Our room was ridiculously small...barely room enough to get around the bed, and smelled musty. I gather from other reviews that other rooms are available at this property. We'd just been at McNenamin's amazing property in Bend, so this was a huge disappointment.

Dani C, Manager at McMenamins Hotel Oregon, responded to this review Ann- I am sorry that your room was so disappointing. Old St. Francis is a beautiful property and their rooms are amazing. Hotel Oregon is a historical building which does tend to lend itself to smaller spaces and rooms. We do have some larger rooms and I hope if... More

The location for this hotel can't be beat and the staff were all very nice and helpful. The prices are indicative of "you get what you pay for" so something to keep in mind. The shared bathrooms were not a huge deal. The only thing that got to me was the smell throughout the hotel. It needs all new carpets... More

We went here to use our third and last free night's stay as part of becoming a "Cosmic Tripster" through McMenamins "Passport" program. The prices at this McM Hotel are high when compared to most of their other Hotels, but so are all of the other hotels in the McMinnville, OR area. Their rooms are small with no TVs of... More

We checked out the Hotel Oregon on a Saturday afternoon and they were rather slow which we enjoy. We checked out the roof top bar that overlooked the charming downtown but we ended out choosing the cellar bat due the being close to 100 degrees and we wanted a quieter visit. The cellar was one of my favorite places with... More

We positively loved our stay here, and can't wait to go back! Not only are all of the rooms a little different from one another, but the whole building just bursts with personality. The shared bathrooms is a norm at McMenamins' hotels, so we were expecting them, and honestly had no troubles at all. The real kicker here is the... More

I love love love LOVE this hotel! So charming and I love how every room has a story. Shared restrooms somehow bother a good amount of people but not the hubby and I. Feel like youre transported back in time. The waitstaff from maids, front desk, to the restaurant are so incredibly helpful and nice. Not that forced, smiling through... More

Very quaint historic hotel in downtown McMinnville. We had two rooms sharing a bathroom. The boys loved the claw foot tub. The rooms were on the small side, and the windows were not sound proof. They provided ear plugs, but it wasn't an issue during the week when we were there. The staff was wonderful, but overall the room was... More

Let's start with the hotel staff, from the girl who checked us in to the bartender at the roof top bar were extremely nice and pleasant. Couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. The hotel is exactly what is advertised. That's the best way to explain it. The hotel is older but is very clean. We had a room that... More

The hotel is typical of other McMenamins. Smaller rooms but each is comfortable and unique. No soaking pool but the rooftop restaurant/bar is a perfect place to spend a few early evening hours after a challenging day of wine tasting. The hotel layout is reminiscent of an amusement park haunted house. Lots of stairs and odd spaces. Take some time... More

I am from NYC and came here with a Portland, OR, friend from childhood. Even though we are both grown mothers, she got us a room to share with a bath down the hall. I am so glad we shared a room as it is delightfully creepy here and please know that although I do not believe in ghosts (sorry... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
On McMinnville's charming, old main street, Hotel Oregon strikes an inviting pose - as it has since 1905. Once home to a restaurant and lounge, banquet hall, Greyhound bus depot, Western Union, soda fountain and beauty parlor, the handsome four-story building we call Hotel Oregon is a delightful destination in the heart of Oregon's wine country.Warm lighting in the first floor pub, cozy tables and an impressive 40-foot long back bar invite close conversation over the glint of a fresh pint or maybe a game of shuffle board in the Paragon room. Artwork and wall hangings inspire thoughts of the past and a trip to the subterranean bistro-style Cellar Bar or magnificent Rooftop Bar (with its breathtaking 360-degree view of the region) are a must for any visitor to the hotel. ... more   less
