Out of the way location about 5 minutes from downtown. Very nice and friendly staff. Room was nice, but a bit worn especially on the walls and bathtub. Breakfast was good but could have used one none-sugary cereal. Overall, a good place to stay on a budget.

With Pendleton being so busy during the Round-Up, we decided to stay in this non-chain lodge. It was perfect for our visit. The room and bathroom were clean and fresh, the front desk was friendly and accommodating. It was out of the noisy business areas with easy access to all we wanted to do. Highly recommend and would stay here again.

I grew up in Pendleton and for the first time in 40 years I had a visit with family where I needed a hotel. Rugged Country is clean, refurbished (they kept the lovely and iconic 1950s bathroom tile!), and quiet. Manager is fantastic, and I'd recommend the stay for anyone jonesing for a hometown feel.

We stayed at the Rugged Country Lodge during a very hot weekend in July for a car show. The room was nice. It stayed cool even with the 111 degree weather. It was quiet, the breakfast was good, and the staff very friendly. Can’t beat this place especially for the price. This is our second time staying here and we have not been disappointed yet.

I loved staying at this quaint lodging while traveling though Oregon. The staff was very gracious and polite and for a very small fee my dogs were welcome. My room was spotless clean, cozy and very comfortable. The next morning a more than substantial complimentary breakfast was provided. It was a lovely night's stay and I look forward to making reservations for my return visit. Really a very nice place to stay in every way.

We spent one night at the Rugged Country Lodge on our way to Utah and it was just perfect. Check in was smooth and friendly, the room was immaculate with extra blankets and a cosy atmosphere. And breakfast was very good, with delicious coffee! The breakfast room is bright and inviting, full of nice little details, and once again sparkling clean. Overall a great value. We do recommend this place if you are traveling in the area.

I've stayed at Rugged Country Lodge many times over the years. My room has always been clean and comfortable, and the staff helpful and professional. Breakfast is included. Wifi was fast and reliable. There is noise from street traffic and occasional trains, but it is minimal at night and didn't interfere with my sleep. Great value for the price.

Pleasantly surprised. The room was cozy and maybe a bit smaller than many hotel rooms, bit it was what I needed: good and easy access, clean, not crowded, and comfortable. The queen bed was great. Wifi, internet, and cable TV all functioned perfectly. The building shows its age, but it's well taken care of. I will not hesitate to stay here again.
