Outstanding desk staff, answered questions we had about the area & good recommendations for fun & food. Very clean, & my wife lifts up chair cushions etc always checking wherever we stay. A++. The shower nozzle & H2O pressure was really good. IF I had to say anything negative it would be traffic noise, but they have sound machine to drown out, nice touch. All a block from Old Town Florence.

Thank you rjtremain2015...for staying with us, for your kind comments, for your five-star rating, and for trying to find something negative about us (and essentially failing at it). :-) We love helping guests find the most fun they can fit into a visit, along with great food and drink, and a nice clean, comfortable room to return to after their adventures. Please come again soon.

The lady and I have to work on VDay 2020 so we went to the coast on Monday and Tuesday before to take advantage of our days off. The Old Town Inn in Florence Oregon was our destination and our first time visiting.
As soon as we arrived we noticed easy access into the place (three different locations) and large parking spots. (I like this. You can get out and into your car easier)
Jered was at the front desk this night and was very kind and respectful. Professional and accommodating to our “weekend getaway” and even suggested a room without any neighbors we might possibly disturb.
He informed us of all the accommodations and even asked if we needed extra towels. He let us know the local spot to eat and where and when we could do fun things.
The rooms are VERY presentable and comfortable. The bed was amazing and not one over used. Great lighting. Fun clock with ocean sounds. Fridge and mic. A bathroom that was generous in size to not seem cramped. Hot water on demand. Plenty of drawers and a huge closet.
It’s great that the Old Town Inn is in old historic district. PLENTY of shops and restaurants within a five min walk.
It does say “free breakfast” but this is donuts and fruit. The best part is the office has mass amounts of coffee for refills (the ones in motel rooms are so small. People need there coffee stat! No complaints though. There coffee is organic as well)
All in all.. we will definitely be staying at the Old Town In again for sure.
Veterans get a discount. (Jered is a US NAVY vet as well as I am)
Thanks Jered and Old Town Inn for helping make our special day, much needed time away from the kids, so accommodating and welcoming.

Hi WayfaringWarren, Thank you for choosing The Old Town Inn for your special getaway here in Florence...Oregon's Coastal Playground. Thank you also for your very detailed and positive review, and the five-star rating to go with it. We work hard to earn those and are very grateful. We're sorry for the reference to the free breakfast. We've scrubbed the internet to delete that as we only offer coffee, donuts, fresh fruit, and packaged oatmeal. We just can't compete with all the great breakfast options within walking distance for a full-menu, sit-down service...but it helps keep our price down a little and helps some guests get off to a quick start on their day's adventures. Please keep us in mind for other occasions and come see us again soon.

The front desk lady checking us in was friendly and chatty; she gave us restaurant recommendations The room is clean and includes a microwave and mini-fridge. Hair dryer was at the front desk and was offered to us as we checked in (for Covid reasons). Room had a ceiling fan and stand fan but no air conditioning; the fan was fine as the weather is normally cool. Price was somewhat high for what was offered, but maybe that is because it is on the coast.

Now they are not offering donuts or anything for breakfast.

Hi WaysideTraveler, Thank you very much for choosing the Old Town Inn in Florence for your stay here on the Central Oregon Coast. We appreciate your detailed review (in-room amenities and Covid precautions) and for mentioning our helpful front desk staff. You're right, due to the pandemic we no longer offer a grab-n-go food option in the morning and have removed its mention from every site we can find--and like most locations (homes, offices, shops, lodgings) we don't have AC, but that's why we do have those fans, and security windows that open only at the top by the ceiling fan to quickly cool a room on those rare hot (70-degree+) days. We hope you will stay with us again next time you're out this way.

During a camping road trip down the coast, we decided to get a hotel room on a rainy night. This place was perfect. The woman at the front desk was so friendly and helpful in finding us a place to order take out during pandemic closures. The room was clean and quiet. Loved that it was walking distance to the restaurant!

This Motel is located within a block of the Fishermans Wharf tourist zone. It has comfortable touches to make you feel welcome and special. There's not AC but it's not needed as the coastal breezes come through your window, which has a high opening for security. Coffee is available but you can walk a couple blocks to the Brown Hen for Breakfast. Enjoy your Stay, we sure did.

We stayed 4 nights on the Oregon coast, 2 nights at the Hotel Elliot in Astoria, 1 night at the Hallmark Resort in Newport, and 1 night at the Old Town Inn. We felt that the drive from Newport to Florence was the prettiest part and we enjoyed walking to the Heceta Lighthouse en route. When we first pulled into the Old Towne Inn I was a little nervous that it was located right on the busy Highway 101. But we soon learned that by walking behind the hotel it was a short walk to the waterfront and little shops and restaurants. Our room #134 was very comfortable and reasonably priced (especially compared to the other coastal hotels we stayed at). Florence is a great little stop!

This older, outdated motel was WAY MORE EXPENSIVE than any other place we stayed at on our weeklong coastal drive. The front desk gal was not the friendliest and we had to ask for a hair dryer, ice bucket, etc. The room had a bad odor and the bathroom reeked. The toilet seat was loose, almost sliding off when sat on and the shower head leaked so bad, there wasn't much water pressure. On the plus side, the bed was clean and comfortable with nice pillows. Also, the shampoo and body wash dispensers in the shower were nice.

Hello, the8js, Thank you for staying with us and for pointing out the clean, comfortable bed and that we supply our rooms with dispensers instead of those impractical and environmentally wasteful little shampoo bottles. We are diligent in researching our competitor's prices and are confident that our pricing reflects the cleanliness, quality, location, and convenience we offer. And yes, as we follow state guidelines and industry best-practices for safety and hygiene, we have removed many of the high-touch items in the room, instead offering them during check-in and reminding guests with in-room signage that items like ice buckets and hairdryers are available from the front desk. We are more than happy to bring them to you in your room if you opt not to take them at check-in. We do apologize for our staffer's perceived lack of friendliness (we've spoken to her) and that the room did not reflect our usual demandingly-high standards. We are grateful when guests let us know when there is anything that prevents a five-star experience while they are here so we can address it immediately while the guest is still on site. We have resolved the issues you mentioned and thank you for letting us know. Please consider giving us another try in the future to see why we normally and consistently receive high marks from our guests.

I was searching desperately for a hotel room after being on the road up the coast all day. This innkeeper was the absolutely most accommodating, helpful and kind person. She brought peace and comfort to my road weary soul. Old Town Inn is very conveniently located to walk all of old town area, restaurants, shops and of course the river. I highly recommend this inn.

Several negatives: There were only 2 people in front of me but the receptionist was chatty with each of them. The office was small and due to social distancing, I had to stand outside on a chilly day for about 40 minutes. There wasn't any problem with the guests or rooms. The delay was due to chitchat about weather, the model of the car driven by the guest, etc. Also, there were only 2 sets of towels for a room with 3 people. Water pressure in the shower was not good and temperature wasn't steady.
Another reminder: The building style is like a motel with outside corridors. Guests walking by or congregating right outside your room could be very noisy. They were only a few feet from your pillow.
Positives: Location was good, within walking distance to breakfast restaurants. Sink was outside of the bathroom.

First for the positives, the front desk was nice and the room and bathroom are spacious. The location is also great, close to many shops and restaurants.

Unfortunately, this is still nothing more than a basic motel room. There is no AC (only a fan) and we ended up leaving the front window open, which doesn't feel quite safe. You can also hear anyone who walks by the room. For the price I paid, I feel it's certainly over-priced for a motel.

Hi nstar612, Thank you for staying with us and for your comments. We're glad you enjoyed the room, our friendly staff, and the convenient location. You're right, like most lodgings (and homes, offices, shops, etc.) we lack AC and the City of Florence has denied our plans to install it. But unlike the others, we do offer the extra fans to bring in those cooling nearby ocean breezes. We're glad you could stay with us on a gloriously warm day at the Oregon Coast. We would be happy to direct you to other lodging options in the future to save you money, but keep in mind the overall ratings and reviews you'll find. We're confident that we offer a good and fair value for our price. Maybe try us at other times of the year too?

Do you have guest laundry facilities? If not, is there a laundromat in Florence?
Answer from Scott- G
Greetings from sunny Florence, If you don't mind, please call our front desk to get better answers than I can give you here. The phone numbers are 800-301-6494 or 541-997-7131. In short, our rooms are not fully ADA compliant as the facility was built before the regulations and was "grandfathered" from full compliance. However, we've made several adaptations that have helped many guests. If you haven't already, be sure to request a ground floor room. And yes, the parking lot has plenty of room for a trailer. Thank you for asking. We look forward to your stay. Have a safe trip!
