Rugged Country Lodge is a good-value accom option in Pendleton, as it's budget-friendly but clean and cozy and had at least everything we needed. The only ding is that its proximity to the train tracks made it so that we could hear the trains go by, but on the positive side, the wall fan was loud enough to mostly block the train noise. Other than that, the room/area was quiet.

Easy to find and in a quiet part of town. Check in was quick and professional. Staff was friendly and accommodating. They saw me come in with a cane and offered me a ground level handicap room but I chose to stay with my original reservation on the second floor. Room was very clean and well appointed with very comfortable furniture. I appreciated the real windows that opened so I could sleep with the night air (I'm not fond of air conditioning). The feel of the place is that of an old-fashioned lodge but with modern amenities. I would definitely stay here again.

Spent 2 nights here while visiting Pendleton. This is an older motel but appeared very clean. Room I stayed in was smaller but adequate and had been nicely cleaned. Found both desk clerks to be friendly and helpful.

This has been our go-to place to stay for over a year now when visiting Pendleton. The rooms are always clean and comfortable; the staff is friendly and helpful; the breakfast room is well stocked and decorated with fun decor and the location is easy to find with ample parking.

Not so good. Very low price motel and we decided to try it out based on the cute photos online. We were given a room downstairs and we had a fair amount of luggage that we got to lug down the stairs. No elevator, no luggage cart. The flapper in the toilet was broken and the toilet was running when we got into the room. The flapper had to be manually placed over the hole for the toilet tank to fill in order to flush it. The toilet itself has a layer of grey...mold? Dust? On the toilet seat, all the way around. Needless to say, the bowl was not clean either. We thought we would relax and watch TV, however we had to pull a large armoire away from the wall in order to plug in the TV. The AC unit did not work until I unplugged it, plugged it back in and hit “reset” on the plug. The bed itself was on wheels and not attached to the headboard, so when we sat up in bed, the bed rolled away from the wall. We had hoped to get some ice for our cooler, however one had to “see the desk clerk” in order to get ice and there was nobody at the desk once we completed our check-in. The icing on the cake was the party of clompers with their small, barking dog who checked into the room above us around 10pm. Perhaps the room we were given is not used very often, hence the condition. Perhaps there are better rooms on the main floor. We will never know because we will not go back.
