So, the selfish part of me doesn’t want to share this gem with anyone because I really don’t think I would ever come to Eugene again if I couldn’t stay there! My husband and I love Eugene and try to come several times a year. We have stayed at many places and even the most luxurious Inn at the 5th did not compare to this. As vegans we were so excited to find a place that shared our ethical and environmental views. All products and food were top quality and cruelty free. Misha has an amazing garden that sustains most of the food she provides. She is a talented culinary creator with food that surpasses any restaurant. We just loved our stay at this beautiful space that is so perfectly decorated ...the rescue cow Peanut and her sweet entertaining chickens were so fun to watch..We were welcomed like old friends and treated like royalty being served and pampered the whole time. Misha is so helpful with places to go and places to eat and also informative about things we may like once leaving, such as new products and movies . She has a knack for reading people and energy and is a great conversationalist but doesn’t hover. We felt like we had as much privacy as we needed . It’s hard to put into words just how great this place is. Don’t be steered away if you are an omnivore. Her meals would thrill anyone and are fresh and amazing and not weird at all. If you are thinking of staying somewhere else... don’t! We stayed in the tandem room which faces the back of the property and has its own outside area with chairs and a table. The Other room had a room and sitting area , and more light that faces the front of the property. You still would have access to the common areas porch which is beautiful . Their house is attached but completely separate and we did not see them, outside of meal times. Both rooms are immaculate with beautiful bathrooms and top of the line luxurious cruelty free bath products. We will always stay here ..

Misha, the host makes you feel at home and pampers you at this charming, vegan bed & breakfast just 10 mins outside of Eugene and in the center of wine country. Our room was sparking clean and spacious. All toiletries provided were vegan - which was a huge plus. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very dark at night - perfect for a good night's sleep. The home cooked meals were fantastic and better than any restaurant. Ingredients were mostly organic or freshly picked from their garden. The common area had dozens of teas to try, sparkling water, and beer. Tons of books and DVDs to watch, as well as a nice backyard patio with fruits, vegetables, and herbs, and 3 chickens to keep you company. The resident cow, Peanut was adorable and even let us pet him. Also, loved how the host donated most of the proceeds to dozens of animal sanctuaries. We left Velo feeling rested and rejuvenated. Definitely stay at Velo if you're ever visiting Eugene or just passing by!

We stayed at Velo overnight, wish we had more time for a second night! We were greeted by Misha one of the owners who showed us around and even offered to make us snacks after our long day of travel getting there from Houston. The accommodations are wonderful, we had the back room and slept like babies with no traffic noise or disturbances. We really appreciated the "fragrance free" amenities and natural scented oils over the heavy perfume scents many places use. Misha uses all natural soaps and detergents, one of my favorite things about Velo! She had coffee (yum french press!) ready for us at 7am as we requested followed by a fabulous vegan, gluten free spread ( Homemade granola and toppings, seasoned organic potatoes, blueberry scones with various homemade spreads) for breakfast before our journey to Crater lake. She even packed some goodies for us to go! Oh did I mention the phenomenal (OMG) dessert she made for us the night before after our dinner out at Cornbreads? Bed was great, sparkling clean accommodations, wonderful tips on where to go by some really great folks. And if cycling is your thing, well your in luck, Rob (the other half of the dynamic duo) makes, yes you heard me right, creates custom made bikes in his shop. If you need a bit of pampering or just some zen down time, give Velo a chance, its a 7-10 minute drive to the heart of Eugene, and just enough out of the way to be a peaceful respite complete with tasty treats!

Our latest trek to Oregon brought us back to the Velo and this time, my wife joined me. As expected, she LOVED it as much as I do. First, you can't beat Misha as a hostess. And Rob is...well, he can build a wicked awesome bike! The place is cozy and inviting. The food is really off the hook. You may think you don't like Vegan food- until you try Misha's cooking. Wow. Then there are the animals. Peanut the Ginormous Cow along with his sibling duck, chicken, dog and cat are, simply, a part of the extended family. Even if this is only a place you go to because you need a room near U of O for a football game, you will leave with a sense of community that you didn't expect. Discover and be ready to be completely satisfied.
