I chose the Econolodge because we were going to the Moda Center and it was very close. The outside looked worn down when we pulled up. The check in room was a sliding glass door with a very small space toenter. I felt a little unsafe. We entered the room, and again, it was very small. We had a refrigerator and a tiny coffee maker. The room and bathroom were clean. The bed had old styled bedding, but was actually a very comfortable sleep. It was a very tiny room for the amount of money we paid. The best thing I can say is that it was clean inside and close to the Moda Center.

I checked in and showed him my Choice Hotel card which has my membership # on it. He printed out the registation ppwk' and asked me to sign it. I told him my number wasn't on it. He said this is just the registration. When I checked out I got a reciept which did not have my # on it. So, now because he didn't do is job, as he said he did, I'll have to file ppwk' to insure I get the points I earned. He's just lazy and more.......................

4 guys wanted to be close to downtown without spending money. If the streetcar hadn't been offline (not the hotel's fault), this place would have been super convenient and yeah, cheaper than anything else around. However, the rooms were gross, just not appropriately clean with hair in the bathroom and used kleenex on the floor. Hire a maid already! We should have crammed ourselves into a double queen room at a real hotel or used AirBnB.

Coming back from Washington state and had one night to spare before heading back east, we decided to find a place closest to downtown on a specific price. Tada! Econo lodge! The good, price wise I know I could have gotten a better or close to the same price with better facilities but, the location is good. The street street car stops in front, ample parking and your own incense scents waffling thru your room. Wifi, I wish they move the router closer to the middle. The rooms towards 221 dont get strong wifi. Breakfast? Coffee juice and packaged pastry..love the names though. Snails, horns and claws. Pastries. Staff seems family run, smiley bunch.

We were in Portland for a trade show at the convention center and wanted to find a reasonably priced hotel nearby. We found the rooms to be clean yet dated. The hotel is right on the light rail line so it made it easy to get into downtown if we wanted. We were within walking distance to the convention center. The place could use a bit of updating, the exterior especially. The TV was not working in our room, but the manager informed us at check in. Since we were essentially working on this trip, TV was not a high priority for us. However, we could not get the wifi to work properly. We read other reviewers complaining of the smell of curry. We did notice this at check in, we had a room just above the manager's unit and yes you could smell it. It was not so much that we

One thin blanket with a huge hole in it, Cold room, Internet not working, traffic noise, shoddy steps and furnishings, no plug for bath. Breakfast- horrid packaged pastries one might find in a vending machine. Pretty bad. On the plus side, the maid did a great job , it seemed very clean and the location is great for walking to the pearl district. I would not stay here again. The desk guy , a most unpleasant character.

I was expecting a better stay. Staff were friendly, the rooms were pretty clean, but the beds were really uncomfortable and the curtains didn't block the light. A few improvements would make this the best place ever to stay. Dang it!

Staying at this hotel was the most terrible experience ever! Our company was paying for the hotel room and they did not have email, only a very archaic fax machine. The owner was very rude and said that everyone had to wait outside until the fax came through and they kept asking for tweaks to be made to the authorization form - they kept saying their property has all these rules (which did not really make sense) it was freezing outside and they were so rude and at that point, we felt we needed to jump through their little hoops because they had our credit card number and it was too late to cancel the room. We were so frustrated and when we told them that the experience was very frustrating, they told us that they could refuse to rent us a room if they wanted to ... if I knew

My husband and I stayed here for one night in late November. Just a quick trip to see a concert in downtown Portland. We didn't want to spend a fortune on a room we wouldn't spend much time in so chose this place based on decent reviews. We weren't disappointed. Quick check-in, friendly front desk staff, clean and spacious room, comfortable bed, cable, and FREE PARKING. Great access to the street car or bus (stops are right across the street), and just a mile or so from downtown. Good spot for a great value.
