Certificate of Excellence
This Oregon legend was built in 1924 along the banks of the scenic Rogue River. It was a vacation retreat to many Hollywood personalities such as Clark Gable, Carol Lombard and Walt Disney. In 1993, Country House Inns purchased the Weasku Inn and began restoring it. In September of 1998, the restoration was complete, the five rooms in the Lodge having been updated, while the original character and splendor was maintained. In addition, eleven cabins were built on the property and an original A Frame cabin remodeled. Since its completion, "Travel and Leisure Magazine" named this historic landmark "one of the top 25 Lodges in the United States". Recently, in "1,000 Places to See Before You Die: A Traveler's Life List ", Patricia Shultz declared the Weasku Inn one of those "must see" places. We invite you to step back in time, restore yourself and create new beginnings at the wonderful Weasku Inn. We are in the opening stages of being in Covid-19 quarantine. Even though there had to be numerous changes in procedures for the Inn for safety of staff and quests. I thought our stay was perfect. I'm sure the lodge was short staffed, but everyone was helpful and our cabin #18 was found in clean conditions. I didn't understand the heating/air conditioning unit until I saw the note and thermostat on the wall. The porch view was peaceful and inviting with the rocking chairs. Like I said early, the country has been in a quarantine. I have been in a apartment for seven weeks. The lodge with its views were wonderful. The rocking chairs and table were dusty, but was that something to complain about? It's all in your perspective, I suppose. The appetizers were fresh and delicious. Breakfast was served on time to our cabin. The food was hot and tasty. It wasn't the normal arrangements, but the lodge provided like usual. I posted many pictures of our room, the lodge and it's history on Facebook. I will come back again and again.

We stayed in #41, a King Cabin with river view for our anniversary. It was our second time there. We arrived two hours before check in, and were told the cabin would be ready in 1/2 hour, and they would call me when ready. So we walked around the property for an hour, then waited on the porch. After another hour, (now it was past check in time of 3:00pm) I went inside to ask if our cabin was ready, and waited another 20 minutes while the clerk struggled with a couple who had issues with their reservation. Once I got to speak with the clerk, and asked if they forgot about me. I instantly got an attitude when she said " I just started my shift and don't know what you're talking about". When we finally got into our cabin, I tried to turn off the A/C, but none of the buttons worked, so I finally unplugged it. The little table on the porch was broken and the legs were folding under, so we didn't use it. The cleaning we waited so long for was very marginal, there was hair on the bathroom sink, it looked like water had been spilled on the carpet (hopefully water) and not mopped up. Socks got wet walking into the bathroom every time. The TV remote was greasy and overall cleaning was really marginal. Not what I expected and not the kind of service Carl would tolerate.

My husband and I were in room 23 - Cabin with King Bed and River View; we were very happy with the room...loved the outdoor patio with the rocking chairs and the cozy setup of the cabin with a sofa in front of the gas rock fireplace and the very comfortable bed. The grounds were beautiful...the appetizers and breakfast were delicious as well. The staff members were very pleasant and accommodating. Restaurants were a short drive away.

I will have to say this was really hard to write this review. This was our 4th time Staying. It was not only my husbands favorite place to stay for our Anniversary weekends but it was also a place we have referred many of our clients. Some of the young staff that checked us in was very accommodating. We normally stay the weekend in one of the king spa river cabins. I had let them know we were just there in November, and front desk was very apologetic and mentioned they had a new computer system and my info was not in there. Not a problem I told her we have been coming here for our Anniversary for the Last 4 yrs. She was very nice and told us our cabin was already . We had purchased the wine Tasting package through Travel Zoo. We were set up in the King River Cabin near the Trail, # 42. We were so excited, it was my husbands birthday weekend and couldn’t wait to enjoy the cabin. I kept smelling a strong fragrance coming from the closet that let to the bathroom, i looked up and someone left their sweater in the closet. I went to take it out on patio and leave it for the house keeper since it was giving me a headache. As I went to put it outside I noticed the table was dirty and had a ashtray full of cigarette butts. There were also missing amenities missing ,like the bath salts, so I elected to go to the front desk and ask. I spoke to a Mgr (I didn’t get her name I didn’t think I would need it). Later, we had wanted to have our Happy Hour appetizers in our room and enjoy the fireplace. As we sat the table rocked if you leaned on it and our chairs were really wobbly. Again, we didn’t want to spoil our weekend and made it work. We needed ice for our drinks so I sent my husband. He had to go to the office to get the ice where the front desk agent wasn’t very friendly. I asked what happened he said she was cussing at someone? I asked are you sure it was her? He said all I heard was cussing and she comes back from the back. I thought well maybe someone called out sick or they are short staffed, trying to make light of it since it was again our weekend away. The next Morning (Monday) of check out we get dressed and go enjoy the complimentary breakfast and coffee. We were the only couple in the dining room. Until, a worker comes in while we are eating she doesn’t say Good Morning like they have always have in the past . But, turns to my husband and ask what us what Room are we are staying in ? Seriously? We own a business and we are professionals and we had been there all weekend and we ignored all the little incidentals that made this place special to us. But to see the hurt in my husbands face he said he never felt so insulted. We were dressed nice, we weren’t transients that came off the street we were guests. We got up and left, as I checked out I wanted to speak to the Front Desk Mgr but then I thought would she make it right? Or just insult me and I have to tell my husband our Anniversary next fall can’t be here and it be ruined. So I thought I would let the corporate know my experience this past weekend. This has been our place, and it’s heartbreaking to think we cannot spend another Anniversary at Weasku inn.

Response from Paula T, General Manager at Weasku Inn

Jaebrownharnden Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review about your recent experience at the Weasku Inn. We are disheartened to hear that many elements of your stay were disappointing to say the least, and on behalf of the entire staff at the Weasku Inn, I want to apologize that your stay was impacted so severely and that we failed to exceed the standards you have experienced during previous stays. I understand that this was especially upsetting considering it was your husband’s birthday. We thank you for letting us know of the issues you and your spouse experienced and we apologize for not being able to change the circumstances while you were with us. I would like to continue our phone conversation at your earliest convenience. I look forward to hearing back from you. Best Regards,

If you like rustic elegance you should stay here! We stayed in room 42, the King Cabin. The room was clean, cozy and thoughtfully laid out. The Inn is convenient to Highway 5 and 99. We used it as a base to drive into Northern California for work since Medford, Oregon had the closest airport. The employees are extremely friendly and the room came with a generous breakfast. On Saturday, breakfast included delicious made to order waffles with toppings. In the evening warm cookies were laid out for guests and very reasonably priced local wines are available by the glass to sip around the outdoor fire pit. The grounds include redwoods, the Rogue River, ponds and paths. I highly recommend this place!
