Two night stay on the coast escaping the fires and heat in eastern Oregon. Check-in was quick and painless with pleasant staff. The room on the third floor was clean and fresh. Pet rooms are available, so specify no pet room if you are traveling without fido. The balcony overlooks Elizabeth Street with views of a long, sandy beach. Easy... More

What a great place. We had a room on the bottom floor with a wonderful view of the ocean. Clean, neat and very pleasant staff. Patio door with a side panel. Side panel had a small hinged window so we were able to hear crashing waves all night. Thought it was a bit pricey.

We were only able to spend one night at the Whaler during a recent vacation to NW Oregon. I really wish we would have had more time. The hotel was in a perfect location, just across the street from a beach access and the 3rd floor beach front balcony room was so worth the couple extra bucks. Honestly, the cost... More

The staff are only one of the wonderful things about this hotel find The room was large, on 2nd floor and had great view of the ocean. They are across the street with easy access from a path that is just across from the hotel It is the same path that guests of other hotels "on the beach" have to... More

This is the best place we have stayed yet on the Oregon Coast. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the view on the 3rd floor is amazing. It's convenient to everything, stores, shops restaurants, the beach and lighthouse touring. We will definitely be going back plus the prices are so reasonable, this is definitely a great place to stay.

My husband and I only stayed one night here. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. All rooms have a beautiful ocean view. We stayed on the third floor in a King room, the room was spacious and the room and linens were clean, the bed was very very comfortable. Wifi was good. The motel had laundry facilities , parking... I did not stay here but checked it out because it was across from the Shilo that I stayed at. They did not have any rooms available at the Whaler on the days we needed or I would have stayed there. They have balconies you can sit out on and enjoy the ocean view. Shilo has large windows but no... More

We're repeat Whalers. With a family of five it's a chore to find a hotel that gives us enough room to move around without bumping into each other. Our room was spacious and very clean. Beds were comfortable. Literally 100ft from the beach. Windows are as sound proof as I've ever seen. Swimming pool and Hot tub is very clean... More

Stayed here with my husband, son, and in-laws. We had a room on the top floor, and it had such an amazing view of the ocean. I had the sliding door open all day. It was so lovely to sit and watch the ocean with the breeze coming in. The room was clean (not immaculate). My son absolutely loved the... More
