Absolutely beautiful! The lodge is beautiful and the area in which it is located is gorgeous. If you don't want to stay in the lodge, they have cabins available and they are very nice! We spent Christmas there one year and rented 3 cabins for our families. It was magical! There are also resident deer who can be VERY friendly...

What fun. They have restored this historic hotel. And it was a treat not to be in an ordinary square box, ugly print room. They were creative with the room decor. Dont expect TVs in the rooms. It isnt that kind of place. Old school romantic.

Historic 1923 lodge on shores of Wallowa Lake, clearly needs new ownership and management. Heater didn't work; replaced with a cheap portable. Two lightbulbs out. Toilet failed in middle of night. The management offered not a bit of compensation; hardly apologized. Tired, just tired.

Very pleasant stay, like a step back in time. We stayed in Tamarack cabin with knotty pine walls and even a fireplace with wood. It had turned chilly and it was nice to sit and read with a fire going. Great reading lamps by the bed, kitchen supplies and microwave. Suggest bringing something to cook in the room, the restaurant...

I always feel it's a bad sign when you're greeted by a musty smell when walking into the lobby of a hotel. The Wallowa Lake Lodge must have been nice at one time, but it is sorely in need of renovation that respects the period in which it was built. Everything is tired looking; room was small and short on...

Our 2-night stay at this beautiful lodge was a gift from our son. The lodge and the entire area surrounding the lodge are beautiful and well-kept. When we walked into the lodge, it was like walking back into time. It was such an inviting and peaceful feeling. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in Room 305, which...

Lovely historic lodge. A bit too rustic to be comfy. We knew what to expect at the time we made reservations but both hubby and I have knee problems so the constant need to walk up and down the stairs was not fun. The deer freely run around the property and are not frightened of the guests. Lodge is very...

Thanks for your review, Leane. You are correct--all the guestrooms are located on either the second or third floor of this historic building. The new owners are evaluating options for how to make the Wallowa Lake Lodge more accessible without losing the rustic feel. We hope to see you again and suggest booking one of the eight cabins surrounding the...

How is this the #3 of 4 hotels in Joseph?? This is a wonderful older quaint hotel with lots of charm. It doesn't have all the amenities of a newer hotel but it makes up for it with charm, warmth and comfort. We stayed in a room on the 3rd floor overlooking the parking lot. Had hoped for a lake...

Seated at a window, looking down the lawn toward the lake, ordered a bottle of Oregon red wine. A young guy was our waiter, a bit inexperienced, but did fine. We both had the salmon which was perfectly cooked, with a lemon butter. Everything tasted fine and the warm chocolate cake with ice cream was really good. Our experience was...

This was our 2nd stay at this delightful historic lodge. Although built in 1923, it has weathered time quite well. You won't have a TV or phone in your room, the floor may creek a bit,the bathroom may or may not have a shower BUT you don't need those things to enjoy the experience this lodge has to give. The...
