Stayed 3 nights in one of the bigger cabins & one of only 2 of them on the lakefront. More of our group had the other. The cabin was very clean with fresh beds, towels, clean kitchen & dishes. Probably better decorated & furnished than I expected - after all, it's a CABIN. Loved being near the water with nothing blocking the view from this cabin. We noticed the grounds keepers and staff work like a well-oiled machine every early morning, preparing for a busy weekend of guests. The marina staff was helpful to provide a last-minute request for a boat slip and even replaced one of the bumpers that had gone missing. (probably just came untied).Complaints regarding the cabin are too small to mention. The Lodge however, has some work to do. Even though they're not shy about saying how short-staffed they are, that doesn't give the staff that is there an excuse for not being excellent themselves. The cooks/wait staff mixed up orders like crazy or didn't catch any of the requested exceptions. Although very friendly. The Saturday night BBQ buffet... PASS. The line to get our food was over an hour of standing, they ran out of the major sides, refused to accept to-go orders from inside the Lodge so we could eat outside and enjoy the music (great band on Aug 13th!) and the marina's pizza oven "wasn't working" (Although those who pre-ordered pizzas for a specific pick-up time got theirs. How does that work?) It felt like people were being forced to the buffet by eliminating all other options during the 4-8pm entertainment. The buffet was just bad. Tri-tip was tough, ribs were 100% fat/rare/cold, the potato salad & corn on the cob was all gone, and so was the free lemonade. Then you had to stand in an equally long line to order/pay for drinks. Although it said no outside food during this time, we finally just went and got drinks from our cabin anyway and enjoyed the music and atmosphere which, without the chaos of the Lodge's food situations, was wonderful! Bottom line: YES on the cabin. YES on the marina. NO on Saturday dinner at the Lodge. YES on the Saturday entertainment.

We spent 3 nights here in our RV. It is a beautiful setting, and in late May/early June was very quiet. Beautiful mountain lake, great hiking and biking, wonderful restaurant and friendly, helpful staff. We've already booked our return visits.

My brother came out west to visit us after a 20 yr. hiatus. We rented cabin # 12 for 3 nights. He had never seen (in person) the Oregon Cascades. I have to admit Lake of the Woods is beautiful. I have been in S. Oregon for 17 years, and have spent much $ and time there. I have very fond memories there. The water is crystal clear, abundant variety of fish, and the scenery is off the chart. I also like the fact that it is a natural lake and can be used all year long. 5 stars on these attributes. Now the bad. the 4 PM check in is wrong, and much too late. If a person has to vacate at 11:00 AM and checks in at 4 PM he loses 5 hrs. of the day. The internet service is very weenie. At cabin 12 we could not use the grill (70's era) was bent and broken to the point it was unusable. The TV is the smallest made I think, about a 14" it looks like. The red headed young lady at the registration desk at the store is short with folks, and not very friendly. The manager of the marina charged me $30.00 cancelation fee on a boat slip we rented for three days, and never used it. As a matter of a fact my boat broke down 30 min. later and we reloaded it on the trailer, and never used it. Really? I had to find one of the owners to get him to OK the $30.00 back on the Discover card. I still haven't had that put back on it yet! This is a small area in S. Oregon. There are few places where folks can escape the valley heat. Too bad hard working people have to deal with that on vacation. On a positive note Emily, the room cleaner (cabin) is very friendly, and helpful.

We had Cabin 8. We had to move the side of the Queen Bed away from wall so Wife could get into bed. When we did this, we found dust and dirt under where the bed had been! Sad! Resort Resturant: Ordered vegan Burger. It came with bacon on it! Very Sad!

My husband of 15 years and I went on our first trip together. The atmosphere was great and even though they were short staffed the restaurant and cabin were amazing. I love the sweethearts special they offered. 🥰

Well long story rented cabin with my 2 Chihuahua payed xtra for pets. Manager said no pets in that room and called me to change me to room for dogs. I ask is this new room comprible to current room i researched she said oh yes absolutely! I said ok then. Room had nothing but hard benches to sit on. No living room like the other. 2 bedrooms and a kitchen all hard wood picnic style, bench seats. Now im a diabled person. So i had my wife drive 75 miles to take the dogs back home so we could get back room with living room couch recliner etc. So i called front desk and they put manager on phone, i explained i am disabled ,broken back. Cant sit on those hard benches. Can i get back original room it was #1.the room they moved me to is room #9a.i was told no that room requires 2 night rental only cant move u there for one day. Look up rooms on there site and u will feel my pain. So stuck in this room. Bought a folding chair and sat on front porch for two days. Office called me and said they would take off cost of the dogs for one night since we took them home. And they did not. Cost me over 400.00 for 2 day rental. My name curtis kinney

We love coming up here off season so we don't need to compete with the crowds. The location and surrounding area is gorgeous. Restaurant, as usual great. However, this is a review of the cabin. The good: it was a nice little cabin with lots of amenities. The kitchen had almost everything you n needed except a toaster (maybe they had one, but we couldn't find it). I found it strange they had a metal spatula for non-stick pans. The floor was vinyl planking - good for pets since the grounds were muddy. The bathroom was large, but meant for handicapped individuals. The bad: the deal breaker and why we left one day early. The bed was horrible. It was the smallest "queen" bed we've seen. Hard, lumpy, bouncy, and caved in so we kept rolling to the center. That and the very noisy furnace, when it kicked in, was why we got very little sleep. If you stay here, you may want to get a newer, more expensive cabin or bring a 2 inch foam topper for the bed. But be prepared to be woken whenever the furnace, located in the bedroom, turns on. It's like a blast furnace kicking in. Other annoyances: the shower curtain kept falling down. The toilet seat was loose and I tried to tighten it as much as I could without crawling under it. The wi-fi was too weak to reach the cabin, but thank goodness was had cellular. The roads were all very muddy. And the ramp up to the cabin was slick and dangerous to use when it snowed. Fortunately, there were stairs as an alternate. The cleaning supervisor was very nice and accommodating. The check-in staff was mostly nice, but they followed the 4:00 check in policy to a "t". Not a minute sooner. Bottom line: get a cabin that cost more than $150 a night, be prepared to bring a bed topper and hope you have cellular coverage. By the way, the wi-fi is strong at the lodge. If you stay when it's wet outside be prepared for mud and consider bringing slippers for indoors.

This is a amazing place to stay. The cabins are nice and clean. The price for the cabins is not bad either. The only recommendation I could make is that on the weekend the store, restaurant and lounge could stay open a little later. By the time we got back from a snowmobiling ride they were closed. Even with that this place still gets a 5 star review from me!

Nice resort area that can be very busy. Restaurant on site that was excellent, boat rentals, paddle boards etc. Our RV site, 17 was excellent with nice views and lots of trees. No phone service for us, but others did have service. My only issues is that the restrooms/showers were really dated and dirty. Lots of spider webs etc. My biggest complaint is the dust. Although they will water the gravel roads in the morning on occasion the dust picks up later in the day to the point you cannot open your door or windows. The biggest offenders were the employees in golf carts and and work vehicles. They drive by constantly stirring up the dust. Without that, I would have given a higher rating.
