Hotel's Favorite
We booked during our road trip so just needed somewhere to stop after a long drive and we were really pleasantly surprised, firstly good price,then to find a huge room overlooking the river. Then had a little swim and sauna to unwind and great meal across the road in there restaurant which was great, tasty and lovely service from Rosie. Thanks Jots (even saw a whale coming up the estuary from our room)

We seemed to have gotten one of the rennovated rooms as it was excellent. Very spacious, great view of the river king room. The TV set was magnificient. It was clean. I will say that we only stayed one night and so were not bothered by the fact that they are not currently providing housekeeping. Also the fitness center and the laundary room were not available. They didn't provide breakfast or coffee, which I guess they used to. Given some of the extremely negative reviews of this property on Trip Advisor we were expecting the worst and were thus pleasantly suprised.

On the river, nice view of the bridge. Friendly, clean place to stay. Small rooms, basic accommodation. We didn’t use the pool or hot tub. Nothing fancy, showing it’s age. Walk to the North Landing for supper. I would stay here again. The area is amazing and what more do you need than a clean and safe place to sleep?

We were really looking forward to a much needed getaway, to rest and enjoy comfort. I was assured this was a newly renovated room, with 'Deluxe' linens and amenities. We are business owners, our customers are everything to us. Customer service, courtesy, value for price and cleanliness are priorities. The fact is, this is an over priced fishing motel for guys, nothing deluxe about it. Our room smelled like a wet, dirty dog. It stunk. The carpet was dirty and riddled with stains and clearly hadn't been vacuumed (or perhaps the vacuum isn't sufficient for the job), dog hair appeared on shoes. I didn't ask for a 'pet friendly' room, nor was I advised if it was one. The bathroom and shower flooring also need a deep cleaning. Hard bed. There were open garbage cans on each level of outside stairs and flies galore as you pass by, climbing stairs to your room. The entire property needs maintenance, cleaning and upgrading. Their restaurant. Sorry to have to give addl negative review, but many things. New (she said) waitress - and the only one. She tried, but comments like 'sorry we're taking so long, we're trying to scrape the bottom of the barrel for your soup, but there just wasn't quite enough, so they're fixing something.' 'Out of salads' she said. And the scallops and halibut served were hard, dry, yet greasy. This was not fresh fish one would expect on the coast, it was frozen foods from a box. Sorry Jots, you need an array of improvement, especially for a hotel/hospitality based business. And the front desk employee didn't bother to ask 'how was your stay', or 'did you enjoy your stay', or even thank you for coming. Again sorry, I wish I wasn't leaving a bad review, but was compelled to state the facts. Hard working folks don't appreciate spending hard earned money on less than expected services. We can't recommend you.

Stayed for four nights. During stay our room was NEVER serviced. Called and requested towels, tissue, tp and was told to come to the office to pickup. Trash was never removed from room. So was told to leave outside room where it remade for 2 days. Stepped on a sliver of glass on the floor which hadn’t appeared to be vacuumed. Coffee available in the office at 6am, but on our last day at 7:30am it was not made. The staff doesn’t give a …:..about you or anything else. Never again!!!

I booked through hotels.com I got a pet friendly hotel for us to bring my sons emotional support dog he has trouble sleeping at night with out her. On hotels.com there was nothing on there informing me that I could not leave my dog unattended. When I checked in the front desk asked me if I had any animals and I informed her of my sons emotional support dog. All she said was ok I just needed to know so the cleaners can do a pet clean. And then handed me a paper to sign. I should have read it. I gave it back and she told me about the restaurant next door that was good. Which wasn’t pet friendly so how was I supposed to go if I couldn’t bring my pet? Anywho the next day we did a few of the things we wanted to do that we could not bring our dog with us and came back and checked on her. She was fine we filled up her water. She had food left over. And we left after about an hour of hanging out there to do another thing she couldn’t come with. When we got back she was gone. We had her on the back porch because she enjoys being outside and if she had an accident easy clean up. We were all in a panic so I called the front desk and they rudely went off on me saying that they took her because she was left there unattended for forever. And neighbors were complaining that she was just left there. They told me they were going to call the cops on me and take her to the humane society. I get really bad anxiety so it’s hard for me to confront people. I went to the front desk and retrieve her. And notice they have her leash. Which they would have had to rummage through our things to get that. She went off on me saying it’s neglectful to leave a dog unattended and all I’m thinking is people leave their dogs in kennels when they go to work. The back porch is a nice size and it’s the same lady that checked me in she told me they aren’t allowed by themselves and I said if I knew that I would have figured something else out. And went back to the room. I called hotels.com and complained. And they said they would talk to the manager the next day. While we were waiting for a call from hotels.com we talked to both neighbors this morning and one didn’t even know she was back there and the other said she was perfectly fine and they even like pet her every time she stuck her head over to say hi. They were going to say something to the people taking her but decided not to get involved. Not that long after we heard a knock on the door and they sent a man up who said because we complained to hotels.com we will be getting kicked out 1 day early. They said they would be refunding us for the day and my boyfriend was upset they went through our things and the man said it’s his room he can do what he wants. We got informed later that we would not be getting a refund for the day we got kicked out even though we were gone before check out. It was very traumatizing for my children seeing their dog gone when we got to our room. And they also fed her when they shouldn’t have. Now she is sick. This whole experience definitely ruined our vacation.

Ants in my room and wasn't offered another room because they were sold out. Was given an ant trap but alas I woke up with them crawling on me. Was told by the lovely lady at the front desk to get out and come back when the manager came in several hours later. Sam didn't even want to hear our story and basically sided with his employee. Great customer service!

Our room - up three short flights of stairs and facing the Rogue River bridge and inlet, was clean and bright with more than ample space and a covered balcony with fine views. There was a giant flat screen TV, a good king bed, and an updated bathroom. Be sure to ask for a newly upgraded room on an upper floor - if you can handle the stairs. Currently there is minimum housekeeping - but it is available as needed. We did fine on our 4-night stay, and we felt it was an excellent value for what we paid.

I am currently here about to check out and this is one of the top 5 worst places I’ve stayed. When we got my husband asked if we were able to check in early and one of the girls at the front said yes. The other had attitude and said most people don’t check in until 4. Check in time is 2 at this place. We came her with another family that arrived the night prior to us. When I book the room I called and asked if we could be moved next to each other. The lady at the front explained our room was unmovable because of the kind we got, but she could move our friend right above us. That did not happen, we were in completely different buildings. Room was dirty and the beds are double beds not the 2 queen deluxe room with kitchenette that we booked. The room was dirty, no cable and the balcony is shared. When we realized our cable wasn’t working later into the night, we were told that someone would be by to fix it. Surprise surprise no one ever showed up. I am so upset we paid for this room and will never be returning again. The only plus part is we didn’t have to pay full price because my husband is veteran and we got a discount.
