Mary is a perfect hostess. She helped us plan our visit. Her breakfasts were different each day but always delicious. I enjoyed her dog Lola and friendly cat Elsa. 2 minute walk to the only restaurants in town. I'd come back again. Parkdale is very close to all that Mt. Hood hase to offer. Old Parkdale has a reciprocal discount agreement with Wet Planet whitewater rafting which was a fabulous adventure.
I cannot say enough of how wonderful this BB was for our stay. We stayed one night in a large room, with living room, kitchenette and bath. Short drive to the scenic waterfalls and short drive to Mt. Hood. Excellent host with an awesome breakfast!
I believe there are three significant compliments a person can pay another—one is asking for their recipe, another is word-of-mouth referral, and the third is when you give them repeat business; all three speak for themselves. My wife and I recently returned to the Old Parkdale Inn because we thoroughly enjoyed our first visit in October 2020. My wife and I love “everything autumn”, and in our book, it is THE time to visit the Hood River Valley. Last year—in the Meadowlark Room—we had the good fortune to have had a drizzly evening as we read before going to sleep; the outside temperature was perfect for opening all of the windows, and a gentle rain pitter-pattered all night on a tin roof outside. The bed was the most comfortable one we’ve ever slept in; we have an extremely comfortable bed at home, but the Old Parkdale’s make ours seem like a straw pallet. The entire experience was exceptionally enjoyable and relaxing. For our most recent visit (October 2021), we stayed in the Chinook Room, and it was just as comfortable and inviting. Our hosts Steve and Mary were, as always, accommodating and flexible. Mary provided breakfasts with my wife’s food allergies in mind. While you’re here, be sure to visit the farm stands that constitute the Fruit Loop—especially The Farmer in Odell! Unpasteurized apple cider is available at Draper Girls farm stand, and Kiyokawa Family Orchards has a wide selection of pears and almost every apple variety known to man!…
We stayed one night and really enjoyed it! Our room, Douglas Fir, has a fantastic view of Mt. Hood and was very spacious and comfortable with a full sitting room, small fridge & coffee maker, very comfortable bed and high quality bedding. Mary is a lovely host. We had a great chat with her over a delicious breakfast featuring baked apples wrapped in puff pastry - yum! We also loved meeting their sweet doggo, Lola. Mary suggested trying Solera Brewing, a local brewery right across the street, inside of driving into Hood River and we were SO glad that we did. The beer was fantastic (and we're from Bend), the mountain view was outstanding and the pub menu was much more extensive than we'd expected. Overall, it was a great trip and I'd highly recommend this B&B.
Thank you for my amazing stay at your BnB to attend my daughter's wedding at the Miller's Farm Retreat just around the corner from you. You were both so accommodating and the breakfast were delicious. I especially enjoyed our conversation about Parkdale and the surrounding area. I will sure be back for a visit as I loved the views of Mt. Hood and the nearby fruit stands. The room was so comfortable and It was an amazing weekend visit........
Thank you for the amazing time at your lovely place! It's my daughter and mine third visit here! So accommodating! Wonderful room, amazing breakfast, and great company.. especially about the waterfalls and the oregon trail! Thank for an amazing time! We will be back!
The Old Parkdale Inn exemplies the Danish concept of Hygge. The innkeepers have created a haven of simple pleasures-available teas and coffee with added flavorings, cozy tasteful decor, sumptuous breakfast, all in a garden setting with a nearby stunning view of Mt Hood. We wish we could have stayed longer!
The Douglas Fir room looks out to what seems like a touchable Mt Hood. Full, tasty breakfast. Friendliest hosts, even after nearly twenty years, with interesting knowledge of the valley. Surrounding orchards were a plus for me as I have friends who are growers in Washington. Even a few years on a tractor during harvests. I do owe Mary a beer glass from the town’s brewery. I broke it!
Perfect location for outdoor activities in area . Different hike each day . My wife and I loved the room. Small but appropriate . Mary and Steve were great hosts and the breakfast was perfect . One full acre that Steve maintains to perfection . Plenty of great outdoor reading spots .
Wonderful accommodations and breakfasts. The Chinook room was nice and roomy. Very pretty setting with very nice hosts and now friends Steve and Mary. Highly recommended. Great for relaxation and setting for places to Visit
