I want to begin that I never leave a negative review. But after being nickled and dimed at this place had to say what is happening there. Gorgeous place to stay. Well manicured..great idea but the staff and customer service is less to be desired. From check in to check out...laundry list of issues. From check in..given the wrong spot...had... More

The room was well maintained. Hot springs were very relaxing. The grounds and gardens were beautiful. This is a must see/stop location. I loved the fact that this location is about the outdoors. This is not a chain hotel. This hotel has quality and comfort that you don't find in a chain. The continental breakfast has fresh fruits also in... More

Oh poor, poor Belknap... I read your reviews (mainly on a different ranking site) after already making our reservations. They were terrible! So we came without expectations. And I ask myself, could you exist without High Country Expeditions? Yes, your location is beautiful... but our room! The tacky fisherman art (lamps made out of a fishing basket and net?), the... we stayed overnight during a last-minute bicycle trip from bend, oregon. only space left was a cabin (#4). pros: beautiful site; especially enjoyed walking on the trails on the property. the secret garden was very unique. there were flowers planted in many places on the property. the AC worked well--it was a very hot visit. cons: no TV channels available... I don't know why this place only has 3 stars. For what it is, it is solid. Some foljs have said the place is "run down" but I don't agree with that at all. It is not a five star luxury resort, so expectations need to be realistic. Our lodge room is basic but comfortable and the bathroom is huge... More

This is like the parable of the blind men and the elephant-- it depends on what part you are feeling. It is a hot springs, lodge, cabin, RV, and tent resort. We had RV spot #3, right on the river. Trouble is, #'s 1, 2 and 4 were a family reunion. Their spots were so overbooked (6-8 each?) they couldn't... More

Rude front desk and cafe sfaff, horrible bed in cabin 3 plus no blankets. Not much charm anywhere and the pools are Warm, NOT hot!. The place may have been nice when it was built 90 years ago. Buildings and pagodas are fallng apart and rotting. Crowded. Big thumbs Down!

Originally went for the hot spring pool but decided to stay once we got there and looked around and found out they still had a room available. The rooms are a little older but great for a three person family. They had free DVDs for us to take to the room. The soaking pools were fantastic, could have spent all... More

Spent two nights in mountain home #15 with family. It was great! The rooms in the mountain home were very spacious and clean. This was better than staying in a hotel. As we were 1300 miles away from our own home this mountain home made the whole family feel at home. The scenery is also awesome! Check in and check... More

The surroundings are BEAUTIFUL! The lodge is run down and only a/c on the 3rd floor. But it was clean. We came for the river, hot sprigs and secret garden...all well worth it! Don't come looking for high end, just figure camping with a roof over your head. But then again...your in the woods, so you shouldn't be in your... More
