. Review: I toke the train from the airport to the hotel. The price was USD 2,50 compared to an Uber, who was USD 60. The train took 40 min and worked very well. If you have your own car the hotel offers vallet parking, but you will also find a parking garage across the street. Overnight parking in the garage is USD 24. The check-in was fast and efficient and the staff was really kind and helpful. I was upgraded to larger suite, which was a huge one. The room was a bit dark due to the painting of the room, and trees outside the windows were blocking the sun. The room was clean and wi-fi was easy to access and it worked fine. There was a weird smell of wet dog in the room. When you need food, you have to leave the hotel, because the restaurant is closed. You can not even get breakfast at the hotel, but you will find different other option just around the corner. There is a cosy bar in the lobby, where you can get snacks, but is not open every day - only Wednesday to Saturday. The hotel is located downtown Portland, where you will find shops, restaurants and bars in the neighborhood. Go to the Pearl district - it is cosy and relaxed. The hotel have bikes, if you are up for that.…
I judge hotels based on many factors. One that will kill it for me is no heat/ac and no hot water. This one had no hot water. I let it run 15 minutes in the shower with the sink running too. Nope. NONE. You don't really notice after using the bathroom and washing your hands. It usually gets warm about the time I'm shutting it off. The hotel was in a decent area with an easy walk to the square and Nordstroms and this little card shot called Ecru. Love it. Also easy walk to dinner. The valet was friendly enough with great advice. The front desk was so accommodating. The room I had chosen in my reservation was available (a win these days) and was charming. The hotel is funky kimpton as you imagine them to be. Quaint. Nothing was wrong until I arose at 205 am so i could get get to the airport by 330 am, no hot water. So frustrating. I did the bird bath routine. Grabbed an iced tea and much to my surprise, my car was waiting for me (they took a note the night before to have it ready at 3 am). Fix the hot water and the really warm open air atrium that makes the hallways pretty unbearable when it's even 70 degrees outside.…
From the time we pulled in, the staff were welcoming, friendly and professional. The valet, the front desk staff, and particularly Meghan in the bar made us feel like it was our home. Our room was lovely, comfortable, modern yet cozy. We will be recommending the Kimpton Vintage to anyone headed this way!
I stay here nearly every month. This is the only place I stay in Portland. In addition To the great space, the staff are excellent. A special shout-out to Ava, Brie and Meghan who always make you feel extra special and welcome!!!
My boyfriend and I stayed for the weekend & it was absolutely amazing. We came to celebrate his birthday and he had the best time. The staff made our experience outstanding, especially Bree at the front desk! She was so accommodating, and even put in a request for something special for my boyfriends birthday. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay.
