We stayed 2 nights for our niece's wedding weekend. Even though it was the hottest weekend of the year (when we pulled into the lodge it was 101 degrees) we had a great time. The place is perfect for weddings and large groups. Both restaurants were great, the "Doctor's Office" bar and game room was a blast, and the soaking... More

We just stopped in for dinner. This would be a fun place to spend a couple days but plan on eating somewhere else. We waited for service in the restaurant for thirty minutes and were literally ignored by 5 waiters. There were only 6 occupied tables including use and we could not even get a menu tossed our way. We... More

I recently spent the weekend at the Grande Lodge, it was my first McMenamin's experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was on a solo trip for a wedding and so I got a bunk bed room. My room was downstairs just down from the Doctor's office bar. This is such a great venue for a wedding, I didn't really... More

What a great place to stop in and have breakfast on the way to wine tasting. We live on the west side of Portland, and there are few places worth stopping at for breakfast between Beaverton, and the Carlton area. Let alone the fact that this is one of the more amazing properties owned by the McMenamins. With it's great... More

On a super hot sat we stopped in for some ac but just couldn't find it. The bar outside by the disc golf course was unique and we enjoyed. Downstairs there was a good nook bar and a game room. It seemed to be a popular wedding venue. Which Added a odd feel but all and all we enjoyed our... More

Hello Trillium W. You are so right Wow it was hot this past weekend. With record setting temperatures I believe. Thanks for coming out despite the heat. Pat's Corner is a nice outside bar with a beautiful setting. Bob's Bar and the Doctors Office bar provided some cooler opportunities to hang out. I'm thankful we do not hit those types... More

Huge hotel with many events ongoing and a large crowd the night we stayed there. Limited menu for dinner, good drink menu and our drinks were excellent. There is a variety of dinner venues. Friendly, hardworking staff. there was live music and a first run movie the night we stayed. The hotel is pet friendly with cats and dogs roaming... More

We stayed here for our anniversary a couple nights ago. Well, sadly, it could have been better. The property itself is beautiful. It was quite deserted on a Tuesday. No music, nothing special, the movie theater was running a kids movie at night .... so much for romance lol. Around 4 pm we decided to hit the disc golf. In... More

The Grand Lodge is one of the prettiest McMenamins locations, in my opinion. The grounds are very beautiful, and the lodge is huge. We stayed on the 2nd floor with a room that had a double bed, a closet, and a sink. The closet had robes for using the soaking pool, extra towels, and an extra pillow and blanket. Our... More

Kelly it was an absolute pleasure having you and your family staying with us. I remember the two reservations and I was concerned about the separation of the family into two rooms. I'm glad it ended up working out. Thank you for the review. More

There is plenty to do on the Grand Lodge grounds. We played disc golf, soaked in the soaking pool, drank beer and ate their yummy cajun tots. Always enjoy the artwork and history that comes with McMenamins.

Stayed at the Grand Lodge this past Sunday. Very interesting place. First, you should know that this is a building from the 1920's, which has been renovated brilliantly, but does not have air conditioning. They do have room fans. It also has common bathrooms, which means you walk down the hall and use a shower and/or toilet with everyone else.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Make a grand escape to McMenamins Grand Lodge! It's all in the details here, with the stately columns and winding drive, wide green lawn, 77 European-style guestrooms, restaurants, movie theater and small bars and some of the most fantastic artwork to ever grace these walls. Built in 1922 as a Masonic & Eastern Star home, the Grand Lodge has stories to tell. Renovated and opened by McMenamins in 2000, what was once tranquil and serene is now vibrant and colorful. Here the walls do speak... As do the doorways, the hallways, and even the overhead pipes. (Look up...)Inspired by the history of the city of Forest Grove and the building itself, McMenamins' artists have infused the Grand Lodge with original artwork and historical photographs - all tributes to the cast of characters who left their mark before us. ... more   less
