We booked this hotel (motel) a year in advance of the 2022 Athletics World Championships because it was the only one we could find that was offering affordable rates at the time and we wanted to be sure of having accommodation for the games. It is a 2-star motel and doesn’t pretend to be anything more! The rooms are basic but clean, but if you are staying for several nights, your room will only be made up if you ask for it. However, the staff are really nice and nothing was too much trouble. Loads of restaurants and pubs in the vicinity.

So thankful we found a great clean place to stay as we will be returning regularly to relocate to the area. I called the hotel directly and saved about $8/night over the Expedia site quote (approx $65). This hotel is approximately 1 year old, so the room, fixtures, bedding, tv, etc. are all in immaculate condition. Most are non-smoking rooms; it is a 2 story, L-shaped property. The bathroom has a sink with large granite vanity outside of the separate granite shower/bathtub commode room which works well for multiple people to get ready. There are clean tile floors in the bathroom and closet area, which also holds a good size refrigerator and microwave. There is an ironing board stowed in the closet. There is a writing desk, loveseat with large coffee table, and controllable hvac; the hvac system does not however allow the fan to recirculate the inside air. The bedding was so-o-o-o soft, and there were adequate pillows and blankets for our 2 queen beds. There was even WIRELESS HIGH SPEED INTERNET included. There are wheelchair accessible rooms only on the 1st floor. No elevator, just wide well-lit stairs lead to the 2nd floor rooms. The parking spaces are large, so it's easy to pack and load luggage & family. They have a small lobby with coffee, muffins, fresh fruit and cookies from 7am-10am; guest laundry, fax/copy service & pet friendly. There was a constant stream of traffic on 6th Street, but it sounded more like water swooshing. We only had one train conductor lay on his horn regularly about 6 am, so we considered it a wake-up call. Within walking distance, we found a good chinese place called Jade Palace, but our favorite place is the 6th Street Grill; we will be regulars there for their weeknight specials and breakfasts. Definitely on my recommend list.

The Express Inn is only a few years old, the property is small, neat and clean, with flowers planted where they can. It is a basic travelers hotel, with a small office check in area. The rooms are a decent size and very clean. My only problem was the area had quite a few folks wandering around who didn't seem to have jobs. This concerned me a bit, until we talked with some ladies in the shops downtown who assured us that they might ask for some spare change (and we did get one very polite request) but wouldn't cause any problems. They were right. Tho I probably wouldn't wander around at night here, everything worked out well. There are quite a few small motels in this neighborhood, this seems to be hotel row for Eugene.

I booked a stay at Express Inn & Suites months in advance and forgot to cancel it when my plans changed. On the day the reservation began, I was charged the full amount. While I accepted that I'd never get that money back, I received a call from the manager, Tonya, who said she would see what she could do about getting me a partial refund. Whatever comes of it, I appreciate the gesture very much and wanted to leave a five-star review for that customer service.

Where to start? Let's see from the minute we checked in the manger was completely unprofessional and rude (to all the guest not just my party) within 5 minutes she was banging on the door to tell us to keep it down but all we had done was carry our stuff in. The room was cold and had a weird smell two of the pillows didn't have cases on them, the floors were dirty, the waste basket in the bathroom didn't have a bag and the sink had hair in it. the guest next to us had the TV blaring non-stop and had a cat in the window but the manger insisted it was a pet free motel. She walked around with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth all day was dressed very unprofessionally and her clothes were dirty she never had a face mask on but insisted all guest had to in the parking lot, even if they were just heading to their car. the maids were all on some kind of drugs and all acted really weird and we're very unfriendly, we were afraid to leave any valuables in the room because of the employees and guess that were on the same drugs as the maids it seemed. And as if we would have eaten it but there was no complimentary breakfast as advertised either. Over all it was the worst motel experience I have ever had.

The couch in the room was so stained and dirty we put one of the blankets on it before we sat on it. The white shower curtain was stained with yellow streaks. No coffee pot, no Kleenex, the refrigerator did not work. Only one washcloth provided. The bottles of shampoo had been opened and were half empty.

Terrible buissness practices saying I didn’t stay there or I did in a diffrent room and still not refunding my deposit saying they don’t have a card on file but I have a charge on my account from them. Absolutely zero accountability for sleezy slimey atrocious buissness practices. The room was also falling apart at the seems DO NOT STAY HERE they are scamming people out of there money.

After checking in at the front desk we were greeted with 6 drunk guests partying next to the stairs well. While two staff members were playing badminton in the parking lot around guest vehicles. We got into our room and we found the room shower to be dirty, poor fixed amenities. (Like where pipes leaked and barely fixed the drywall. At 1am had a drunk guess pounding on the room door next to ours and after calling front desk they were unwilling to deal with the problem in which kept my two daughters, my wife and I up for thirty plus minutes. We will never stay here again.

After reading the previous reviews I think those visitors must have stayed at a different motel. I have nothing but great things to say. Rooms clean, comfortable and cozy. Price was great. Front desk receptionist was friendly personable and made sure all our needs were met. Met the owners and very nice people. Marcia

We made a reservation online through their website and had to cancel 10 days later, which I did over the phone. That was two weeks before our reservation. We were still charged for our room. When I called to get a refund, I was called a liar and they denied I ever cancelled the reservation. They said I made the reservation the day before, when I actually made it 1 month before. Sounds like it is run by a husband and wife and she was hostile to me over the phone.

I don't know if that's allowed. I'd want to be near more restaurants and grocery stores if I was staying long term. The room I was in would be okay for a month, but I wouldn't want to stay any longer.
