Our stay felt like a little piece of Heaven. The location is perfect, with the river right beside the cabins. The owners will instantly become your friends and know exactly how to make your stay perfect. Plan to stay at last a week because you'll fall in love with it and hate to leave.
We had a great trip to Central Oregon staying at Cedarwood. The Cabin was very comfortable and well equipped. It was also spotlessly clean. Mike made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed the privacy and quiet of our porch at night after busy days. I highly recommend these cabins for an easy getaway. Only 3 hrs from Pdx. Very reasonably priced. The kitchen was perfect for us to make simple dinners. Bring food because grocery in town has limited ( but nice) selection of items.
I just about missed out for Memorial weekend 2018 lodging reservation, but that was my fault. We were able to fly a couple of the kids in from parts beyond and drive to Mike and Carolyn's fantastic retreat. Every cabin here is excellent, and we have been in most of them over the last 5 years. It was booked solid but I did not see but one other guest, so it goes to show that the cabins are just the right amount of distance to wave hi, and also not really notice anyone. We did a lot of hiking around the state so we did not do much on the property, but after a very long day, the cabin was always our recharge spot. Folks, plan in advance, don't wait until the last minute. Many, many of us regulars go and it may be tough to get in at last minute. You will never regret your stay here and being 50-100 feet off a river is just what you need.…
Absolutely Amazing!! The owners , Michael and Carolyn are extremely gracious and will go to any length to make your stay the most memorable ever. The cabins are " rustic " but impeccable in every detail. Exactly what we were hoping for. Once there we never left , The kitchens had everything we needed. The outdoor BBQ was in perfect condition and made for some wonderful memories bbqinq on the deck overlooking the river. It was a pleasure walking the grounds and appreciating such a very special place. We will definitely make our stay an annual one. Can't wait to return.
We have stayed in many "cabins" throughout the Pacific Northwest, but this beautiful little paradise outshines them all by Far! This is our second year, and Carolyn & Michael already feel like friends. The rustic, adorable cabins make you feel like you've just stepped back in time. However, they are fully stocked with the modern features that you might need or want. (NO TV's) but you won't miss that, due to the fact that the riverview is spectacular and the fishing, hiking, & all the other sights and activities will keep you very entertained. From the fresh flowers in the room to the "white glove" cleaning, you will feel like family Too! Thank you again for the most relaxing, beautiful, and fun vacation. We look forward to it every year!
My husband and I stayed the weekend for our anniversary and we were pleasantly surprised by everything! The "Little River" cabin we stayed in was very clean, had cozy linens and really all we needed waiting for us when we arrived. It is a little A-frame studio cabin among giant trees with a stone fireplace, king-size bed, and an entire wall, ceiling to floor, of windows that frame the beautiful view of the Mackenzie River! There are french doors opening up to a large deck where the roar of the river is a few feet away. It was very peaceful to relax and watch the river flow by us like it has for thousands of years. The proprietors, Carolyn & Michael, made lovely arrangements of the local flora and placed the vases here and there in the cabin and kept the firewood on the front porch well stocked...nice touches...…
We stayed here for my birthday weekend . We played golf at the wonderful Tokatee course a few minutes up the road . A must if you golf. I hesitate to write a review because like other reviewers this place is magical. Don't want all those Thoreau want to bed invading and ruling it for the rest! The cabins are very clean and a little funky but lovely fireplaces and they restock the wood every day. Owners are some of the nicest people I have met. They fm sent very detailed information on the cabins. If you want a big screen TV, marble bathrooms and stainless steel kitchens it is not going to work for you. No TV and spotty cell phone service. The river, the peace and quiet and almost 10 hours sleep. Magical.
We loved how clean this place was, with new windows and plumbing, while still feeling like a cabin. We thought they must vaccuum the walls, because we didn't see any bugs, dust or cobwebs. What a great place to spend a long weekend. If you aren't sure what to do, the owner can guide you to excellent biking, hiking, boating, eating or whatever you want to do. We followed and loved all of his suggestions, such as pristine Clear Lake surrounded by nice 5.5 mile trail. There you can also rent kayaks, canoes and row boats. And if you want to rest, it's perfect for that too, right on the gorgeous McKenzie River.
My boyfriend & I took a 10-day road trip from Santa Barbara, CA to McKenzie Bridge mid-September & it was one of the best vacations we have taken. We stayed at Cedarwood Lodge for 5 nights. Our first day was rainy, which we really enjoyed by building a fire and renting a movie from the local store (no TVs in the cabins, so bring a laptop if you want). The rest of the time, the weather was in the 70's & 80's so we spent a lot of time outdoors. We whitewater rafted, which was a blast! And we also took a day trip to Sisters/Bend/Mount Bachelor, with a detour to Dee Wright Observatory where you can see miles of lava and volcanoes. Regardless of the activities we did, relaxing near the river (which can be seen and heard from all the cabins), and just sitting on the deck of our cabin was our favorite thing to do. The cabins are adorable, clean, and are fully equipped with fridge, oven/stove, microwave, dishes and kitchen essentials, basically everything you need for your stay. They also have free wifi. Firewood is included in the price of the room, unless you need more, which can be purchased. They have laundry facilities for $4 a wash/dry. We stopped in Eugene for groceries on our way in, but there are a few little stores in McKenzie River that provide you with most of the essentials. We ate at Takodas, which was a great restaurant in town, and walked to the coffee shop/cafe just down the road from Cedarwood. The whole experience was so refreshing & charming, we will most definitely return again, and will likely stay for a longer amount of time. Thank you to the Giorgio family for your kindness & hospitality! They were very resourceful in helping us decide how to spend our time around the area, and which way to go home (we chose to go through Bend down to Crater Lake, which was another amazing experience in itself). Can't wait to return to Cedarwood Lodge!…
Perfect cabins located right on the river and surrounded by endless beautiful trees. Everything was very clean and every time I go, the couple running the lodge are always more than accommodating. Very relaxing area and a perfect spot if you're looking to get away from the busyness of life (who isn't?). Closely located to a golf course, restaurant, hiking trails, running/biking trails, white water rafting, and many more activities! Our cabin (#5) also had a lovely deck to sit on (as many of them do) to relax and enjoy when we weren't feeling active. Got the best sleep of my life while on vacation here! Highly recommended lodge!! You will not regret it spending your vacation time here!
