Honey Bear By the Sea is conveniently located on Oregon's “Wild Coast” just north of Gold Beach,OR and right off HWY 101. Our friendly staff invites you to come on by and experience this peaceful paradise for yourself!
We had a really nice time at this resort. The staff was very friendly and helpful and everything was clean. Some sites are tighter together than others, but overall nice and in the trees. Being that we traveled as a group of friends and there were some kids - we were a bit disappointed that the game room (which is really cool!) closed by 6pm. We wanted to spend the days outside and at the beach and had hoped to play games in the evening. But no go. We were also hoping to play some 2v2 sand volleyball but the net was pretty saggy and low and the “sand” was more like fine rocks.. and the “basketball” was kid size with a moveable hoop maybe 7 ft high over grass. Cute little playground for kids. If they still had a restaurant there it would be awesome as the building is cute. The walk to the beach took about 8-10 minutes and crossed two roads. I liked that the bathrooms were all in one - toilet, sink, shower that you could lock yourself into and have privacy.

In the mist of fires all across this area this park opened their doors to us! My family was almost homeless as we are full timers. While the fact people care, should be enough, there is so much more.
They were incredibly kind and logical in how they run a business. Tammy and the crew are beyond kind and pros! They are the kind of people that keep this kind of place in business! The sights are solid with either being flat or concrete. The kids play area is awesome and probably the biggest dog run area we have experienced to date (15 months full time). The ocean is right across the street and takes about 15 mins to walk through via trail off 101.
The trails and way tents are kept separate is a great utilization of the property. Golden Beach is big enough to have stuff but small enough to escape the mess from larger cities in the State.
I would 100 recommend this place. If you are a veteran or first responder, stop scrolling this is where you should come!

The grounds are kept in excellent condition. Bathrooms are nice. Suggest a hook near the shower stall to hang towel on. There is a stand there but to with a bag of items on it gets wet from reaching the towel. However there is a hook on the door. Placing near the shower to keep items from getting wet.
The staff is very courteous and helpful to the guests. The guests who camp there are always friendly and respectful of the other campers. Great to have a small playground for the littles ones to play at.
The area is quite large so one doesn't feel too crowded and having the ocean close by is a plus. Happy to see that the campground is expanding.

This location is a 5 minute walk to the beach with peekaboo views of the Oregon coast. You can hear the waves crashing into the beach! Also, we discovered that ~5 minutes up the road, Sisters Rock, is an awesome place to go explore the tide pools at low tide!
Our interactions with the staff were positive.
This was a wonderful location for a slower tempo, relaxation trip. They have a playground onsite for children but really the walking distance to the beach was the greatest amenity

Brand new state of the art system was finished exactly a week ago yesterday. Yesterday till now, we have zero connection. The owner Dacia group out of Vegas is now charging for internet and wireless TV connection that doesn't work. Stopped here a couple times last year and bad internet then too. If you need internet TV, internet or cell service don't go to honeybear by the sea. June 13 2022.

Hello Foggymtns, we are very sorry that the internet was not working at the time of your stay. As you mentioned in your review, we have an incredible brand new WIFI system that was just installed and is able to handle fiber internet speeds. Unfortunately, it took some troubleshooting and was not operational for a very short amount of time. The internet is fully now operational and working as we speak. We know how vital internet services are for our campers and want to provide the best amenities possible, which is why we elected to pay $70,000 to have it installed in the first place. A one-star review simply because the new wifi sys was not fully operational seems pretty unreasonable to us as we rely on reviews like this to get more visitors. We hope you come back and find the system to your liking!

This place is a hidden gem! It was the cleanest and best RV park we’ve ever experienced. Although the lodge was closed due to family illness, every part of the park was in pristine condition: the bathrooms, the laundry facility, the dog park, the meadows, and the site itself. We stayed over Thanksgiving week-weekend with our small dogs. They had a great time exploring the property on the three walks a day we went on. The walk over to the beach was easy!

Our FHU campsite was tidy, clean and a perfect spot to sit at our picnic bench at watch the waves between two hills. Close enough to hear the crashing wave sounds. The sites are fairly small but there was enough dpa e for a picnic table and a fire pit. The entire campground was well landscaped and clean. There is a large lawn area with a playground on one side of the grounds and there was a fence large space with a pond that our dogs got to run and enjoy themselves on the other side. They also had a heated dog bath tub if needed. Ophir beach is across the road. Not sure if there's a walking path directly to it as we opted to drive with the dogs down the road a short bit and park at the beach area. What a lovely beach! Most of Oregon beaches tend to literally blow you away but the wind was minimal there. Another bonus!
The only minor blemish in this review would be the showers were very tight quarters, not much larger than our travel trailer showers but way more head room 😊. A minor inconvenience and it is appreciated they have them even available for guests.
The staff were all so friendly and helpful but their office hours are limited so be aware at night there isn't someone in the office if you need to contact them.
We enjoyed it so much we booked another stay while we were still there.

As always, our visit to Honey Bear was excellent. David and Tammy are kind, gracious and amazingly helpful managers. They go above and beyond to insure that each guest has a great experience.
When we arrived, it was obvious that our picnic table had seen better days. I brought this to their attention and immediately, David and a staff member were at our site delivering a brand new table.
We'll see you next summer!

I stayed here for a couple nights in 2017 and returned for a 6-week stay to enjoy the gorgeous South Oregon coast while riding out the 2020 pandemic. The staff was very accommodating and friendly throughout my stay, and the the property was kept clean and well-maintained. The location is hard to beat being directly across highway 101 from stunning Ophir Beach and about 7 miles from the mouth of the Rogue River and downtown Gold Beach. There is so much to do between beaches, wildlife, hikes, river trips, starry nights, and amazing sunsets. The Honey Bear property itself offers nice trail and meadow walks that are great for the kids and pups. I highly recommend and hope to return again soon.

Our family stayed here for a month amidst the Covid pandemic and we are absolutely delighted they were able to take us in! Despite the national shut down, social distancing concerns, and other challenges that faced the Honey Bear RV resort during this extraordinary time they were able to still make you feel welcome and completely at ease. Despite some of their amenities being closed or processes modified due to the CDC recommendations, they were still able to make staying here a completely enjoyable and pleasurable experience! I cannot say enough wonderful things about their caring staff as well as the owner Glenn who goes out of their way to make sure you are taken care of as well as feel very welcomed. You can tell they truly care about not only their customers but also the upkeep and care of the RV resort. It is obvious the pride that is taken in the upkeep, cleanliness, and amenities of this resort. You can tell they are genuine people who love what they do! As for the RV resort itself, it is spectacular! It sits on roughly 50 acres of forest, ponds, and meadows just a short walk from the ocean. You can hear the waves crashing onto the shore which we find so relaxing. You can also see deer and elk roaming the property as well as otters swimming in one of the ponds. For you dog lovers, the resort is dog friendly which we love and they even have a large fenced in pond near the entrance to let your dogs run, play, and go for a dip in the pond! You can also bring your dog down to the beach and let them play as well. There are hiking trails, bird watching, as well as the occasional whale or seal to be spotted from the beach. There are multiple large RV spots for big rigs with 50amp full hook-up service, RV spots for trailers and fifth wheels, as well as multiple tent camping spots. Laundry services are on-site and overflow parking if you have an extra vehicle in tow. The scenery is wonderful as they have kept a lot of trees and a natural feel to the property with amazing plants and flowers. A very serene and peaceful setting indeed...like a little slice of heaven. I could go on and on about this place but I recommend you see for yourself! Thank you Honey Bear resort...you have a customer and friend for life!

The 50 acres has wooded sites, sites without trees and even sites that have a bit of both. There are 7 ponds, a couple creeks & springs, and also ocean views, so all types of camping can be accommodated. If you were to walk from the Lodge, which is kind of centrally located, it is less than an easy 5 minute walk to put your toes in the sand.
There are more places to choose from in the Ophir area.
