Great stay at the Inn at the 5th.

Cleanliness: Due to COVID-19, cleanliness is more important than ever and was on paramount importance when selecting a hotel. The Inn at the 5th exceeded our expectations. Besides everything visually looking and smelling absolutely immaculate, the attention to detail was phenomenal. Examples include TV remote control placed in a disposable zipper bag, so that one can use the remote through the bag which is changed after each guest checks out. Pen and paper is placed in a seperate disposable zip lock bag. Each room is equipped with what they call a "butlers pantry" this is difficult to describe but basically its a small door next to the entrance/exit of each room, the door opens up and leads into a cubby like space attached to the closet of each room. The purpose of this is so that room service can deliver food and/or toiletries to each room 100% contactless. Ive never seen this in any hotel before and LOVED it.

Staff: All incredibly friendly and helpful with directions, itinerary suggestions, etc.

Hotel grounds: Beautiful, impeccably maintained, clean. The room I stood in was equipped with a gorgeous gas fire place, huge bathroom with large shower and double sinks, Aveda soaps/shampoos. The hotel provides unlimited complimentary bottled water and snacks throughout the stay and a welcome beer of your choosing from a local brewery.

Would love to return some day soon. Highly reccomend

Great hotel! We live about 45 minutes from Eugene. My husband was having some fairly complicated eye surgery and had a follow-up appointment the next day, so we stayed at The Inn instead of making that drive back and forth. We had some very specific requests all of which were accomodated by the wonderful staff. The room was impeccably clean, super comfortable bed, "fireplace", nice TV. A cute balcony that reminded me of being in Paris, great for sipping coffee and people watching. The bathroom was first class all the way around, from the spacious shower to the large towels and provided spa robes and the nearly instant hot water from the sink faucets. Yes, the room was a bit expensive even "off-season" but the little extra touches and attention to details made it worth spending the extra money. I just wish we could have stayed a couple more days!!

The hotel is in a great downtown location and the valet service makes it easy to unload and load the car (for a price), but the front desk staff wasn't very helpful or friendly with our check-in process - not even a smile. One male guest services attendant, who had just started, was very nice and accommodating, but not so those who seemed to have been there awhile. The room was okay. it was clean but not that spacious, and the bathroom only had a stand up shower with a rain shower head that had little water pressure (no soaking tub). The roof top restaurant was supposedly open until 9:00 but we saw the hostess rudely turn people away at 8:45. The menu is sparse, but the food was very good.

We had to vacate our home for soot removal and smoke abatement. It wasn't because we 'wanted a vacation, but it was a requirement.' We were PLEASANTLY suprised by the accommodations being disabled accessible (which isn't always the case with disability room changes), the cleanliness of the room, the fireplace giving great ambience, and able to have a microwave available for us to have in the room given my food allergies/needs. In the future we will be booking for respite away from home, and the staff went beyond just 'friendliness' to accommodate for us, and take our suggestions regarding door poundage issues, etc for the suites. They were magnificent. It gave us time to decompress from a horrible situation at home and allowed us to destress from the fire damage.

Stayed 2 nights at the Inn. Anthony at the reception desk was extremely helpful. He called before my stay to go over the new Covid-19 guidelines. Masks are required, the rooms are fully disinfected before each new guest and there is a 24 hour period between guests staying in the room. The room was comfortable with a small balcony, a fireplace and a modern bathroom. It was a great stay at a cute little boutique hotel. The access to the 5th St. Market was a great advantage for my stay. We had dinner at Marche restaurant and each morning I went for coffee and breakfast at the market.

The very courteous and competent staff gives an excellent impression from the minute you drive up. The valets, the front desk people all give you a sense that they're happy you're staying and that anything you need will be taken care of. Room service was excellent in every way. And even when housekeeping came to our door late the morning we left and we told her we weren't quite finished packing. She said, "Would you like some fresh coffee or bottled water?" That's a first for us well-travelled people!

We ventured to Eugene to clean out my daughter's freshman dorm room. The Inn was eerily quiet when we arrived, but the front desk greeted us in their same friendly manner. They were careful to maintain a 6' distance, and all were wearing face masks. The rooms were spotless, and we were grateful for the balcony to eat our take-out meals. The housekeeping staff wore gloves and face masks. We felt that the Inn went to great lengths to assure us that they were doing everything they could to maintain the safety of the guests and staff.

Spent a three day weekend at the Inn at the 5th while attending a sports event at UO. Staff at every level could not be more friendly and welcoming, and everything about the still-new facility radiated unpretentious class and elegance. Yes, it's a little pricey but I felt it was well worth it. On arrival at the airport, I found the complimentary shuttle bus waiting patiently for my arrival, and used the service on my departure as well. Another definite plus for me.

My junior suite was located on the fourth floor directly above the main hotel entrance, and because I had requested a quiet room, the bedroom was located inside of the unit, meaning it had no windows at all, just three walls and the hallway, rendering it a little on the dark side. That was the only downside for me.

Despite this odd inner room set-up, I still had difficulty sleeping on those nights when the trains ran (a block away from the hotel) blasting their horns at supersonic frequencies, loud enough to be heard in Springfield, I suspect. It's something that could make or break your stay here as the trains run on unpredictable schedules all day and night. At the very least you could ask to be positioned on the side of the hotel not directly facing the train tracks but it may not make much of a difference.

We ate a fairly average meal at the hotel's restaurant, Marche, but with above average prices. One doesn't come to Eugene expecting gourmet food but our expectations for dinner at Marche were predictably high. The truth is it's just an average bistro so perhaps if you go with your expectations in check you might enjoy it more than we did. Sadly the hotel does not offer breakfast at all, but one can order room service in the morning from Provisions, a bakery/café located just next door in the Mall with a good range of breakfast patries and sandwiches. Or you can go in person but be prepared to wait as the hot food dishes there do take a while to arrive.

Otherwise, the hotel offers free coffee and tea in the mornings and guests can help themselves to a choice of drinks and snacks available at all hours in the lobby.

Overall, a wonderful hotel to stay at if only the authorities could find a way to manage the noisy parade of trains that pass through the city at all hours of the day and night.

Excellent hotel, spacious, well designed rooms. This stay was in a spa suite equipped with a large Jacuzzi nicely decorated with bed arranged diagonally. Marche is our favorite restaurant in Eugene, literally 50 yards from the room. Also there is a well stocked market in the adjacent building.

Dear Elvis579 , I apologize for my delay in responding to your question. There are taxis available in Eugene. Our complimentary shuttle service is available on request and a favorite amenity. Our team knows the campus well and glad to answer questions about the UO. Many of them are attending currently or have graduated from UO. We added a third pane of glass to our rooms that face 5th street. This helped immensely with train noise. I recommend our balcony king guestrooms as our quietest rooms. They are on the south side of the building and offer a private balcony which is a great feature to enjoy. Thank you for your question. Jenny

The hotel has valet parking if i remember right is $15 or 17 a day- no in out charges. But the Hotel is in a unique market and I am pretty sure you can park it for no fee. Amtrak is almost walking distance per the map, but you may prefer the luxurious Mercedes shuttle car that is supplied free of charge (well 5 dollar tip for me). Do set a time for its use ahead of time to assure it's availability when you need it.
