We booked this hotel for our 26th wedding anniversary and had a nice experience. We got the top floor room with the jetted tub. The hotel was very quiet and nice overall. The bed was very comfortable, and everything worked. The views are gorgeous.

We came to Starfish Manor for our honeymoon and it has been AMAZING!
Our first night on our way to Lincoln City Oregon we stayed at the best room Crowne Plaza hotel in Seattle had to offer and it was.... kind of a let down. Which is disappointing because we spent a lot of money on it and the concierge desk was for the most part unable to do anything. We then drove 6 hours to the Oregon coast and oh my goodness we were blown away. The view of the beach is better than we could have imagined, our (first) room which was a queen size bed with a jacuzzi is outstanding.
I’m going to stop for a moment and describe how great the service is. I ordered a romantic package to make the stay as best as it could be for my now wife and I and It was worth every dollar and more. They made swans out of towels on our bed, left rose petals all around, left chocolate and bath salts, and a handwritten card I asked them to put in there. It was more than I imagined. We thought we hit the jackpot as far as hotels go.... and then... After our first nights stay I received a phone call from the front desk letting us know the owners wanted to upgrade our room for our honeymoon! We thought our room couldn’t get any better, but somehow it did! Our new room was bigger, had a couch, bigger jacuzzi, bigger bed, and they left us rose petals and bottle of rosè!
The location is amazing, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and this owner whom simply heard about our honeymoon and wanted to bless us with an unbelievable room has made our already amazing honeymoon even more amazing and memorable!
Thank you Starfish Manor 😄

Me and my boyfriend decided to take a beach trip when covid restrictions loosened back in june of 2020 and we chose this hotel. We booked on a 3rd party website and we were very careful in reading all rooms and descriptions to choose the right room. When we showed up we did have to wait till 3 p.m to get to our room but they did let us check in to get our keys and it all went flawlessly. When it was check in time we headed up and let me tell you this room is worth the price! It was the exact room shown on the site; it's very spacious for 2 people we had a beach view and that view was amazing. The bed was very comfy and the jetted tub in the room added the perfect touch. There wasnt much room by the sinks to set stuff down but it wasn't a big deal. Bathroom was okay, nothing too special and the parking garage was not far from the building itself. There is no direct beach acces from here but if you walk not even 5 minutes down the road there are stairs that lead right to the beach. Overall our stay was AMAZING and we will most definitely be back.

Let's start with the good stuff. The hotel is set high on a bluff and you are on the second floor with this room so the ocean view is excellent. Hot tub is a 4 person so was nice and roomy for our party of 2. Furniture is comfortable and kitchen is adequately equipped with tableware, some silverware, pots/pans, toaster, and blender. If you like a larger ceramic mug for coffee/tea bring your own as theirs are small glass ones. Beds are high and comfy, not too soft, not too firm. Bathroom shower is big with 2 showerheads so you can hog both or 2 people can shower at once. Provided robes are handy for the hot tub though sadly mine had what appeared to be a burn hole in it, even though there's no smoking. All staff, including construction people, that we encountered were very welcoming and friendly. As a side note, it would have been nice if there was sugar in the cupboard rather than having to tear open all those cellophane motel courtesy condiments. So wasteful to throw out all those powder creamer and sugar substitute packets. We left a box of individually wrapped sugar packets in the narrow right-hand cupboard for those of you who just want the sugar ;)
On the negative side, cleanliness left something to be desired. The coffee maker still had coffee in the pot! Microwave front was dirty, stove door had drips. Some of the silverware was unwashed. Mostly it was neglected dusting though... if you can't reach that top part of the fridge where the cupboards are too close, then use a tool like I did. Damp cloth on the end of a wooden spoon worked fine. Considering that our stay is/was during Covid-19 pandemic time, I would have expected much more thoroughness in housekeeping.
Privacy was also a bit of an issue. Be advised that if your downstairs neighbors decide to hang out in the grass area (about 20' deep) in front of their unit (as did ours, sigh~) you will be in full view of them while in hot tub or even sitting down in some parts of your living area. The other privacy issue was that BOTH bedrooms have doors leading directly to the outer hallway. When sleeping... or doing whatever (*wink)... you are literally 4 feet away from the entrance to your unit. We found this very strange indeed. However, if you are worried about hallway noise bothering You, there is a nice fan in the closet to use for white noise.
All in all, it was an anjoyable and restful stay, but I doubt we will return due to the privacy issues we experienced.

Rest assured, we will get these items corrected immediately. I was not going to leave a review but felt our poor experience needed to be brought to light. This was our third stay at the Starfish Manor, first stay since they’ve renovated. We came for a one night “babymoon” stay as a last trip before our first baby arrives. We were excited for a relaxing, care free night away at our favorite hotel. I was hesitant to stay in a hotel during this pandemic but chose to stay here again due to their previous history of excellent customer service and cleanliness. This was not the experience we had during this trip. This was our first time booking a partial view as we typically go with a full ocean view and tub. I would not even consider the room we had a partial view, our view was of a building and a tiny peak of the ocean. We brought our own disinfectant wipes as an extra precaution and are so glad we did, counters felt grumy, we wiped all surfaces and were shocked to see the wipes were dirty afterwards. There was also a dirty qtip on the floor by the bed. For supposedly cleaning extra due to the pandemic I would expect a cleaner room, especially for $220 per night. WIFI did not work and for some reason there was no service in the room, front desk said it was due to being fully booked and not having enough bandwidth. This is something they absolutely need to fix. The fan in the bathroom did not work and the jetted tub had a pink/red streak in it near the drain. The bed was so incredibly uncomfortable it was difficult to sleep. There was also no A/C in the room so it did get pretty warm at night, we left the window open which did not have a screen on it. The jetted tub was nice but overall we were highly disappointed to the point I wish we had just saved the money and stayed at a cheaper hotel. I am sad to say we will not be returning to our previously beloved Starfish Manor, quality has gone down significantly after their renovations.

Hello Wrightybee, Thank you for your review in regards to your experience at The Starfish Manor Hotel! I am so very sorry that we did not exceed your every expectation as it is our goal to do so. We do understand our guests whom are used to a full ocean view can be disappointed by our partial view suites as they are a partial view that offers a peek at the ocean but not a straight on perspective of the coastline. We do take your cleanliness comments very seriously which is why I went to the suite personally to observe and note these complaints though was unable to meet you in person or see these items as you were out for the day. We completely apologize in regards to the WiFi as with new buildings, comes some re configuring but we have since reset and repaired our WiFi which should no longer be an issue to any of our guests as we have installed the highest level of WiFi technology available in this building. I'm so sorry you found our new Serta Beauty Rest Luxury Pillow Top Mattresses to be uncomfortable but we can note this mattress type was not preferable to you in your reservation folio. Its clear we did not provide the most perfect coastal getaway as we should have. We sincerely hope you will give us another opportunity to be your accommodations when your travels bring you back to the heart of the Oregon Coast! Sincerely, Brittany N Assistant General Manager

I want to like this place but unfortunately it misses the mark on so many fronts. The price is the same as many higher quality hotels in the area. The Starfish has a great oceanfront location but very few decks. Those rooms that have decks they are very small, barely fitting two chairs. The rooms are outdated, ours had purple carpeting. They advertised WiFi availability but it only allowed you to connect about 25% of the time. Also, they do not offer any breakfasts unlike almost every hotel in the vicinity. During our stay they had no ice available which is highly unusual especially since their kitchenettes only offer a very small refrigerator without a freezer. So purchasing a whole bag of ice makes no sense since it will melt within hours. Our electric “fireplace” which really looks like a small stove was on the fritz and was also hit and miss like the WiFi. Since Starfish is the same price as just about every other hotel I’d rather spend my money at Coho, Shearwater, or Pelican Shores. I hope, for the staff’s sake, they decide to invest a little money in this place so it can compete with the numerous other lodging options or it won’t survive.

The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are great, but we had an issue with the housekeeping. We checked in the first night as I was surprising my fiancé with a romantic getaway and upon entering the room we loved the rose petals, sparkling cider, and robes awaiting us with the romance package I had added to the room. As we looked more around we noticed hairs in the jacuzzi tub and then went to check the bathroom and there were some in the shower as well. We called the front desk and the house keeper who had cleaned our room came up and re sanitized the tub. We ended up checking out the next day as we had only intended to stay the one night, but decided to stay another night and booked a fancier room that had two bedrooms as well as a hot tub on the balcony. Unfortunately, more hair was in that jacuzzi tub as well. We realized the room was cleaned by the same house keeper and are disappointed in the house keeping service for the price we paid. In total it was nearly $800 for the two nights we stayed and for that price there should be excellent house keeping service. The staff was friendly, but poor sanitization left us wondering what was actually cleaned in our room.

After my daughter stayed here with a very disappointing review we decided we would give it another chance for our Easter family vacation. Turns out our stay was only worse and nothing had been taken care of from the previous stay. For a beach home that states it’s fully equipped I will say it’s far from it. The kitchen had no paper towels, no dish soap and when we asked for some we got a very small watered down soap , no kitchen towels, no garbage can liners, half of the pots and pans were disgusting with dried on food from a previous user. There were no pot holders to take out food and the microwave is so lose it could fall off. The washer was dirty and the dryer doesn’t work what so ever. There was fireplace ash all around the bricks , the bed skirt still had the same dirty stained dust ruffle from six weeks ago along with the same garbage from someone else under the bed! There were no extra blankets or pillows or toilet paper either for a week long stay. The bathroom had bugs crawling on the floor not sure where they came from. There is no decor in this beach front home and is very outdated . One of the bedrooms has an old IKEA lamp this is broken and being held together with scotch tape. The furniture is something so old Goodwill wouldn’t even carry. The assistant manager Brittany was nice when she answered the phone until my husband asked about more soap and if there was a way to get an actual baking pan . She then turned rude and said because of Covid they don’t supply those items and it’s our responsibility to bring them with us..... why should I have to bring kitchen items to a fully furnished beach home?? The ceiling fan is so lose it looks as if it’s going to fall from the ceiling. The entire time we had people walking up by our back deck and to the hot tub we paid for. Let’s not forget to mention that the beach house garage is used for the hotels storage unit. This is so tacky and when the employees come in and out they slam the door every time. I won’t be staying here ever again. You would think especially with Covid they would do a better job of cleaning. Management needs to go through this beach house and perform a thorough deep cleaning and make sure it’s equipped with the furnishings it claims to be. Good bye Starfish Manor you lost my entire families business. There are way better places to spend your money.

If I could give zero I would first of all of paying over 200.00 a night and Covid I would expect the room to be clean in the bathroom found foot prints on the door and urine on the under part of toilet seat when lifted up
No towels in room asked for them received 2 we had to go get asked for a cleaner/sanitizer to actually clean the hot tub and bathroom our self after all it is a Hotel and should of been done correctly multiple people stay in this room day after day.
We were told they could not access products than at that point I asked how they clean/sanitize the lobby and front counter etc...... told well !!!! We have cleaner ultimately we had to go buy our own when trying to discuss this with the Assistant Manager was told very rudely I could talk to her boss that’s why she had “assistant” on her name tag. Horrible experience no Offers or corrective customer service will never be staying here again..

Hello, Thank you for your feedback! I sincerely appreciate your review and comments about your stay. It was my pleasure to meet you at your departure. We agree that cleanliness levels should be at a high level which we always do our best to provide. It is against our protocol/policies to release commercial chemicals to guests to clean for your safety. I was happy to see when we initially received your complaint, we sent a team member up to clean those issues for you. During our correspondence the morning of your departure, I observed there was some issues with your stay and asked for further details about your experience to which you stated you were upper management yourself and only wished to correspond with the General Manager, not the Assistant General Manger. I wish I had the opportunity to provide you solutions at check out and am so deeply apologetic you felt my customer service was anything less than exceptional. We strive every day to provide the best Guest Services imaginable and agree it is unacceptable to provide anything else. I really hope you will choose to return so we may have the chance to show you how wonderful we really can be! Best, Brittany F Assistant General Manager

First of all, the Nautica Suite is not a suite, so they shouldn't call it that. There isn't anywhere to put your bathroom toiletries in the bathroom, you have to use the kitchenette counter for your things. The "suite" is touted as having two shower heads in the shower. Yes, there are two shower heads but its a TUB, not a shower, and it is a normal size tub. Why would you not make it bigger to accommodate two people? Why would you put two shower heads in a tub in the first place? Should be a walk in shower. When you turn one head on, other one doesn't come out of the head, it comes out the tub faucet. Makes no sense. The shower pressure is also horrible. The room is 77 degrees without the ability to lower the temperature. I understand this is the coast and a/c is not necessary, but you should have the ability to control the temperature in the room. When I asked the front desk about this, I was advised to either leave the patio door open or use the box fan (provided). For $300/weekend night in off season, it is definitely not worth it. When I expressed my disappointment to the front desk, I was offered water. I'm not thirsty, I'm hot. Am I supposed to pour the water on myself in bed? What a weird thing to offer. I would rather check out early (staying 2 nights) but was informed there is no refund policy. I haven't had a vacation in months and was so looking forward to this. I'm mad, disappointed, and would rather be home at this point.

Hello slippyking, Thank you for your candid comments! We thank you for your feedback in regards to the tub, shower, room for toiletries, and suite type name. We will look into those promptly! I am so sorry it was so warm at the coast during your visit, it is rare for the coast to get to that temperature and we do our best to ensure all our guest are comfortable though we do not have air conditioning similar to other hotels in Lincoln City. I have happy to see our Guest Services Agents offered a variety of solutions and complimentary bottles of water on ice as a gesture to help improve your guest experience. I am so sorry this stay was absolutely exceptional for you. We do hope you will choose to visit us once more perhaps in the winter months in a room type that has more of the amenities you desire. Please don't hesitate to call us when thinking of traveling to Lincoln City next! Best, Brittany F Assistant General Manager
