One of the finest places to stay on the Oregon Coast. Newly remodeled. Quiet, Excellent service by maids cleaning rooms. Great parking area. Accessible and safe. Close to downtown Newport and Newport Bay.
We wanted to go to the coast to relax. This is a Best Western Plus and the Plus does mean something. The rooms were apparently renovated in 2018. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had an ocean view and spent time looking at the Lighthouse and enjoying the sunsets. Front desk staff were very nice. We had the option to have housekeeping services or defer which I appreciated. There’s a restaurant onsite and room service. In room, there is a coffee maker, fridge and microwave. The bathroom is a bit small but the room itself is good size. The sound insulation is decent. The back of the hotel faces the beach. There’s a crosswalk and traffic is fairly light. There’s a hose station for cleaning off. It’s a dog friendly hotel and we saw several during our stay. They even have bags and a disposal station for doggie outings. There’s even a gas fire pit in the back. The beach is nicely walkable. It’s flat. We found sand dollars and clam shells. It was a relaxing stay and we can’t wait to come back. …
It is a walk to the beach, further than most hotels along the coast. Also, the bathroom door is a barn style & does not lock! I wish I would have known this information prior to booking my stay. The hotel is clean & the rooms were modern. The staff was nice as well. Parking isnt great here. Most people will have to park in the upper lot & walk across an uncovered skybridge to the hotel. Also, there isn't a real freezer in the mini fridge, it's all open & if you turn it on the coolest setting, your stuff will freeze... So many the entire fridge is a freezer?! 🤷🏻♀️ The a/c works well as well as the heater. The rooms have a coffee pot but the slide style, not a Keurig. Overall the stay was pleasant and the view is spectacular!
The room alone was almost $300/night but they don’t mention on the Best Western app that there is a $50 pet fee in addition to the $298. It’s a nice place but not $350/night type of nice. No complimentary breakfast. The rooms have a non locking, sliding door for the bathroom. Not very private. Pool and spa are nice. Restaurant is good but expensive. $75 for a sandwich, a salad and a small plate of fish- no beverages. Walking distance to the beach, no ADA access though beyond the street. Staff was very good.
Josh and team great to work with. We had an issue with kitchen vent up above 6th floor, then rain into some irresponsible 20 ish year old with lack of hotel edicate. This was not hotels fault but they made it best they could with us. Thanks
Ocean front rooms have a great view. Higher floors can see lighthouse. Quiet, clean, well appointed rooms. The bed was amazingly comfortable. Check in/out was quick. Staff very helpful. Very safe for solo traveling. Highly recommend for a comfortable coastal stay.
Agate Beach Best Western is a hidden gem of sorts. With spectacular views, and exceptional service and cozy rooms, this hotel is hard to pass up when going to the coast. This hotel has great beach access and amazing amenities.
You have it all here! A comfy room with a view! Walk down to the beach, or short drive to downtown Newport or to the lighthouse! Onsite restaurant for dinner and or drinks! Firepits! Indoor Pool! The staff are helpful. Free parking!
I have been looking for a good place to spend the weekend with my family over the coast and this turned out to be the best. The location, amentias, and staff were all top class. Would highly recommend this to others.
Loves this hotel for it's amazing location on the beach! The rooms were spotless and the staff was so helpful! The views were incredible. The pool was a bit busy while we were there but that might have been due to the storm that passed through that made people less likely to head to the beach.
