Steamboat Inn is a unique place. Located in the middle of no where it is on the bank of the Umpqua River. Rooms are nice and cozy. Steamboat's approach to things is pretty simple. The food is fantastic. Had one of the best steaks of my life. Breakfast is great too. Emphasis is on Local and south Oregon items on the menu.
We absolutely loved our stay at the Steamboat Inn! Our family of four adults fit very nicely in one of the cottages. The view of the river was gorgeous and we loved the hikes along the river and to the waterfall. Wish we had more time to enjoy this lovely, peaceful environment.
Stayed one night in a chalet - very comfortable for four people. One BR and a loft with twin beds. One very large bath but two doors so it was private. Interesting vertical soaking tub which we didn't try - would have taken quite a while to fill! Tiny kitchen area with stove top served us well for a breakfast. Very clean and they clearly added to that for COVID. The chalets are not on the river - across the main road and about .5 mile from the main lodge. Very nicely done with a small grass clearing in front and porch with chairs. Several buildings close together. It was very quiet for us but I could imagine that a large group in multiple cabins could be disruptive. Ate at the lodge which was excellent. Service was great and the outdoor seating under a tree with lights was really nice. Given where we were and what we were eating, the price was reasonable. Absolutely beautiful area with hiking along the river. Sadly, we didn't get to fish but even in August, there were people out there. Note that you will be in a cell-free area and there's no TV. The lodge has wifi and there were some working in the lobby/courtyard.…
My wife and I were checking out the water falls in the area and had timed it so that we would arrive at Steamboat Inn at lunch time. Very hot days and lots of smoke from all the surrounding wildfires had pushed us toward a one day road trip into the mountains. The timing was perfect so we choose the outdoor seating under a nice shade tree. The staff were all properly wearing their masks as well as very friendly and efficient. The view of he North Umpqua River is awesome and panoramic. A yummy BLT and wine made a perfect getaway from the dire presence of the Covid 19. We were so impressed that we booked a room for next month.
Charming, small hotel right above the river. Excellent restaurant and very helpful staff. Great area for hiking. We stayed in one of the suites, they are very private and have a tiny kitchenette. We have been here several times and continue to come back whenever possible.
