Hotel's Favorite
My husband and I try to stay here once a year around his birthday. We look forward to this staycation all year long as we both don't have many opportunities to get away from the kids. We were beyond amazed with the renovated hotel. Formerly the Marriott City Center, The Bidwell is gorgeous! We love all the natural wood throughout the building and the High Horse bar is so nice. Bradley at the bar was very nice and made me a custom cocktail since I am picky and very rarely drink. It was yummy! We spent most our time in the high floor room with views of the north side. Maybe we have to stay twice a year now lol! My parents will be visiting in the summer and I told them to stay here.

Hi GigglyMama, Wow! What an awesome review of your stay...thank you!! I'm so happy to hear you had an amazing parents getaway (definitely a time to be treasured). Fun fact about the natural wood throughout the hotel: It's responsibly sourced from a farm in the PNW and made from trees that have already fallen down. Not only can we love the look, but we can feel good about it too! I look forward to sharing your feedback with Bradley (isn't he rad?!) and the rest of our team! We are especially excited to host your parents this summer; please reach out to me personally when you're making travel arrangements so I can ensure you and your parents the best stay. We appreciate you for spending your special time away with us, and we can't wait to start welcoming you back for your *quarterly* visits! Warmest Regards, Jamelyn Rothans Guest Satisfaction Ambassador jamelyn.rothans@thebidwell.com

This is a belated review, as I stayed in February 2022. But the experience my partner and I had was incredible, and I really wanted to make sure that the Bidwell gets its due credit. The Bidwell is the best Marriott property at its price-range, and as a frequent flyer I can recommend that it meets my criteria for both business and personal travel. The lounge breakfast was great (3 hot dishes in addition to a standard continental spread, with great drip coffee). The rooms have everything you need and are very unique, and way closer to a boutique then it is to a Marriott. You get all the perks and benefits of being in a Marriott property, while still having a unique experience that does well in bringing in design elements of both Portland and the PNW. If you are coming here on a personal visit or for a special occasion, I would definitely recommend spending a little extra on getting a corner room, and seeing if they have availability on the higher floors. We stayed at a corner room on the top floor, and had amazing views of Mt. St. Helens. The extra space is very nice, and we spent a very nice morning just taking in the views while sipping on the, again, very good coffee from the lounge. Brandon and team are doing great things with the Bidwell, and I cannot wait to see how the Bidwell will grow as travel normalizes again post-covid.

I stayed four nights at the Bidwell Marriott Portland on a solo getaway, and it provided the perfect base to explore Portland. The property is recently renovated, with an updated lobby that is welcoming and has a very Portland vibe. The front desk team made check-in easy, and they always had a friendly greeting when I arrived back at the hotel. They were also happy to help with requests. Room cleaning only happens upon request now, and toiletries are not provided in rooms (other than the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash found in the shower), but the reception team was happy to arrange these things for me upon request. Great customer service. My room was spacious and quiet, despite being near the elevator. Everything was very clean. There are filtered water fountains near the ice machine on each floor, so you can fill up your water bottle or the glass bottles provided in rooms. I did not eat at the hotel restaurant because there is such an abundance of great food within walking distance in Portland. Two blocks away you'll find food trucks at Pioneer Courthouse Square (try Fried Egg I'm in Love). VooDoo Donuts is also nearby, but I say skip it and get better donuts at Blue Star. One huge reason to stay at the Bidwell Marriott is proximity to Powell's Books. This mecca for book lovers is very close by and is a can't-miss Portland destination. I found the neighborhood around the Bidwell Marriott to be great. The city is still recovering from the pandemic, as so many others are, but there are lots of restaurants and shops open. Much has been made of the situation on Portland streets, and there are a few blocks around Burnside where things aren't wonderful, but the area around the hotel is perfectly nice and I felt safe and comfortable at all times. Overall, I had a great stay at the Bidwell Portland and would definitely return. In three days, I barely scratched the surface of all there is to see & do in Portland, so I'll definitely be back.

I always look forward to coming back to the bidwell hotel when I’m in Portland. Staff are always friendly and a pleasure to interact with. I checked in with Eric and he finds a way to upgrade me each time which makes for a comfortable stay. I wanted to make a note that the restaurant has improved significantly over the months as well and Ryan is a solid bartender and should be recognized for his efforts. I look forward to coming back next time I’m in town as always. Thank you.

I recently visited PDX and here is what stood out to me during my five night stay at The Bidwell. I believe that the hotel went through a recent remodel, and they hit it out of the park. I found my room to be well presented and comfortable, I especially enjoyed the spacious and well equipped fitness center, selection of local beers and delicious food menu at onsite restaurant & lounge. One small thing I noticed was the selection of music being played in elevators and common areas, always had me vibing and in a good mood. Experienced and ever present staff provided exceptional service from check-in to check-out; shout out to Julie & Samara at the front desk, Ryan & Miles in the restaurant, and Cam the Valet. Thank you!

Came into Portland later in the evening to stay the night before heading to the coast. We didn’t know much about the surrounding area and were looking to grab some dinner and drinks. Eric at the front desk was super helpful with some great suggestions. Got to try some awesome breweries thanks to his insights and suggestions! Also, the hotel feels brand new the rooms are super nice. Gym is spacious with great equipment and pelotons. Thanks for a great and quick stay, we’ll sure to be back!

matthew369420, Amazing Service is a great subject line! Thank you for sharing with the world your experience here at The Bidwell. Eric is a rad dude for sure. Not surprised he did a great job of taking care of you. Oh and you're basically right about our rooms feeling brand new. We renovated last year. And our housekeeping and engineering team work hard to keep them feeling like new. Glad you had fun enjoying the local breweries. We hope to welcome you back again soon and that you get to enjoy more breweries along the way. But next time, start with happy hour in High Horse before heading out. Until then, take care and safe travels always!

We were undecided on which Marriott location to stay at and decided on the Bidwell because of the aesthetics. This hotel did not disappoint! Beds and pillows were super comfy, gym has it all including TRX straps, and staff was extremely helpful. Shopping, restaurants, and various food truck pods were all within a few blocks. I used the Marriott app to chat with the staff daily and they were super responsive. While dining out I knew I would be taking food back, and decided to text about microwave options. We had one in our room by the time we returned! We definitely will be coming back and will be recommending this hotel!
