We stayed in a ground level Chalet with our dog. The room was clean, comfortable and had the basic amenities that one would need. The Dog box was great, nice touch to our stay! There is a coffee shop on the grounds, we were able to grab coffee and a breakfast sandwich/cinnamon roll for breakfast. Within walking distance to shops, tram and activities. It was surprisingly quiet in the evenings. Our only complaint would be the heavy footed neighbor upstairs, but they quieted down eventually. We found all of the staff to be very friendly.

We decided at last minute to go to wallowa lake from The Grand. What an amazing beautiful drive. Just breathtaking. We decided on eagle caps Lodge. Last minute, not really too much research on my end. The room was very clean and large. The bed was very comfortable. Great great shower. My only complaint probably is, the air/heating unit. I finally had to just turn it completely off so that we could sleep. It would come on and off through the temperature control. So annoying. But I mentioned it to management and he said they're replacing them very soon. So, I guess I would just ask about the unit before you bring all your stuff up to the room. Felt like it was a little overpriced but being up right by the lake you have to pay a little extra I guess.

Thank you for your review. We're very sorry your experience was less than perfect. We have been working very hard to upgrade all our units and make them as pleasant and comfortable as we can.

Visited for a friend's wedding up at Lake Wallowa. Reservation and check-in was simple and no-hassle. Option to upgrade to a cabin instead of a room was available, though we declined. Room was simple and no frills, but clean and comfortable. TV was really small and the cable signal was almost unwatchable with no digital TV Guide, but that's about the only complaint. Shower water pressure and temperature were great. Mattresses were firm (which for us was a good thing, but of course that's completely subjective). $110+/night feels pretty steep given the simple arrangements, but given the convenience of being up at the Lake instead of down in Joseph or Enterprise, I suppose the cost is justified.

Thank you for your review! Our location at the lake makes cable impossible and satellite reception difficult. However, we are working with our provider to upgrade our reception, and we're also negotiating with a fiber optic provider to perhaps obtain enough internet bandwidth to be able to offer streaming services. Stay tuned!

Got one their "standard motel-style" rooms (second floor) on short notice, equipped with wifi, a microwave, coffeemaker, compact fridge with freezer compartment, phone, and flat screen TV. The TV was fuzzy but usable. Room size was adequate for a two-night stay, given that we were outdoors almost all day. Parking spaces are sized OK for sedans but not for P/U trucks common to the area. Very limited dining options in the immediate neighborhood but the town of Joseph is just 10 minutes up the road. Staff were unfailingly cheerful and helpful. Surroundings are peaceful and scenic, with deer visiting the front lawn. Enjoyed a pleasant stay in a clean, comfortable room.

We had the most amazing stay with you. The cabin was beautiful and loved the wildlife. Wallowa Lake is a family tradition! We stayed in Lake Tahoe, The Landing... CA; 3 week before for a room 1/3 the comfort for a $1,000 a night with a wedding outside our door and no quiet. You had genuine customer service where it was very forced customer service there. Your prices are outstanding. The town and small town atmosphere is like home. You have the greatest most polite and hospitable employees and truly enjoyed our stay!

People were friendly and the cinnamon rolls were wonderful! We staid in a condo and hotel room. Both were nice, clean. But there are a couple *buts*. The condo was cute and fairly comfortable considering the smallish space, but the fridge was constantly running loudly. The kids jumping upstairs made the whole place rattle & the kitchen was missing things we consider basic, like salt & pepper, a kettle and paper towels. I find the price a little steep considering the lack of investment. It is a wonderful area though and right near trailheads. It was nice to have a pool to use. Most importantly, the staff didn't wear masks consisently indoors. Some, preparing food had the mask under their nose, one at the counter had no mask at all and they didn't require customers to wear masks, so that it felt risky to pick up my cinnamon rolls. Despite the governor's mandate posted on the door. Unacceptable.

We stayed in a standard room. The rooms have micros and fridges. They have TVs with fuzzy reception, and you can rent a DVD from the very small selection in the office. The people in the office, which offers snacks and espresso as well as some travel/gift items, are nice. The AC/heater system has a constant fan option, which I appreciate as I'm a light sleeper and it keeps noises from waking me up. There is a lawn area, the smallest mini golf course I've ever seen, and a stand with milkshakes and a couple of little tables. Pleasant stay here. Parking limited, my parents had to park a ways down the road one night. Little table with two old and saggy sitting chairs in the room. Chairs and benches right outside the room doors is nice for drinking a beer or coffee outside, although it's just a view of the parking lot.

Starting with the staff, no one was wearing a mask despite the statewide mandate. The rooms were like a dive motel, old cracked linoleum, old scratchy pilled sheets, tiny fuzzy tv, no wifi, no internet after 8:30 PM, rude staff, smell of stale cigarettes in ancienct stained carpet.

...and that's saying something. We stayed in cabin 5 and it for sure only sleeps 2. The mattress was springs with just fabric covering. No padding to speak of and no egg crate or thermarest topper. My kids tried not to complain, but it was really terrible and when it opened it was less than 6 inches from the fireplace. Seemed like a fire hazard to me. The rest of the place was alright, but they could have included lamps in the bedroom and go so far as to stock salt and pepper in the kitchen.

Located right next to the tram. Close walk to the lake or the trailhead. We stayed in the 3rd floor 2 bedroom one bathroom condo so we definitely got our steps in during the day. Small pool and hot tub onsite as well as coffee shop, ice cream stand and mini golf. Kitchen had everything you need except no dishwasher, decor was a little dated, but comfortable. Bedrooms are on the small side. TV in main room had built in DVD player and satellite TV channels. Unit has air conditioning, though it’s in the main room so bedrooms can get a little warm but there are box fans. Deer frequently walk through the property.
