Where to begin? With check-in, a dissatisfied guest was ahead of me. When it was my turn, I had to re-negotiate the on-line terms booked through Bookings Dot Com. They had not received the reservation and we worked out a compromise. They might not have been the friendliest staff, but at least they were willing to negotiate. I requested a non-smoking room and was given one. The sign on my door said no smoking within 10 feet. Even though it was a non-smoking room, it smelled like a smoking room, but it was also musty. One blanket had a cigarette burn hole. Even in a smoking room, that would have been out of place. The mattresses and box springs were wrapped in zippered plastic protectors. Infer what you will from that. As someone who once worked in hotel maintenance, the real reason I gave it a one instead of a two or three is the poor maintenance. The toilet in my room required three flushes. If I worked in maintenance, it would have taken 15 minutes and maybe $10 in parts to fix the problem. The water never got hot enough to shower. When I left, I dropped the key in a basket. Staff was not around to take my feedback regarding maintenance issues.

We were just passing through, only stayed the one night. I remember it needing a fresh lick of paint, but clean enough - walls very thin though! Staff were friendly. Good location. just off the freeway, with a few dinner options nearby.

Pro: Hot shower, lots of water, safe location in decent neighborhood with easy access to freeway. Cons: Not particularly service dog friendly. They moved me to pet room upon learning about my service dog (as evidenced by scratches on the back of the door). They suggested a pet fee nonchalantly and then brushed it off when they saw that I knew this wasn't a legal request. They asked for service dog "paperwork" (which doesn't exist!) but then gave in when I mentioned this. The floor of my room (255) was dirty and unswept, there was still trash in the trashcan from the last tenant, I found hair on the counter, and a dirty wash rag on the floor behind the nightstand. The walls are very thin and there was a lot of noise early in the morning (Saturday) from the other rooms and the parked cars out front. This is a hotel with quite a few permanent residents and it’s a little bit run down, but for $60 we could’ve done worse. The free breakfast consisted of coffee, Little Debbie-type snacks, and a couple pieces of fruit. Overall, it was a place to sleep where I felt safe so I could get on my journey again the next day. I will likely pay more to stay in a better place next time I venture through La Grande, OR.

First of all, if I could give this hotel a 0 star rating, I would. The lady at the front desk was so unprofessional from the moment I walked in. She was so rude and just plain nasty. As if it was, I was already stressed about my wedding day and all I wanted was a place to get ready in with some friends to help. She made my whole experience there just horrible. She best be the owner (which I believe was) because if not that’s very bad for the business.

When we checked in, they had already tried to give it to someone else. When we got to the room it was at least 90 degrees and was unbearable. After some time, when it finally cooled down and we started to settle in, We found someone's dirty socks, the source of a bad smell. We booked for three days and left after one night. Disgusting place. Will not trust trip advisor any longer for there review period.....
