We stayed at the Surf & Sand this past weekend and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were just the right size for two and was very clean and inviting. Justin, who helps at the front desk was super nice as well as the owner who was kind enough to call and let me know that we left something behind... More

This is a great place for the budget conscious travelers. The room was clean, quiet and easily accessible. This is an old style motor hotel newly acquired by a young couple who are really trying to upgrade the property. Unfortunately, they have not yet upgraded the lumpy beds which caused both my wife and I to have backaches the next... More

After travelling highway 101 a few years ago we decided to take as many quiet coastal roads as we could. Hoping to find that "one place". We found it in the Sand and Surf. Not on the beach but wow super nice amazing couple have turned this historic coast guard bunkhouse into a true gem. Super clean. Super quiet. We... More

Small (15 rooms), older property directly on the highway leading into town. Steps away from several restaurants. Highly recommend _Grateful Bread Bakery_, less than 1/4 mile up the street. Serves dinner from Wed - Sun night. Clean rooms, comfortable beds. Refrigerator & microwave in room. Only one downside found. The chair to the desk in the Single Queen room I... More

Went there last week end with wife and kids. Perfect location, very nice staff and very clean rooms. The new owners are doing a great job in upgrading the rooms (nice curtains and bedspreads etc.). This will definitely my first choice for our next week end on the Coast !!!

A very nice, refurbished, clean room. Adequate for our overnight stay, with everything that we would need or want. A hug TV, a micro-wave oven, coffee, free internet. Quite and comfortable. New owners are doing an admirable job of bringing this lovely little place up to date.

Older property, clean, secure. Inexpensive!! Easy to find, right on main street coming into town. Able to walk to gas station in the morning to get a good cheap cup of coffee. Pub and grub within walking distance. No need to drink and drive. Other side of town from tourist trap beach and other hotels.

We were fortunate to get the last room available at this wonderful little hotel on Reach the Beach weekend. The owners were very kind and the accommodations were comfortable and clean. You could tell they took a lot of pride in the upkeep of the place. I loved that it was dog friendly. We will definitely be back!

The outside of this motel (that is now called the Inn at Pacific City - although the old sign is still there) looked a little worn, but the room was clean, neat and well organized. The room had been recently painted, so the it was bright and attractive. Furniture was basic but adequate, and included a fridge, microwave and small... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Ronel, Alex and little Hudson are the proud owners of the Surf & Sand Inn. Originally from South Africa (Ronel) and France (Alex) we met in California and soon after getting married, little Hudson was born. Wanting to enjoy every single moment of life we decided to relocate our family and was fortunate to find this Inn, located in the heart of the Oregon coast in Tillamook County’s beach community of Pacific City. The Inn (formerly known as The Inn at Pacific City) has a rich history, the building dates back to 1906 and for many years served as the headquarters of the Coast Guard. For the past 22 years the Inn was ran by Doug & Patti Olsen who established a reputation for value and customer satisfaction. With our background in hospitality we are excited to continue to build on this tradition. Our 15 unit motor lodge is conveniently located within walking distance to the beach, dining, the famous Nestucca River and ample outdoor activities. We have lots of extra parking for RV’s and boats and offer bicycle storage facilities. Driving distance from Portland, Salem and the Willamite Valley this beautiful part of the State offers something special for everyone. We hope to welcome you soon and don’t hesitate to contact us with questions or for special pricing; we are at your service! Life is too short to be lived outside of Pacific City!!! ... more   less
