It was a very hot day when we traveled from Wallowa, OR to the restaurant at RimRock Inn. We were looking for a nice air-conditioned place for lunch. It was a surprise when we were led straight through the restaurant onto the beautiful patio. It is located high enough in the mountains that the temperature was quite pleasant. We were able to enjoy a very relaxed lunch. Our 2 y/o granddaughter was kept entertained by the humming birds that were constantly flying to a nearby feeder. The food and service were very good, but the view is really what I would go back for.

This place has tipis and two little trailers. The only bathroom you can use at night is a port-a-potty, so it does feel like camping. During the day you can use the shower room and nice bathrooms. It is a very quiet, non-crowded place. It is full of wildlife, and the canyon view is jaw dropping. The little restaurant is a bit expensive but quite good. They have a very sweet dog and playful cats. The breakfast view from the deck (with wonderful breakfasts) can't be beat. They charge for wifi, but you don't go to the middle of nowhere to be online. The drive from civilization is about 30 minutes. Also it is close to a really interesting ghost town. Just a few minutes away. You should check this place out.

A most excellent place to stay on one of the best motorcycle routes in America. Our family rode a large loop that included the road from Joseph/Enterprise Oregon to Asotin/Clarkston Washington. The road goes through the Zumwalt Prairie, the worlds largest natural prairie preserve, and up onto the the forest above the Snake River system. In the middle of truly nowhere sets the RimRock Inn on the 2000+ foot bluffs of Joseph Creek canyon. The Chief Joseph room at RimRock Inn is impeccable. Perfectly clean, comfortable, with dual showers and restrooms. The large Chief Joseph room is beautifully decorated with a top-of-the-world view from a private patio. When we reserved we did not understand they also run a high end reservations-only restaurant. Make reservations and eat there. We had a wonderful salmon dinner after a long hot day of motorcycling. Included in the price was a custom made-to-order breakfast the next morning. Not often does our family get a private chef to make us breakfast in such a beautiful, relaxing dining room. The breakfast is for guests only. This place is one of America's hidden jewels. Best-of-the-best. Isolated, quiet, relaxing, with extraordinary hosts who call you by name. Come ride one of America's most amazingly twisty motorcycle roads and stay in the middle - at the Rimrock Inn. Our family agreed, we will go back again next year.

We stayed in the Appaloosa tipi and it was even more upscale than we expected. Two futons frames but with what felt like actual double bed mattresses with nice, warm bedding on a chilly night. There was a fire pit with Adirondack chairs just outside, fully stocked with wood, kindling, and a fire starter kit. The bathrooms and showers inside were nice and clean. Breakfast was yummy; the back porch area in the main house was very nice. The view from the entire property is stunning. We got a peek at the suite in the main house and it looked spacious and comfortable; will likely try that next stay! About 30 minutes outside of Enterprise, not much else in the area; a cool alternative to staying in town. Would highly recommend.

There is so much to say about the RimRock Inn! The views, the tipi, the fresh air, Cabot and Kim, the food, the service... Everything was over the top! From the moment we arrived, we were in awe! The RimRock Inn beats any yurt or glamping hands down. The tipi is luxurious: comfy soft sheets and blankets, a rug beside the bed to keep your feet warm as you get up in the morning, shadows of stallions running by as the horse paintings reflect through the canvas. A cup of hot coffee waits for you on a beautiful morning which can be taken outside onto the deck or to the gazebo. One could sit for hours taking in the peace and tranquility as you gaze over the Joseph Canyon. The red sunrise against fresh greenery brings a new dawn. Cabot and Kim, RimRock Inn owners and hosts, go out of their way to make your stay a five star rating. Cabot, as chef too, makes a delicious meal whether it's dinner or breakfast. Fresh seasonal vegetables and a fluffy crisp baked potato are a perfect vegetarian delight, Whether you stay for a day or for multiple nights you won't be disappointed. Or if time is short, sit at the bar for a drink and quick bite to eat. You'll see why RimRock Inn is so special and return for a second extended visit.
